Fri Afternoon - and No Morning Thread?

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Fri Afternoon - and No Morning Thread?

Postby Bethers » Fri Aug 06, 2010 3:15 pm

OK, where are all the sleepyheads? I know Soos is busy with a gtg at her place- but some of you must have been here? Don't be afraid to start the coffee in the morning!

I was running this morning - well, not literally - but just did my biz online, then took my aircard to Jean to use - and I went out in the kayak, and read, and relaxed, etc. Just got here now wanting to see what everyone'd been up to - and obviously nothing LOL

Hope you're all having a grand day.

Joselyn and I were busy washing the outside of the RV before it got too hot. Ha, it was already too hot when we started. Now it's clean inside and out and just needs repacking to be ready for our next adventure. RV oil change and service will happen Monday, and Tuesday we'll be on our way to Alabama. I'm looking forward to a week's relaxation with Beth, Jean, & Sarah. Beth and I will get out on the lake with our kayaks. Roe heard about Peaches riding in the kayak and now he wants to try it too. He's been in a canoe before, so should do fine.

I have one more post to finish up the trip west on my blog. Hopefully I'll finish that one this weekend.

Guess all those Ruckus revelers are having too much fun to check in. Those of us unable to make it this year will want a full report.

Hope there's no repeat of this scenario from last year...

I slept in a bit this morning, then got a call that my new RV thermostat was in. I stopped by an RV dealership and ordered it yesterday and he told me it would probably be in Monday at the earliest! So what a surprise to get a call first thing. I went and picked it up and then went to the RV storage and installed it. Yep, put in a new thermostat all by myself! Fired up the genny and tried out the AC and furnace and all seems to running ok. Also replaced the 9V battery in the smoke dectector and put the new 90* cable connector, I picked up from Radio Shack yesterday, on the cable end so it won't get lost, and it should work fine for closing the RV cable door cover when connected at the CG. Wow, was that a run-on sentence, or what!!?

Then I came home, made and ate lunch out on my patio where there is a nice cool breeze along with warm sunshine. Perfect weather! After that I sat for an hour reading on my Kindle, then downloaded some sample books by the same author to see if I might like more of his books.

That's it from my neck of the woods!! Hope everyone is staying cool and safe.

THanks, Vickie. I did take a picture with my iPhone so I'd get the colored coded wires back in the right order. Younger eyes would have helped, too! ;)

Good job, Lenora! Was it a battery-operated thermostat? I have to put my new one in, too. I have a Hunter battery operated.

"No biggie, right?" she asked with trepidation.

Can you reach your thermostat?

You know, there's a really, REALLY bad phrase quivering on my lips...

Quivering - quivering on lips- this could be scary.

Mitch, as far as I know they have to be battery-operated because of when you don't have any electrical hook-ups. I have a Hunter digital thermostat and it runs on 2 AA batteries. I just take them out when I'm not using the trailer. Switching out the thermostat was the first "mod" I did on my trailer. The digital ones are much more accurate than the slide types. AND it's easy to do, isn't it, Lenora? ;)

Better quivering lips than actually saying the phrase that was quivering to be released...Vickie does that to me, ya know.
