GOOD MORNING TO US ALL!
I was hoping to find a report from Mary, a friend from the ORS group, as she was fleeing a forest fire last night----had to leave the chatroom early when the sherrif suggested she leave the timber area and go down into the valley for the night. The fire was only 25 miles south of her at that point! She was all packed with her irreplacables, gassed up, and was ready to haul as soon as any sirens sounded. I guess she has been through this before where she lives. The sherrif, rather than the siren, brought her to action, and off she went. I am anxioulsy awaiting some news from her today.
Also, Liz is at a repair station today, waiting to see how much damage might have been done to her transmission after her stuck accelerator incident yesterday. I am waiting for some news from her, too, as I am so hoping she can continue her trip north so I can meet up with her. I know those girls will both check in with us as soon as they are able.
The sun is coming out nice and bright this morning as the morning fog burns off. Forecast is for great weather now for abut a week----hot and sunny! I will take a few items to the leanto today and Molly and I will move in down there for a few days, or until the weather forces us back here. I had one week of vacation ('down' time) so far this summer, at the bluegrass festival, and now this will be another week away from all the work I need to do before I head south. I'll take crossword puzzles, some books I never have time to read, bail out the paddleboat, bring my canoe down there, and gather some dry firewood. I'll take some pics, too, and post them when I can.
I spent our rainy day in the house again yesterday, going through and sorting 'stuff,' so I am ready for being outside today! Coffee is ready for me now, as it's been the required half hour after my Fossamax, and there is plenty to go around. Stop by and tell us about your plans and whatever. Happy Friday!!
