FRIDAY WITH SOME SUN

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

FRIDAY WITH SOME SUN

Postby Nasoosie » Fri Jul 23, 2010 6:59 am

GOOD MORNING TO ALL!

A cool, but sunny, morning, so far, with the sunrise burning off the morning mist again. It's about 57 degrees. Supposed to shower again later, however. I hope I get to finish that mowing after the morning dew dries off and before the afternoon showers!

I see that some friends of mine are staying for another week at their campground.....and now I am wondering if I should try to haul my trailer there and spend some days, also. But the Ruckus is almost here, and I am nervous about having everything done. Shall I---shan't I??? And I, too, want to spend some nights at the leanto, while it's warm. This retirement stuff is confusing with so many options! I will certainly, however, make a trip to visit with my truck one day early next week, as I will be going back to the RV dealer to pick up my 30 amp outside plug-in I had to order. I believe I would not be comfortable lolling at a campsite when I know I have a lot to do here, but a visit would be great! If I wait until next Tuesday or Wednesday, when that electrical thing should arrive, I can do two things in one trip.

The thing that many do not realize is how much I love camping right here on my own campsites....I can camp on a pond which is beautiful, and yet still be able to get some work done each day on the property. I need to cut saplings with a brush saw, stain the outside of my house, get stuff all set up for the GTG, mow some more, get in supplies for food for the Ruckus, and much more. And, best of all, it costs me nothing to camp here! I hope that Cedar and Kathy and anyone else know that they are more than welcome to camp right here, too....I think Kath could park at the pond with no problem, as I watched her manoever that trailer around last year! And I know they could turn it around to come back up here, too.

Richard-the Roofer might come here early, and I haven't heard lately from anyone else. Guess I'd better bump the GTG thread back up to the top so it will turn yellow and people will click on it!

Was chatting with my granddaughter all morning---she is the daughter of my first child I gave up for adoption in 1965. She has two kids now, and it's wonderful that I get to know her at last. The Facebook chat thing is the best feature of it, as far as I'm concerned.

Well, now-----my wireless zapper fence that I have set up surrounding this trailer just got its first major test! Molly was outside with her zapper collar on, saw a whitetail deer, ran, full-speed after it, got zapped, actually stopped in her tracks! I turned the fence off, and she slunk back home without continuing the chase! It is set on its lowest zap level, too, as she is so frightened of getting zapped.....I have always thought if a deer came by, she would be gone until she dropped of a heart attack somewhere! I am elated that I bought this a couple of years ago now! That was the ultimate test!

Ok, after that excitement, I need to get another cup of coffee and get moving here. The sky is no longer clear and sunny but overcast and grey. Oh well...never lack of stuff to do.

Dayspring is alone again, but sounding not quite as lonely as she thought she might be! Glad your daughters helped you over a difficult time, and gave a hand with cleaning out the dreaded 'stuff!'

Sigh----off I go. Stop in and let us know what's going on elsewhere. Later........
Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!

Wasn't able to sleep last night - so I'm sure I'll be napping later. But when I realized it was 5 - I got Peaches up and we walked down to the water - watched the sun come up over the bluff. It was light out by the time that happened - as the sun had risen behind the bluff. It was so beautiful and peaceful (yes I did take some pictures - will upload them and try to get them on my blog later today). And at that early hour I saw blue herons (including pics) and I'm pretty sure a cormorant flying right over my head.

It was so peaceful - and beautiful (I think I said that, but is worth repeating).

Only once since moving to this park have I seen a squirrel make it's way up my birdfeeder. Ha - another did just now while typing this. He scared away easily enough- but I'm sure he/she will be back. When I see that, I'm going to have to do my finagling again to keep them off.

Have a great day, all.

Got out early and walked a bit as it's going to be blistering out there later, the headline on the morning paper said "Don't expect any relief from heat soon" said at least another 2 weeks!! The gardens will all be toast by then I don't remember weather like this going on for so long. If we do get a cool day I'm heading to upper Michigan. Right now it is just too hot to face the drive.
Soos I say go camping with your friends, I bet your company would help get the site ready when they get there if you don't have it all done.
I had trouble sleeping last night also and from all the early AM posts suspect I wasn't alone. Beth at least took pictures I just annoyed the dogs with the TV.

Good Morning Ladies! It is 83 heading for 91 here with a heat index of over 100... no doubt they will have heat advisories out later... check on your elderly neighbors lol remember to do that and remember I am elderly also... lol

Red where in Illinois do you live? I am in Normal...

Yes Soos it is a bit quiet here Shadow misses Sekana... she played with him every day... but it was time for her to go home as she was missing her friends...

My friend Jere in Michigan went to the doctor and the cancer is not advancing so they are not going to do chemo right now... I am not sure about cancer but never have heard of it stopping... it certainly took my sister in a heartbeat... :(

Soos my vote is to go visit for a few days!!! remember never do today what you can put off until tomorrow!

I am not sure what this day holds but will take it as it comes... have had two cups of coffee so am awake now... May each of you face the day with the wind at your back and the sun on your shoulder....

Good morning Ladies!

I am off today (have been all week) and so slept in till 8:45 this morning. Don't really have anything on the agenda except to figure out something for dinner. Ron is working this morning here at the Portland Shop and then this afternoon the ride guys are all going to Hillsboro to start the set up for the Washington County Fair next week.

This is our last quiet week before the busy busy time of Fairs and Festivals.

The weather is overcast this morning but should burn off by this afternoon.

Wishing everyone a great day!

Good-afternoon to you all !! I have been online here, but started in the GTG section. Hard to believe, I got so far behind in one day, everyones, into everything on here

I started the day early, but am sure slower then usual. Not sure why, but age keeps creeping into my mind :) But I tend to think its just soooo hot. I finally got out and washed my car, which is usually not a bad job, or tiring either. I was pooped and wasn't quite sure I could finish it. Its a small car !!! And I am very stubborn. Its done, but I was exhausted and probably won't amount to much the rest of the day, which is not good. Nothing outside, temp is going to be near 100 here in the mts and heat index higher, so inside in the A/C for the rest of the day for me.

Nothing much happening here, too hot and I'm too lazy !!! Have read a couple of great books, I'm one of those people when I start a good book, I have to keep with it, until its done. Didn't even turn the t.v. on yesterday, last night either. Stayed up way to late past two nights too. Sometimes I am so badddd, but you know, I really enjoy being able to do what I want to. Nap is probably in order later on, but then maybe not.

I hope you all have a great day, whatever is on your agenda, enjoy it thoroughly. We only have this one day, if we treated each day as the only day, what a wonderful life we each would probably have, our choices of what we would do with it, would I am sure be better. So enjoy, stay cool, and for those traveling, stay safe on the roads.

Afternoon ladies. Not much happening here, as it's still to hot to do much. The weatherman said that the excessive heat index is getting smaller. (they have a map of the area showing where the areas on the chart are.) We should probably come off the chart by the end of the weekend. This is only because the dew point will be lower. The temp will still be 95-97. We should also see some rain from TS Bonnie some time next week as well, although they are not calling for temp relief. Stay cool and hydrated everyone.

Soos, you are such a busy woman. I know you will get it all done for the GTG and if not, so what? Everyone will still have a great time.

Afternoon!
Carol, after you read a book you should go to the Book Talk thread and do a review on it. I would be interested in what you were so interested in as I might enjoy it, too.
Right now I'm reading a romance/mystery. Kinda like a Harliquin type book. Hey, it was free on the Kindle so why not. It actually isn't too bad a read.
I have my 2 GDs again. Actually I called yesterday AM and asked if they could spend the night with me! :o What was I thinking?!? Actually I had promised them we'd go blueberry picking this summer and happened to see that the place was open for u-pick time so that is what we did before it turned hot yesterday. We ended up with 11 lbs!! The berries are plentiful this year but the owners said that the birds are the worse they'd ever seen! They have installed a preditory bird call to help with scaring them away. I did see many huge berries with the backsides eaten off.
Today I'm thinking it may get hot enough that my new AC will be put to use. It's so nice to get all the portable fans out of the house and stored in the garage. No more air blowing on me as it really does a # on my sinuses/allergies.
Another neighbor heard that I was wanting to fix my backyard cedar fence on one side where a post is rotting, and he came and looked and offered his son to fix it for me. How sweet is that?! I also had my other neighbor (the one suffering from stage 5 (?) colon cancer, offer to do the same, but two days ago they found the cancer is back and he'll probably have more surgery. I haven't heard the results of his last PET scan. Keep that family lifted.
I got a call from another neighbor's daughter that her Mom (Marion), was out of milk and could I get her some? Last week the daughter and son had to disable her car as Marion is suffering from first stages of dementia and also scoliosis (sp?). She is a dear, dear lady and everyone adores her. As her daughter recently move to the next town and still works, she is unable to run errands so I said I'd help.
Ok, I'm needed! Beth, looking forward to your sunrise pics. I took pics with my iPhone of the berry picking but with the latest update I now send pics to my computer and they are sideways and I can't use my usual program to fix them and save them to a format that photobucket uses. All very confusing right now. Hope it's a glitch and not just something I've done, and there will be a patch sent out to fix it. :)
Ok stay cool!
