Does it smell and taste like coffee??

Pasta

Postby mitch5252 » Fri Aug 20, 2010 5:16 pm

..

Will anyone have a pot and strainer big enough to cook and drain a pound of pasta (small shells)?
If so, I might be inclined to make some of the most delicious pasta you've ever tasted for the Pot Luck...unusual, but OH SO delicious...

I know a pot and strainer aren't much, but I'm seriously going to run out of weight and/or room!!!
...especially now that I have to lug the Sweetie and the Little Beast with me...

I've got it. You want me to bring the pasta, or do you use a certain pasta and want to bring that yourself?

Vunderbar!!! I'll bring all the ingredients, if you let me borrow your pot and strainer!
(I'll try and get the high-fiber shells - at least add a little something "healthier".)
Thanks!

You can borrow - or I can fix the pasta - whichever you prefer.

I'd say I'm easy - but nope, not going there. Will say I'm flexible. In my mind that could be just as bad - but my body won't go the ways that could be bad - so will stick with that one :)

I should have some extra space in van. Let me know if you need transport for anything else.

book exchange?

Postby retiredhappy » Sat Aug 21, 2010 12:27 pm

How about a table for exchanging books including audio books? I'll have several audio books to exchange. I get them from the library and make copies so I don't have to worry about a due date when I'm traveling.

Good idea. Unfortunately, I just gave away a box of books and will be doing so with another before leaving here. Have way too many now that I got 2 more boxes I had left here in bama a couple years ago. If I can find room for any of them, will keep some of the better ones. Then again, that's most of them ...

Would like to offer, for those that love to cook...PM me with a supple list of food stuff and I can purchase them and bring them in with me on that Monday. Even simple things like eggs (right Lori?) I want to contribute but know it won't be through my cooking. That way the real cooks and do what they love but have some assistance to keep the costs down. WIthout requests I will try to pick up some fresh produce, appetizers, pastry, or other taste things to suppliment all of our choices :)

An idea for you....bring the ingredients for what you would like to have and I'll cook it for you. Just let me know ahead of time so I'll be prepared.

Oh, so kind but I can't think of anything special....that is the way with this non-cook.....I don't even have imagination of what I might be missing. If someone else makes it (and its not too spicy) I like it! It is the simple stuff that I miss.....I don't eat out that much either. Guess I'm just food challenged and boring....

I think that sitting around the dinner table at meals....was not a pleasant time in my childhood. I understand the ideal of good friends/family and breaking of bread together and good times but don't have a history of those family holiday meals and spent many years not going out to eat for financial reasons...... now I'm just out of the habit. :?

Thanks, Tina! But all you need to bring is a hearty appetite and maybe something you mentioned in your last sentence (and Herschel, of course...can't forget him)
BJ and Sarah are joining George and me on Wednesday for a burger on the grill.
I'd be glad to slap one together for you, you non-cook you...just let me know! (I'm a sucker for a starving woman...)
(and in Vickie's case, I'd be glad just to slap her...)

Simple as in...Mac and cheese? Deviled eggs? Chinese Chicken Salad? C'mon girl, work with me here!! I'll cook, but you have to bring Herschel, Izzy and Remi over to visit while I cook and you do the dishes!
