TUESDAY GTG LET-DOWN

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

TUESDAY GTG LET-DOWN

Postby Nasoosie » Tue Aug 10, 2010 7:49 am

GOOD MORNING TO ALL!

I'm sitting here in my empty camp yard, wondering where the time went. I hear nothing but crickets this morning.

I have today to get ready for the near-week of boondocking at the VT bluegrass festival. I need to go to the leanto and get my generator, find a longer coaxial cable for my teeny-tiny little 12 volt TV (I have dozens of them in my electronics drawer), call Momot's and see if I can fill my fresh water tank tank there tomorrow morning when I stop to have them install my door prop. As I filled and washed out my tank yesterday, and tried my pump for the first time this year (it works great), I think I am ready to hitch tonight to get ready to head out early tomorrow morning so I can be at the dealers' by 8:30. Now there's a neat run-on sentence that I would edit if one of my students presented it for me!

Laura, my friend who will stay with me at the festival, will meet me at the visitor's center in VT along with Richard and his rig so we can go in together and get set up next to each other. Laura will have her car this year as her father is very frail and has frequent mini-strokes now, so she may have to head home early. After reading the forecast which is for temps in the 80s, I am wondering about setting up in the shaded area rather than the field this time. They say that is the 'quiet' part of the park, but it has always seemd like party central to us, and, actually, I am still in party mode! I'll see what the others think in the morning.

Mandy and Joe will try to get their friend with the huge flatbed truck to haul their tractor home for them today, a sthey both need to get back there and get ready for school.....Mandy to teach, and Joe to work more on his engineering degree.

After this last scheduled event for the summer, I will need to get down to the real business of staining my house, sorting through 'stuff',' calling an alarm system company like ADT to see how much they will charge me to install a unit for me here, and possibly for the FL house, as well. That way I can be away from both places with fewer worries.

The sun is coming out, it's already 73 degrees here, and I need to get my body in action. Coffee is hot, so stop by and let us know what's going on in your world. Later, y'all!

Soos, I'm glad you have the festival to prepare for so you won't feel quite so bad about the Ruckus being over.
I would love to see eighty degrees rather than the week of heat we're facing. This too shall pass, I hope, but I want it soon! At least I have started to catch up on some of the paperwork I've been putting off for way too long. I'm also listening to a book called The Kitchen Help that is helping to pass the time. Still haven't got my watercolors out so may do that this afternoon after my nap!
Time for my second breakfast, everyone have a wonderful day.

Good morning ladies!

Just a quick check-in today to share some good news. Passed my cancer screening tests again; just have to do it again in 6 months. To celebrate, I went chair shopping. Have wanted a camp chair like Tina's since seeing hers last Oct. I found one; not as nice as Tina's but will serve its purpose. Think I saw one like it in Soos gtg post; little flip up tray on side. Looking forward to breaking it in at the ARK gtg.

Have another doctor appointment early this afternoon then off to the farm in east TN for a few days to help cousin out. Settling affairs after someone passes away can be a daunting task and has been for her. I will take camera this trip and try to get some photos to post. It is such pretty countryside there. I will return on Friday. Not looking forward to the drive or heat (still hitting low 100s here). If I could see well enough to drive at night, would do that to help avoid heat.

Sorry I don't have time to post to all the other threads today but I have been following everyones adventures and enjoying all your travels.

Have a safe and fun day.

That's great news, Sarah!!
Having my AM coffee and lsitening to my furnace run! Our high was 67 yesterday, but suppose to hit mid 90s this weekend! Strange weather, for sure.
Talked to my SIL yesterday as he wants to borrow my Little Missy to go camping with the family up at Lake Mayfield.
Not much else going on. Just keeping my ear to the news to see who survived the plane crash in Alaska. SO sad. Prayers needed.

Yippee, Sarah. That is terrific news. I know that must be a relief for you. Have fun in God's country and stay cool.

Soos, sounds like you have a good plan for the festival. Tap a foot for me. :D

Great news, Sarah. Looking forward to celebrating at the GTG. Soos, just rewind and replay that slide show and don't forget to take one at the next one. Pulled into friends' yard in Maine near Lake Sebago. Played tennis and going sailing this afternoon. We're right on a river but also next to the street. carold

CONGRATS, SARAH!!

That's great news! Have a good trip, but don't get too hot or too tired.

I will probably not be on here for about a week, as I don't believe there is any internet or cell service at the music festival. So somebody else will have to put the coffee on for a while!

Have a good week, y'all!

Great news Sarah! See you when you get back from TN. I've debated getting one of those chairs too, but not sure how it would stow in my little rig.

Soos, I'm glad you're off to another great time at the bluegrass festival. For some reason I thought Alburgh Fest. was Labor Day weekend, and I had planned to catch it too. Not this year, I guess.

Would love to be sailing on a lake in Maine, Carold....have a great time!
