Fascinating! Like Mitch I would have liked to read more. As it turns out, Grandma was right on the mark for puncture wounds and cuts. Honey and sugar are natural antibiotics and sugar stops bleeding very fast. Don't know about the spider webs, tho. I remember when my grandma was staying with me for a while ( she was 92) she had a very large weeping open patch of skin on her leg. The visiting nurse kept putting antibiotics on it, then she would bandage it. The next time she came, the bandage tore more skin off and it just wouldn't heal and kept getting bigger. Her poor skin was just so thin. Anyway, I put honey on it, put a nonstick bandage on it and in a week she had a nice scab on it and it finally healed up. Cut my hand really deep at work one time and it wouldn't stop bleeding even with pressure. One of the guys put sugar on it and in a matter of minutes it had stopped. Didn't even leave a bad scar. I was amazed, just wish I had known that when the kids were young. Then just a couple of weeks ago Dr. Oz on tv verified all of this.
Only Irish coffee provides in a single glass all four essential food groups: alcohol, caffeine, sugar and fat.
