Where is everyone? Too hot for a campfire? I say come on over and just back your chair up a bit so you don't singe the hair off your legs (for those of us who don't shave every other day anymore :o ) Grab a beer to cool you off. I'll have an icy one, please! 89 bottles of beer on the wall...

After my morning walk with Rags, I spent the rest of the morning trying to figure out how to sync the picture files from DXH's computer to mine. I will continue that quest in the morning so DXH can have his computer back. I think I got the files off of his, but can't figure out how to put them on mine from the external hard drive. I'm sure it's something very simple, but some days things just seem more difficult

Spent the afternoon and evening with my mom. Got my laundry done, returned some library books, checked out some movies, deposited the check from the sale of my topper, and had dinner at a new restaurant with my mom. I showed her how to take picture attachments from emails and put them in her computer picture files and also how to attach them to her emails. She made her cheat notes so hope she can do it now. She is almost 93, so I have to give her credit for even wanting to try ;) I got my mail that was forwarded to her. She gave me some black raspberry jelly she just made...YUM!...and a cucumber from her garden.

Well, I'm pretty tired tonight so think I'll check out a couple more threads and get to bed. I started letting Rags sleep with me so he won't bark to wake me up at 6:30. Last night went well, so we'll see if tonight does, too. First guy I've slept with in ages :o

Herschel will climb in from time to time but usually only when it is warm out and he knows that he can get in front of the fan by being on the bed!

My manager was working today. I got my monthly review and as usual, she nit-picked on stupid little things. She even said that one day I was wearing a top that was a little too casual (all my tops are dressy). The top she had on today looked like something from a rummage sale. Several of the girls (including the GM) wear pants that are 3 inches too long and are ripped and ragged on the bottoms, but apparently that is OK. Nothing is said about my friendly attitude, my good haircuts, happy customers, my willingness to stay late when it is busy, switch my schedule around when asked, etc. But God forbid I should forget to sell them some hair gel or say the appropriate greeting or use my hand mirror to show a 5 year old the back of his head!
Then tonight, we got really slammed toward the end of the night and two girls left without saying goodbye (after staying past their scheduled shift) and she broke down in tears to me saying how mad she was at them and that she won't be forgetting this (payback is a real bitch with her!). I told her to take a couple of deep breaths on the way home and try to calm down some. Geeze!! I can't imagine how her husband deals with her!

I have tomorrow off and have a list 2 pages long of things to do!

Gotta get to my warm cookies now! Haven't even had time to make those for a week! I fit it in tonight tho! I will even share, so help yourself!

I wish Herschel would climb in with me....my ex is named Herschel  Barbie... :( Well, I gave Rags a short haircut tonight so he is a fraction of the dog he was  He feels so good....I hope he feels good to him, too ;) It's the shortest I've ever cut him. I left his hair on his head longer because I think he looks funny when it's short.

I FINALLY GOT PAID TODAY!!! Yee hawwww!!! I practically danced my way to the bank  I paid my bills tonight. Why does that feel so good? I guess it feels even better when there's money left over after I'm done :D My July paycheck will be much smaller so I have to start squeeking now

I stopped in to visit an old Optician friend of mine, Mike, today. Haven't seen him for a couple of years so we were trying to get caught up while he wasn't busy. He's such a nice guy! He said I should go see if Dr. Snodgrass needs help. I used to work with her when I first moved back to Des Moines, 10 yrs ago. She recently opened her own office with an optical shop. Maybe I will stop in and see if she needs part time help. I have been keeping my certification current just in case.

Well, I getter get to bed. Back to work in the morning. The rangers finally cleaned up the fallen tree mess and opened up this end of the park and the comfort station by me, so I will need to slop and mop it now. At least the weather cooled off today and the humidity is going down, too :D I took a beer down and am passing it around...88 bottles of beer on the wall!

Glad you finally got paid! Today was payday for me too. It all goes for rent.

It is good that you keep your certification current. It is always good to have something to fall back on when you need it. I kept my Cosmet. license current for many years even tho I wasn't cutting hair for a long time, and I sure was glad I did since it came in really handy when I got layed off from my corp. job!

Barbie, I thought about you today! I baked some peanut butter cookies and some chocolate chip oatmeal cookies. Got them packed in ice cream buckets to take camping this weekend, if Ronnie and the doggies don't eat all the peanut butter ones before we can leave.

I kept my real estate license renewed for years after I quit working in that field, but then it would have cost me more to take the continuing education classes to return it to active, than it cost to take the whole licensing course over again if I should ever want to do that again. So it made sense to just let it go.

Woohoo - seems like it was payday for a few. And Linda, you were way overdue. So glad you got yours.

Cookies? Did I hear cookies? I'd grab a beer - but too late for me - I need to hit the sack - maybe I'll come in earlier tomorrow night and snag one.

Every time I visit the campfire, I see Fernie's name as the originator, and I am wondering where she is now? Has anybody heard anything from her lately? And then there's Barbzie, too....I always wonder how she is doing and how she is.

The past few nights have been campfire weather here, for sure.....only problem is, I have no one to share a fire with, so haven't made one!

Barbie, it sure does sound as if your boss has real psychological problems. I would take things she tells you as a grain of salt from now on.

Glad Linda finally got paid!

As it's now morning, I will pass on the beer until later!

Soos, our minds run alike, everytime I look in here and see Fernies pic, I think of her and wish she would check in sometime. i did get to meet her at the Nashville GTG last Oct., seems she said then she wouldn't be on here much. Sure have missed her though.

Linda, I am so glad you finally got your money. I was beginning to get worried for you. This day and time, not getting paid, is NOT good.

Barbie, hang in there, sounds like you have a manager, like my last one was

Fires a little warm for me, even with my A/C running :D Enjoy

Because that is all I ever get to eat anymore! Whenever I make anything to eat at work, I have to run and do a few haircuts while it is in the microwave, and by the time I get to it, it is cold again, so goes back in the microwave... By then end of the day, I end up throwing it out. I come home late and don't feel like cooking, so I just bake a few cookies with a glass of milk and go to bed! I have lost 10 pounds since I started this job!

Man, I wish I could live on chocolate chip cookies and milk and look like you! Dang. But the sooner you can get to eating healthier, the better off you'll be. You get your butt down to the AR GTG - we'll fatten ya up!!!

Seems like I remember Fernie posted an explanation why she wasn't posting some time ago. I don't remember the exact reason now.
I've brought an icy cold watermelon to share and think I'll sit awhile.

Barbie, I wish I could eat a cookie diet and lose weight - but in your case, you need to be eating some healthier foods - how about taking some fruit to work with you? Or breakfast bars? Or healthy drinks with protein, etc? Then I wouldn't mind you eating so many cookies, too - but you're going to get sick - and we don't want to see that! And you could make a sandwich - that if you just get a bite now and then - will be good for you also. Or a salad. Geez, I'm full of ideas for eating on the run, aren't I?
