SATURDAY AGAIN!

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

SATURDAY AGAIN!

Ruckus shelter as the sun comes up this morning. I need to move stuff out there for cooking, sitting, etc.----in CASE it should rain!

View from in front of my trailer at sunrise today....looking past my giant mullein plant! The white things in the grass are Molly's wireless underground fence boundaries.

GOOD MORNING TO ALL!

As I am going for blood work today, I am fasting, and dying for a cup of coffee! This will be a fast morning post, as I have a ton of stuff to do today-----blood tests, maybe getting a skin thing removed from my shoulder, making upstairs beds, moving stuff into huge shelter, mowing----always the mowing!----taping the wire-riser pole with gorilla tape to make sure it will be strong enough to hold those wires high enough for the highest rigs arriving, swamping out party barn one more time and tidying up outside party barn area, making sure Duckhouse Pub is in shape, going to the dump, returning cans and bottles to boy scouts, and on and on!

One other person has sent appologies for not being able to make the Ruckus---we shall miss him.

Off I go now to get bled and checked and whatever else I can get done today. I hope you all have a great day, wherever you may be, and that you will stop by and let us know what's up! The coffee I cannot have yet is ready for you all!

Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!

Soos, I hope they leave enough blood for you to come back home and raise 'billy ned' down at the party barn. Got up to help my friend, Melody, get off for a day of birding. We had a great day with a client family from Chicago and their sister from Houston. Had close to 70 species on a very slow, sprinkly but cool (upper 60's) day in the Catalina Mountains. I have commitments today so had to miss the trip to the Huachucau Mountains for hummingbirds. Will do some rearranging of things in the rig. I find staying with my friends and having the rig in the yard that I just drop stuff in the rig and come back to the house. Now I have to go put that stuff up. The coffee here this morning is a blend of French Vanilla and Breakfast Blend. Since it is nearly 5:00 here in AZ, I'll go take in the sunrise and moon set unless he has already gone down. I'll have a second cuppa for you Soos as I am sure some of the other sistahs will, too.

Safe travels, fun times today for all.

When I read the "Saturday Again" title I thought of Soos and retirement. With retirement the week rolls around to Saturday and you have to mentally remind yourself it IS Saturday....'cause Saturday just another wonderful day :P with the potential for more adventure :D :D :D

Good morning from the Nevada desert. Chilly this morning after a hot yesterday driving across America's Loneliest Road. Watched a near full moon rise last night over the elk viewing area where we're boondocked. No elk, but plenty of howling coyotes woke us in the night. Since we're hot anyway, we decided to swing down to Bryce & the North Rim as we continue our adventures back eastward. We'll get to say hello to Echo & Kelly & perhaps meet some of Sparkle's friends there.

The sun is peeking over the mountains...things are sure to heat up fast. Hope you all have a great day...traveling or at home....do something that lifts your heart today.

Liz, maybe you'll meet Alien Roxie! I've been wondering about Echo & Kelly they haven't posted for awhile hope all is going well for them.
Soos, how many are you expecting for the Ruckus and how long does it last, or will that be until you run out of The Recipe!!
I'm downloading an update to my iPhone that is taking a long time, I'm hoping I won't have to relearn a lot of new stuff. But then maybe that will keep my mind challenged while staying inside out of the heat. I think there is hope for a break starting tomorrow with a promise of rain, maybe this time will be our turn.
For all you who are Mad Men fans the new season starts tomorrow night!!! If you haven't seen it I think you all might like it. The story line started in early sixties about an advertising company in NYC. The sets and the clothing styles are so perfect to the period. Typical of the time, the division of work was entirely by sex, it has now moved on to where women are moving into the 'men's' territory. Good romance and the family life is worked into the plot.
Safe journeys to all.

I recognize Saturdays cuz the cg gets so full and I look forward to Sunday when they leave :) Seriously. I got my new inflatable kayak late yesterday afternoon. Sometime today I'll see about inflating it, etc. But won't probably try using it till Monday - maybe later on Sunday - when the waters aren't filled with the power boats and speed demons, etc that the weekends bring. Things are upside down when you don't have to wait for the weekends to do everything :)

Just had about 20 (or more) birds around my bird feeder. I counted at least 7 different varieties - including a cardinal. Tried to open my window to get a decent picture, but that scared most of them away (it isn't totally silent). What was neat - is at least 4 varieties were eating at once from it. The mourning doves don't come up to it - just wander around on the ground.

Yesterday I made a fast trip to New Orleans. I got up at 3:30 to bring my son to meet the guy on his work crew that he rides with. The guy shows up at 6:00, an hour late, gives my son the equipment and says he's not going. Don't call us and let us know so we can make other arrangements. We were an hour from home so it would have made him 2 more hours late if he had brought me home so I brought him to New Orleans. I should have let him drop me somewhere and take my van but I was so mad I wasn't thinking. It would have taken me half a day to get in touch with my DH to come get me anyway. I told him to tell his boss that if he didn't bring him home he would have to adopt him.

I ordered a new door for my washing machine. This will be the second new door in 4 and a half years and I have had the current one taped for over a year. See if I buy another Maytag. It's a front loader and the door is too heavy for the thin plastic over the hinge holding it on.

Looks like Bonnie is going to fizzle out, thank goodness. It's a wake up call for the things we need to do in case we have another bad hurricane. We have things stored in our old house and I need to get some shelves built above the flood level so it doesn't have to be washed again.

Think I'll stay home today and stay out of the heat. Yesterday the traffic was so bad in town. I don't know if it was from people getting ready for a storm or school shopping.

Saturday is once again a workday for me. I am so happy to finally be back to work!!! I will be even happier when I ft my June paycheck. Not used to being paid once a month and not knowing when, exactly. It is definitely a test of my patience

DD and GKs are on their way so need to hit the shower. We are going out for pizza (DD is helping to pay) and then we are heading to Verizon to put me on their family plan. That will save me some money. Have to make some cutbacks.

Would love to share all the rain with hose of you who need it! Yesterday and today yielded yet another 1 1/2" of unneeded wetness. The lake and river are once again rising  The inflatable bladders on the dam gates have now failed so there goes our extra needed depth allowance! If I have to evacuate again, I'm heading to the temp agencies!

You sure can squeeze a lot in one day, Soos! I love your place and sure wish I could make it to the Ruckus!!! It sounds like a blast!!!!!

Linda, you must really like your employer. I would call or email these folks: http://www.dol.gov/whd/contact_us.htm and find our for sure just how long they really have to pay you. Something is fishy there - really is - or they just are playing a game with paychecks. I know I'd have called 3 weeks ago - and wouldn't be back working. No one plays with my money like that. Of course, I guess you can look at it as enforced savings - but not unless they pay you interest!

Or contact: www.iowaworkforce.org -
To contact the wage payment collection and minimum wage staff:

Pat Stewart, Secretary (515) 281-8464 Patricia.Stewart@iwd.iowa.gov
Nick Cicero, Executive Officer 1 (515) 242-5869 O.Cicero@iwd.iowa.gov

Find out just what they can/can't do. If they are entitled to what they are going - it still stinks.

AFternoon! Really heating up in the PNW this weekend!
Took the GDs home yesterday as the 10 yr old had promised her friend she'd attend the fair with her last night, so I got a good night's sleep.
My AC is doing it's job. PTL!! So glad I had that installed instead of redoing my back yard fence.
Tomorrow AM I'm going to watch my DD run her first triathalon. She will be 40 this fall! Good for her, I say! Afterward my two GDs are running the kids version. Should be intesting...
Then I'll stop by the storage place and bring home Little Missy as I'm taking her out for a few days to the Columbia River to an RV park that has a swimming pool. That way my GDs can visit and swim. Should be fun but it's not really my kind of CG. I prefer more trees and trails. This is more for resort type folks. Hope I remember my camera....
Redetotry: I did the upgrade for the iPhone and it messed up the camera part. My SIL says some guys at his work are complaining, too. So don't be in a hurry to upgrade till they come up with a fix! All the pictures I took of my GDs picking berries are sideways when I send them to the computer and when I try saving them my computer doesn't recognize the file etc. Just frustrating as #!$#! Excuse my French.... :o
Looking forward to everyone's latest GTG pictures!
Stay safe!
