Off on another adventure....to Balsam Mountain, a little visited secret just off the Blue Ridge Parkway.

As usual, Liz, a wonderful account of your travels! I am so envious of your being able to travel on such roads where trailers are not allowed----and of your ease in driving such distances without having to worry about 'hauling.' Once my FL house has been sold (the one where the homeowners' association does not allow trailers or campers), I have made up my mind to definitely trade once again for a class B or a class C like Connie has. I love her Minnie Winnie, and I also love your rig, Liz. I always forget that in my early life, I traveled all over this country in a VW van, not even a camper one, modified by me, and I never gave a thought as to whether I could go somewhere or not, as I have to with my trailer. Although I truly love this little trailer as a 'mobile house' somewhere, the thought of hauling it all over does not appeal to me at all.

Thanks for sharing your travels. I look forward to seeing you up here before too many more weeks pass!

Happy travels!

Beautiful scenery and interesting sights along the way. Cute pic with Roe and Moe touching noses.

The Blue Ridge Mts is one place I've not yet explored and is high on my bucket list. So beautiful and serene.
Wonderful pictures and narrative, Liz. Thanks! Stay safe!

Beautiful countryside Liz. That whitewater is the one that daughter Kate has lead us down the last two summers during the "family" kayaking adventures. :) We go out of the Outdoor Center (NOC) and Kate and Lucas serve as our knowledgeable guides. They are trying to think of someplace different to try next year. The day we went down in July it was overcast so there were long stretches of heavy fog on the river (cold dam release water hitting warm air with no sun to burn the fog off) and then there was the thunderstorm :o . Either way there were times we were paddling and I couldn't tell the gray fog from the gray half submerged rocks from the steel colored water..... There were numerous group rafts ahead of me and one by one they would just fade slowly and disappear into the fog. I would know there were people ahead but you couldn't tell what was really coming up sometimes. Made for interesting paddling..... :) It is also were I learned to appreciate the stability of the "duckies"
