That was how we played it too. The gifts were wrapped, you chose either a gift someone already had and was unwrapped or you chose from the pile of wrapped gifts.

Vickie, that is the way I've played it too. Keeps the suspense of not know what you are getting until it's opened and then the stealing can begin.

COUNT ME IN! Yep, just made my reservations for site 26 right across from the other Carolyn. Notice I didn't say the "nice" Carolyn because I meet her I'm the "nice" Carolyn.

I'm probably gonna be up for Branson too but I'll have to work on that. I am a Branson "virgin." Sharon you can be my mentor for that place.

I'm so excited I'll get to meet some new folks but most I have already met. Notice how far away I am from the girls??? Not by plan, it's just that I waited too long. Party, party, party!!

A club I belong to plays that game at our Christmas party. You put a number in a container for how many are playing to see what order you get to pick. The gifts are wrapped to start out. The first person picks one of the gifts and unwraps it. The next person can pick a new gift or steal the one that has been opened. If your gift is stolen you can pick a new gift or steal someones gift but you can't take the gift that was just stolen back. We had to put a 3 steal limit on a gift or it would go on forever if there is something everyone wants. It's a lot of fun and laughs.

Theda hasn't decided yet. She probably won't 'cause she is still a working woman. LOL Did we put a $$ limit on the gift?

Well I think we have a consensus to steal "unwrapped" gifts....it does put more pressure on being creative in the gifting. As far as $$ limits...I was thinking inexpensive--- no more than 5-10 dollars. Personally I think cheaper the better ;) The last thing we want is for someone not to participate because of a tight budget.......Flamingo thingy, or a re-gifted thingy (we all have some of those :) ) or something useful to RV'ers, funny or tastee..... a Goodwill or yardsale find :=), or home made....the idea is the creativity and an excuse for the game itself  ....

So, the gifts will start out wrapped, right? First person to choose it unwraps it?
Draw numbers for draw order?

And The Carolyn Coolers are already on my list!!!! Woo-Hoo!!!

Do you think You-Know-Who will get so obnoxious that we'll ALL get kicked out of the park?

With this many people, if we get kicked out, they'll have a drop in their annual income, LOL. I think we'll be fine, except for a certain someone...I think it's because she's so short and close to the ground that her voice echo's off of everything so loudly. :?

Being the anal person that I am, I would like to give some thought (well in advance, obviously...I'm the consummate planner) for Diabetes Friendly Foods for our GTG.

I'm not going to list the people I think are diabetic (besides me) because I don't want to be wrong...that's how rumors get started!!!

Are there any other food/health issues that also might need our attention...(just remember, though, Vickie's from the South, so there ain't nuttin' healthy comin' out of her kitchen...tasty & delicious? YES YES YES. Healthy? Not quite so much! (oh, I do hope she brings those Louisiana sausages (boudain?) that she brought to our house...OMG - they were soooo good and not horribly bad for you! Vickie???? Ya hearin' this?

Low sodium?
Low fat?
Low cholesterol?
Kosher?
Vegan?
Vegetarian?

I can just as easily put together a healthier dip or whatever, but if you prefer to blow your health to the wind for the GTG, that's not a problem, either!

Your wishes are our command!

PS: If anybody's in the mood to try a Pie Iron meal, just let me know. I have 3 cast iron irons (?) I can bring. The hell with the weight...I'll live dangerously! And besides, George isn't coming, so that means I'll have any extra 147 pounds available to carry!!!!

Sorry, I'm pretty much a Branson virgin too....the only thing I remember about it was so much traffic it took us an hour to go less than a mile! I would pretty much bet the farm, tho, that they frown on dancing on any of the bars. :(

And, oh yeah,.....WAHOOOOOO!! CAROLYN'S COMING!!!

I guess I'm considered pre-diabetic and of course there's always the hypoglycemia I've been dealing with for the last 25 years, but I pretty much eat anything and I can always find something to eat at a potluck . You know from experience I'm pretty much a garbage disposal when it comes to food as long as there's a lot of it!
