Beautiful countryside Liz. That whitewater is the one that daughter Kate has lead us down the last two summers during the "family" kayaking adventures.
We go out of the Outdoor Center (NOC) and Kate and Lucas serve as our knowledgeable guides. They are trying to think of someplace different to try next year. The day we went down in July it was overcast so there were long stretches of heavy fog on the river (cold dam release water hitting warm air with no sun to burn the fog off) and then there was the thunderstorm
. Either way there were times we were paddling and I couldn't tell the gray fog from the gray half submerged rocks from the steel colored water.....
There were numerous group rafts ahead of me and one by one they would just fade slowly and disappear into the fog. I would know there were people ahead but you couldn't tell what was really coming up sometimes. Made for interesting paddling.....
It is also were I learned to appreciate the stability of the "duckies"
