SATURDAY BEFORE DAWN!

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

SATURDAY BEFORE DAWN!

GOOD MORNING ALL!!

It's now 2:00 a.m. here at the Ruckus, and people are going to bed in shifts. I think everyone has finally left the party barn site, and my thermometer here in the trailer says it's 42 outside. I turned on my furnace to get some heat in here before I crawl into my sleeping bag. I also just went in the house to get a piece of pizza which I just zapped. It's either very late, or very early, so I will say goodnight as well as good morning! Sorry about not posting here for a couple of days----it's been very busy!

The Ruckus has been so much fun! We sure do miss Carol, and Kevin, and Bill, and Caroline who couldn't make it this year.

I will try to get some pictures posted tomorrow, if I can find some time. In the meantime, farewell for now.

Good Morning to All - The coffee is on downstairs and smells really good. It is actually cool out this a.m. - Thank goodness. But by middle of next week it is supposed to be up in the HIGH 90s. Funny how much hotter that is here than 115 in Las Vegas. One of the new parts for the Alfa that we ordered came, just waiting for the new slide motor then we'll be able to get it fixed and maybe get on the road for a short trip north to Elkhart, IN. We will be able to get the satellite dish reception problems etc. fixed there. I hope.
In my blog I've mentioned all the things that have quit working around here in the past month - well now the telephone, land line, has stopped working. Called ATT yesterday and their recorded answer was "The problem will be fixed Tuesday the 17th by 8 p.m." Are they kidding?! Never could get through to a real person - will try later today again when I have my patience in hand.
Keep cool and dry and have a good day.

Morning!
Thanks for the coffee, Carol. Cool AM here, too. So far this summer every night has been good sleeping weather, cooling down to at least the low 50s. This weekend we are to only be in the low 70s with a chance of drizzle, which we can use. My lawn sprinkler system is running as I type.

Not a thing planned for today. Think I'll start another book on my Kindle. Oh, and my neighbor said that she read on MS Money that Barnes and Noble are selling out or scaling down. Seems ebooks is making the books selling business a bust. http://articles.moneycentral.msn.com/In ... st=1789441

Wishing everyone a fabulous day! Soos, looking forward to seeing the Ruckus pictures, glad you checked in! Carol, seems the satellite system has been a bugger for you guys for some time. Hope you get that and your ATT up and running ASAP!

I keep up with all the B&N news - they aren't - as of yet, scaling down - and the selling is to boost things. Actually the president or CEO is looking into putting together his own group to buy B&N. Although it's all speculation right now - the speculation took their stock prices UP. Weird.

Is a nice day here. Started out cooler. The rain yesterday afternoon/early evening brought temps down a little last night - had a wonderful walk then - the brids were thrilled - they were actually out playing in the rain as were lots of the kids here. Peaches and I waited til it was a light mist to go walking. This morning, it was still cooler - and another good walking morning. Now, however, the sun has come through and the heat is coming back. Is ok, I like summer. I LOVE summer. LOL

Have a great day, all.

Came back on edit to add - Lenora, I think ebooks are effecting book stores- but unfortunately, what's effecting them more - is less people are reading. I hated watching my favorite stores close - one by one - and then Milwaukee had a chain of 5 stores - all like a wonderful independent store - just spread across the city and suburbs - and over the last 10 years, sales kept dropping - they closed before ebooks made a dent. Made me cry. I went to one of those stores all the time - and they had author readings, etc that got me in more often. I really miss that. While B&N is a chain - it still feels like a bookstore to me - and however they restructure, I'm hoping they come out on top. Now, if parents could start instilling reading in kids today! I tried to talk a few of the kids at the cg here to read- they thought I was NUTS. Well, I am - but still ....

Morning is about to leave here in a few mins. so I will just say HI everyone. Just caught up on here for the morning thread and discovered I have not been here since Tuesday. The week has flown, and except for the different chores I have accomplished, I sure couldn't tell you where it went !!!

Most of my time and work has gone to getting the r.v and me ready to leave this place :D Got the r.v all washed and waxed, early one morning, forget which one, did it on one cup of coffee, so had to check it out later to make sure I had done a good job ;) Tried to get out there before the heat was too bad. Finished by 10( had a couple of breaks in there) and it still wasn't too bad out there. Sorry, Liz, had to add that, little bit farther north makes a huge difference as to how long a morning is cool enough not to die in. Yesterday, took it in for oil change, and good road check, tires, belts, hoses, fluids etc. etc. Tues. am having a new muffler put on. Then r.v. except for dusting and packing is ready to roll. I have my meds, for 3 months, and will get Maggies and have her nails done before we leave. Have a hair app. for next Thurs. , so I will feel better. It grew so fast this time, it needs cutting bad.

The ruskus, must really be going good if Soos, is up at 2 something and starts our morning thread here   Anxious to see the pix.

Carol, wow, I am so sorry, about all your repairs going on up there. It seems its something all the time. I always heard problems came in 3's, and usually does for me, after the first two I look for the third, , but you all are sure blowing that theory all to heck!!! A positive note is, you soon will have everything repaired, replaced or new so it has to quit sometime. My well, seems to be my biggy here, when everything seems to be going ok, it doesn't again :) Years ago we had lightening hit our house and its not a funny matter at all, it traveled through the lines in the house to the switch box and it threw the main switch. We had odd things wrong. I lost the light on my sewing machine, but the machine itself is fine. It couldn't be fixed, so now I sew with a lamp setting right there, in the way most of the time. Lost the t.v and big freezer, blew several bulbs in lamps, took awhile to realize what all had been effected. I will never forget it, luckily we were not at home, but our dog was and he was so scared the rest of his life of storms. I hope all is fixed and you all can enjoy yourselves again very soon.

Well, think my dishwasher has finished with the kitchen chores :) , so I will go in and put everything away

Hope you all have a great day.

Moving slow today, kind of tired after our trip, so I'm doing some research on the computer for batteries. Hope needs 6, truck needs 2 and should probably replace the jeep one, too. Yikes! They're all about the same age. The truck batteries are dead, I don't drive it enough, so I'll have to charge it just to get it down to costco for new ones. The jeep seems ok, but I don't want any problems on the trip, so I'll just have Jeep put one in when I take it down for service. I'll replace Hope's myself. I'm going with Optima Blue tops for her. They're kind of pricey (well, real pricey if truth be told), but they'll hold a charge longer, last longer and no more checking water. I got 5 years out of the ones I have, which is pretty good considering how much dry camping I do. Just gonna screw around today, get stuff put away, make lists, Chewy needs a bath, she's pretty itchy today. She gets pretty bad when it gets hot here, so she gets a bath about once a week with her allergy shampoo. She'll be pretty upset with me for the rest of the day, but, oh well. Spent some time catching up on posts, I don't have time to respond to all of them, but thoughts are with all of you.

Way past morning. We played an early game of tennis. Had to stop because tGM pulled his groin going for a high bouncing ball. There happened to be a Toyota dealership close by, so decided to have the brakes checked. They've been squeaking a lot and I left  the emergency brake on the last time we towed. We also have 160,000 miles on it. Need pads, drums, etc. $$$$$$$ and more $$$$$$. So we're staying in Bangor, ME an extra day and then on to Lake Sebago to visit friends for a few days, then heading west and north. Maybe Toronto and the Canadian side of the falls and then back to Watkins Glen to get our mail and on to the GTG. Thanks Beth for adding us to the Branson list. Hopefully tGM won't be too worn out and over socialized to go. You know, this group can be ---hmmm-- overwhelming for some  tGM is somewhat of a loner. carold

Beth, I think the internet is as much to blame as anything for the dimishing book sales/bookstores. ebooks is just speeding it up... :(

It's way past morning here. I went swimming at a friends house for about 3 hours. I had sun screen on but my shoulders and back are really red. It doesn't hurt but bet I peel.

We had lightning hit a transformer outside our old house one time. It was just outside our bedroom and I woke up standing up in the bed. It didn't burn anything out at the time but later one of the wires coming into the house went bad and we couldn't run anything that used 220 until they replaced the wiring.

We didn't take our house cats when we left for Hurricane Rita because we had hurricanes all the time and had never seen anything like that. I couldn't get back for 4 days and I found Pepper in the top of a closet. Now if there is bad weather she gets behind the door in the utility room. We didn't loose any cats but had to get one of the barn cats out of a tree. I promised Pepper I wouldn't leave her again.

My rv needs washing but don't know if it will get done before I go to New Jersey. I am trying to talk my son into going with me. If he goes I will have to unload a bunch of stuff. I was looking for a bathing suit in there this morning and there's enough clothes that I could be gone a month. Things seem to get loaded and never unloaded.

Well, I need to go to the local store and pick up a few things or bite the bullet and go to Walmart.
