My glasses frames have metal fatigue because I put them on and take them off constantly. I have tried bifocals but they drive me crazy so I opt to just do the "on and off" thing instead. I don't wear my glasses when I play with the ferrets (is that what you were getting at??). I just wear them for distance (beyond 5 feet...).

No comment from the Optician on those glasses I just hope you had your PD measured. I couldn't order frames without trying them on. There is an art to fitting frames Good luck there, Barbie!

I have a Tom Tom that I named Tim. He has that British accent...so sexy My ex was actually jealous of him You do have to be careful using one with an RV. Tom Tom Tim has taken me on some questionable roads. Some I was able to see the "No Thru Trucks" sign in time. One route took me onto a residential street with low tree branches and had to back my way back out to the main road. Don't want that to happen now that I'm traveling alone! I use my Droid GPS most of the time now, as it is Google Maps and current. I also bought a trucker's atlas and use a combination of the two I heard someone came out with a trucker's GPS. Now, that would be nice

Linda, When I RV'd with my husband we had a truckers atlas as it was nice to see the downhill grades etc.

There is a lot of info in those, including bridge or overpass heights. I like that I can see the truck routes quickly in yellow It was discounted at Flying J so well worth the small investment!

Google maps is not better than TomTom when kept current. And many cg's will tell you not to use any GPS service to get to them - and follow their directions. Most people ignore them (I know - I workamped at one where we always told them- take directions from us or our website) then they'd show up white knuckled because they ignored. Since I like back roads - I just watch carefully for signs, etc. And when someone tells me to not use my GPS and gives me directions - I listen.

Several years ago Google maps told friends of mine to turn right at an intersection they should have turned left. I just pulled up those same directions now - Google is still saying that. Only about 20 miles it takes them out of the way - and all the way around - When if they turn left, about 300 yards down is the right turn they need that it routes them way around to get back to. Strange - and stranger yet - it's still doing it. (That intersection has been like it is for over 20 years - nothing new there.)

I'm sure that's correct 99.9% of the time, but a few weeks ago when I was driving around and wanted to check out a state park, I followed the map from their website. It said for campers with RVs longer than 24ft to use the second entrance, follow signs. I was in my car and passed the main entrance as told and drove another 6 miles to find the second entrance. After that I missed the left turn (poorly marked), and had to turn around (I'm not sure how an RV was suppose to turn around as the road went thru a tiny town with narrow streets). The next road went for miles and miles and eventually turned into a logging road!! Now how the heck was an RV suppose to enjoy entering the CG on a road like that!?! I turned around, went back to the main entrance and after a drive thru decided that the park probably wasn't to my liking anyway, but glad I found out before making reservations etc.
