Big Spring, Tx

Spent the nite here in Big Spring, Tx. Nice little Passport cg, easy in, easy out and site long enough to leave the tow hooked up. Not to bad a drive in, left Las Cruces at 0830 as per instructions from one of the guys there to miss the traffic thru El Paso. Worked like a charm and drove pretty much straight thru w/o a lot of traffic. Hit wind again after the 20/10 split but I figured that, it's pretty flat thru there. Saw sand dunes, too! Well not exactly sand dunes, sand hills. Monahans Sand Hills state park. A lot of vegetation covered them, but sand it was! I find 'em everywhere! Where was the camera, you ask? Why, over on the co-pilot seat, of course! Where in the heck else would it be? Tried to get Chewy to get it for me, but she wasn't having any part of being a "go-fer". Saw a sign coming in that Big Spring has the oldest Harley dealer in Texas, but just didn't feel like un-hooking to go see it. I'm still pretty bummed that I left so late and don't have time to spend more time exploring. Off to Ft. Worth this morning, 2 days there visiting with friends. Last time I was there I was able to pick up their wifi signal in Hope, so we'll see.

@Carold....nope, no new Harley, just a shirt, but they didn't have anything I couldn't live w/o on the sale racks, and I already have a couple from there, so just came home with a $5 headband.

Travel safely, my friends. I need to take a lesson from Liz I guess, and take more pictures, but so far on this trip it's just been travel. But I'm enjoying being back on the road. I always forget how much I enjoy driving Hope until I do it again.

Everyone laughs at me cause I always plan my trip around going thru El Paso on a Sunday. I really HATE driving thru El Paso for some reason. Liz has a real advantage in taking pictures - her rig is small enough she can pull over easily. I'm about 50' complete with tow.

Sharon, I went thru El Paso last Monday morning. Left Anthony, TX at 6:09 a.m. and came out the other side of EP at 6:44. What a sweet drive thru. Never have had it that good, even when I used to drive just a car thru. Always tried to miss stopping at Big Spring because everything was off the highway. Always kept going.....Glad you had a good cg. Good luck going thru the DFW metroplex. I'll be going thru next Tuesday, but haven't decided on whether to take my rig or leave it in storage for a week and just drive. Safe driving and have fun!

Be careful and enjoy the sights. It's dangerous to take photos while traveling anyway. wink*wink
