CRYSTAL CLEAR TUESDAY

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

CRYSTAL CLEAR TUESDAY

GOOD MORNING ALL!

The sun is coming up today after a beautiful clear, bright, moonlit night. It's up to 50 now after being in the lower 40s last night, and should turn out to hit 70, or so, later on. There is not a cloud in the sky, the bunnies are grazing on the grass around the trailer, the apples on the old apple tree are getting fat and ripe, and all's right with the world! They are tempting me to make some apple crisp out of them, which is really the only way I love to eat apples----loaded with sweet brown sugar, a bit of flour, cinnamon, and sometimes some oatmeal on the top----hot and covered with either vanilla ice cream or fat-free cool whip!

As it proves to be a beautiful day outside, I guess staining is on the docket for today----and painting the trim around the doors and windows. I guess the time of procrastinating is over! This weekend sounds like it will a good time to spend a couple of nights in the leanto as it's supposed to hit the 80s during the days. I love staying here in the trailer, of course, but the leanto is really like wilderness camping in a solid-wall tent----something I did every summer for years and years. I miss hearing the night sounds that are muffled inside here, and hearing the footsteps of the night-prowling animals going past my little safe haven. Yep....leanto staying will happen for a few days before it gets too cold for me to enjoy it. I will also take my canoe down there and practice paddling with Molly in it with me.

The news is full of Salmonella and bedbug info this morning, and the few mice and earwigs I deal with here seem pretty insignificant in comparison! I haven't caught a mouse in the house for several days now, which is a very good thing. No mice at all in the trailer.

I stopped by school yeserday to make sure I am on the sub list, and pay my monthly dental insurance premium. They are all running around in circles, trying to fill positions that have been abandoned due to moving a bunch of teachers and teaching assistants around! Many have just up and quit and are looking for other jobs. The teaching assistants do not want to have be baby sitters and didey-changers, as they are educated to actually TEACH students with learning disabilities----they asked me if I wanted to come back! ACK! I graciously declined, and wished them luck with filling positions that should never have to be covered by educators. I also had to fill out yet another form so that I can get my incentive money before I die-----so danged many forms and jibberish that mean nothing to me. All I want is my check so I can see what I will have to deal with.

Coffee is hot and the mug feels good on my cold hands. Stop by and tell us what's going on in your world....we love to hear from you each day! Hazlenut with French Vanilla creamer is the menu, and there is now just ONE pistachio muffin left! Happy Tuesday!

G'morning!
I had weird dreams last night. Twice I woke up from nightmares of drowning. Not sure why that part of my memory kicked in as I did almost drown as a kid.
Furnace is running again this morning, but will hit 90 later today. In two days they say our high will only hit 70.
I'm getting back into the swing of things after being gone a week. Had a super roadtrip with my DD/family down to CA to my son/family. We did 4 wine tastings in 2 days at Napa. Toured the Jelly Belly factory. Also ate some wonderful food. They sure live high on the hog in that part of the country!! I also got to see my friend, Jeannette as she drove up from Gilroy. She lives in her RV on her sister's ranch there and is waiting to hear of a workcamp job in FL for the winter.
The neighbor boy did a good job keeping my grass under control while I was gone. With the cooler weather I have good looking grass this summer.
The kids start school here after Labor Day. This is the second week of school for my oldest GD in CA. She's a freshman this year. Huge high school as she says the yearbook is about 1 1/2" thick!
Not much planned for today. Got caught up on bill paying yesterday. Checkbook is a bit thin this month but feel blessed that I always have enough to meet my needs.
Made the crockpot bread last night. Everyone was right in that it sure smells wonderful as it bakes. I mixed Cajun seasonings and sharp cheddar cheese in mine and it was good. NOTE: if you make it make sure you mix the seasonings in with the dry Bisquick before adding the milk otherwise it's hard to get the seasonings distributed. Great bread for eating along with a meal, not for sandwiches.
Ok, need more coffee! Wishing you all a wonderful day!

I haven't joined in on the morning coffee for awhile now, so this is nice :D I got to bed in decent time last night so woke up at 6:30, even though it's my day off and didn't have my alarm set. I got up and had a bowl of doctored up oatmeal. I put some of crumbs that I save from the bottom of my cereal box (I also recycle ;) ), cinnamon, raw sugar, and dried cranberries. Rags actually got up earlier and wanted to go out so we took a long walk of 5 or 6 miles. Worked up an appetite so had some of my muskmelon from the farmer's market, some almonds, and a square of dark chocolate. I usually have some Activia yogurt, but I'm out. Better get to the store today. The weather is so wonderful today!!! A cold front came through this morning and a nice breeze and clouds came with it. It was in the 60's and only supposed to get up to 79 today. What a welcome relief from the high heat and humidity we've had 8-) I have a dentist appt today, so will go to Mom's tomorrow to do laundry and visit. Will continue my job search online as soon as I finish here. Enjoying a cup of my coffee substitute (Pero) and hazelnut biscotti creamer....mmmm!

I finally got my paycheck for July yesterday so will go to the bank today :D My bosses actually paid me for part of August, too. Pam said she was going to try to do that so that by the end of Sept, I will be completely paid and won't have to wait until late Oct for a paycheck for Sept.

Soos...I know as a a sub, you can still be overworked so be careful you don't let them take advantage of you ;) Enjoy the lean to!

We finally have some relief from the high pressure that has been stalled over this area for the last month and a half causing triple digit temps high humidity and excessive heat warnings. We had rain this AM and a nice cool breeze. Should be a pleasant 89 today. Was able to get some cleaning done that I have put off because of the heat.

Lenora, glad you had a good week with your family. Linda good luck job hunting. Soos, definitely don't let them take advantage of you, remember you are retired now. Linda

Thanks, Linda ;) Well, my teeth are all clean and shiny now :D I'm trying to cut back on spending in case it takes me awhile to find a job in CA, so didn't get X-rays that I'm due for. Maybe next year. My hygienist said that I had them in 2008. They looked good then and she could tell I take good care of my teeth. I want to keep them ;)

What a gorgeous day it turned out to be! It was breezy, but comfortable temps. It's nice to finally have the AC off ;) It's supposed to be in the 50's tonight. I already have the windows shut. Seems weird! We haven't seen temps that low in months! Should be a good sleeping night :D Rags has already tried to convince me it's bedtime
