Have you seen the golf carrier that goes on the back bumper of a car? Would leave you room on the top for other things :) Not sure it would work for a long trip tho - but I think you were trying to avoid having to add a hitch, right? Cuz the one I'm thinking of requires that: http://www.pickupspecialties.com/Game_D ... arrier.htm

So relieved to hear you are OK, Barbie. Was seeing MN in the news tonight after the storms. Lots of tree damage down here. Ames got it bad! It was a bumpy ride, but Myrtle kept us safe ;) Maddie and I huddled under my covers together :D Things tossed around a bit outside, but found everything. Sure glad I didn't have the awning out  Tonight is supposed to be a storm free night so we can rest peacefully...ahhh!

Please be nice, Barbie, when posting the pics of your visit  I know I looked like crap in the heat! I know they won't be as good as our photos from our mini golf outing ;) I still love looking at those in my photo frame :D

GD and I tried out a closer Church and stayed for their Church picnic. Lots of yummy food and met a few nice people. When we got home, we read a little and took a much needed nap, after our interrupted sleep last night. Jeanie...the other female custodian out here...invited me to a cookout tonight. We used one of the shelters and everyone except Jeanie had dogs. It was nice to let them run loose since the recreation area is still closed. Rags had a blast with all of the dogs. Including Rags, there were 6 dogs...fun! GD spent some quality time with her grandpa while I was at the cookout so it was nice to have some adult conversation. She would have been bored, anyway, and enjoyed her visit with Grandpa and Gizmo. A friend of Jeanie's hinted pretty strongly that she would like to work out here part time as a custodian. I think Jeanie told her that I will probably need help next summer. It's a definite possibility.

Well, I better do a little job searching while my computer is working :o I already had some problems with it yesterday, so who knows? Keep the fire stoked, girls!

Pics are finally posted on the B&B thread!! Took forever to upload to photobucket! Geeze! And, Linda, I look way worse than you! Your hair never even got sweaty! Mine was soaked even before we left on the bikeride that morning! Sure had a great time!

Glad to hear you didn't get any damage from those storms. It was the same line of storms that came thru here last night. Very bad! We lucked out as well. No damage here. There was golf ball sized hail just a mile from here tho and a tornado about 6 miles west of me.

The fireworks that were cancelled last night, were shot off tonight and I missed them! I could here them so I ran down to the dock but wasn't able to see them from here :(

Hope everyone else is safe and cool tonight!

That is pretty cool! But does require a hitch. I bought a compact traveling golf bag on Ebay last week. It shouldn't take up much room in the carrier if I get one. I want to keep the move as simple and stressfree as possible. I figure the money I save on a hitch and trailer ($650+), I can use to replace whatever I can't fit in the car or carrier once I get out there, plus I will save on gas mileage and stress!

I have a new favorite song! Don't know the name of it but they play it all the time on the radio. It is probably called "California" since that is repeated a million times in the song. It is inspiring me to get out there!

Wow... :o Hadn't realized how long it's been since I've sat by this soon to be 2 year old campfire....AHHHHH...it feels so good...The summer's been busy with kids, running up state to help with my Mom, and planning the PA GTG...Can't wait...it starts this Sunday!!!!

So I've come with some re-stock of supplies.....firewood, wine, smores makings, cookies, Baileys, hot dogs, and of course...."ta da"....99 bottles of beer on the wall....

The hot tub looks great, but will just sit by the fire and relax with a couple of beers....

99 bottles of beer on the wall, 99 bottles of beer..............
I took 2 down and sipped them down....
97 bottles of beer on the wall..................... ;)

Isn't it great how long we've kept this campfire going. And we're going to KEEP it going - as long as this site lives - so does this wonderful campfire.

California Girls by Katy Perry? Love that song!

Had a great day with my buddy Evie (Pooker) today...we hit 3 casinos and 1 buffet. But what a buffet! Best one I've ever been to in a casino other than Spirit Mountain in Oregon. I'm so stuffed so don't think I'll help myself to food and no room for a beer, either. We did good, Evie's even and I'm down 20, plus we got caught up on each others lives. We only live 12 miles apart but just can't seem to find the time to GTG more than 3 or 4 times a year. Haven't seen Donna since Feb or so and she's only about 50 miles away. It's cooled off here, so maybe I'll jump in the hot tub for a few. Hope everyone has a great nite!
