I think you've met 4 more on the road - was nice to meet you while you passed through Huntsville. And glad to have you become a member. Your trip has been wonderful - even if it seems to be going fast - faster and soon to be over.

Welcome to the forum and you are so lucky to be traveling with Liz. I have met Liz twice and I so want to follow her when she comes through Louisiana. She can find the best places to see and camp. She is an inspiration to all of us.

SO glad that you followed Liz down the traveling road this summer and know that life beyond the classroom can be good! It takes good teachers awhile to accept that :) I understand when teaching means so much. Even the prep for the coming year can take a lot of time and creative energy much less the summer assignments..... Look forward to seeing you down the road again, or at least we will keep you up late on a school nite come some January gtg in the near future!

Hi there, glad you joined this wild and crazy bunch! What grade and subject do you teach? DH is a HS Chemistry teacher and I am an Elem. School Secretary. We thought we were gonna have more time this :( "summer break" to venture out but I have been called back now and then to cover the office. Sounds like you are having fun with Liz tooling down the road! When you all get back here to sunny FL, we must get our heads together and plan a GTG..have fun and keep us posted...

You should have joined sooner, Ms Beachy and you would have had a chance to go to the GTG last year in Ocala  That doesn't preclude having another one this year. I "loved2teach" for 30 years, and actually-although I hate to admit it-miss it sometimes. Not the paperwork, but definitely the kids and watching their reaction when the light bulb went off or when they just had a good day. Guess I could always sub, but definitely not the same. carold

Welcome, Welcome, I do believe I know you. I am so glad you are enjoying yourself. Think I might have told you that last winter, you never know what you've missed until you do it. I am so glad you did go, and you know its great when a teacher has seen places, first hand, some are so awesome and you may be able to pass some of the "wonder of all the sights" off on to your students". I've enjoyed your pix on FB too. You'll have fun here, and already have lots of friends among us.

Enjoy the rest of your trip!!

WELCOME TO THE FORUM, teacher! I, too, loved to teach for more years than I ever thought was possible, but am now retired as of July 1st. You and Liz have had one amazing cross-country trip, and I, one day hope to have Liz as my tour guide, too! I will probably meet you in FL this winter, as that is my plan----to spend the snowy season down there!
Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!
