FRIDAY ALREADY??

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

FRIDAY ALREADY??

Postby Nasoosie » Fri Jul 16, 2010 7:05 am

GOOD MORNING ALL!

It's overcast and about 70 degrees here so far today----perfect weather! Molly is out watching rabbits (way too tame for their own good as they come up very close here in the yard) with her zapper collar on and her wireless zapper fence transmitter activated. She is terrified of getting the slight shock I have her collar set for, so we shall see ho wlong she can resist chasing after the bunnies! I have to keep a close lookout for deer, however, as I KNOW she couldn't resist chasing them!

All is working well with my new electrical hookup, the one in the house I rigged up yesterday. I haven't needed my AC since I've been home, and I almost never use that anyway. It has to be triple digits before I turn that baby on! I am one who always wears fleece jackets in those air conditioned stores I enter.

Today I will work on the leanto, after I mow some grass here. The wild growth spurts of the spring have slowed down a bit, I am noticing, so mowing sessions can be farther apart. If that cold front and storms arrive that they are predicting, I will head to town to return my useless (to me) 20 amp extension cord, go to the bank, and pick up a few groceries. Other than that.....where on earth is July going????? How can it be the middle of the month already? Retirement just makes the time go by even faster, it seems.

BP's news this morning is more optimistic than usual----I sure hope they can completely seal that dang thing off.

Earthquake in DC today---rare for that place. The one we had here a short time ago may be responsible for a water leak in a local town's water system, so those people have been without water for a while now. That would suck in this heat. Although, we have enough streams and lakes to lug water home for both drinking, after boiling, and bathing and washing. Just a bit more work involved.

It sounds as if many are having a fun summer with grandkids...sure do wish I had some to camp with me!

Time to get moving here, check email and more. Coffee is hot, so stop by and check in with us!
Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!

Good morning ladies,
finally Friday! another week done, two to go.
Its just past 5 am and the air conditioner is already running. More heat warnings out
for today. Hope my ac holds up.
No plans today other than doing a little "purging" of the bathroom cabinets, you know
the routine, toss out old medicnes, old makeup, old everything! Also have little baskets
that have stuff tossed down in the bottom, need to dump that out as well as the little
drawer that has all my hair thingies in it. Shouldn't take too long but I'm sure I'll get
so wrapped up in it that it will take me hours. :P but it needs to be done.
Watch a little retro tv, saw a bunch of old programs yesterday I forgot existed.
Remember that old program called "Emergency" fire dept rescue guys and they always
had Rampart on the phone checking vitals and such before they would transport.
Then of course there's all the old westerns, Wagon Train and Rifleman. Also saw
an old episode of Ironside, now thats old, reminded me of my childhood when my
mother used to watch Perry Mason. Rockford Files was on, and I was hoping they
would show Magnum PI but no such luck. Makes me wonder what some of those
actors are doing today, if they're dead or still alive, etc.
Ok, coffee is ready and the toaster is out. Stop by and tell us what your plans are
or just whatever is on your mind.
Enjoy your day and be safe

Morning!
Popped awake at 4  ! I should get off this thing and try getting in a few more zzzzzzs as I will feel it later, especially with the GDs here for an overnighter.

Just catching the weather. Highs for the next couple days, 78. Then down into the 60s w/chance of rain. This is July!?!

Having my coffee but for some reason it isn't hitting the spot. Not hungry yet, either. I did start the crockpot, making Italian beef.

Wishing everyone a great day! Stay cool, Ava!

Good Mornin All!

A lazy morning for me today, having my coffee and it is good, not much planned for today. School is closed on Fridays during the summer, so 4 of us gals are taking one of our co-workers out to lunch. She just had a knee replacement done and is feeling like she is ready to get out and get moving again. Hitting Applebees (try their quesadilla burger, it is to die for)....lots of chit chat and laughs when we all get together...then just hanging in the pool later on.

Hope you all have a wonderful day!

Seems like forever since I've joined the morning coffee! I did post on the campfire last night from my computer, but I'm laying her in bed with my Droid this morning, being lazy. I'm wondering if I will finally get word today on if I'm going back to work this weekend or when I get to move back to my site. Still waiting for my June paycheck so have been using my credit card again. At least I paid it off when I got paid for May. I just hate to have to use it!

Maddie won't have swim lessons tonight so I told her we could have a campfire and roast weenies and s'mores. Maybe we will invite the next door neighbors over. Have been getting to know them and they seem nice. They will probably have a GK over, too, so Maddie could have someone besides adults to talk to.

I better go walk Rags. He's cussing me out for being so late! Have a great day, girls!

Good-morning ! If I make this short, it will still be morning, Just had to let you all know, saw Dr. yesterday and he has let me go until latter part of Jan. I can do whatever I'd like, which as you all know is just get in my r.v. and head on out of here. BUT I have to get it inspected for state and wash and clean it up, oil change etc., poor thing has set there neglected for months. I think even Dr. was surprised how well I have done, (poor ole lady, ya know :) ) I've healed well, and I feel great and it has to show, because I sure do feel it!!!!! ;) . I feel so Blessed, especially after that experience with the drugs.

So Sept. GTG, is way on top of the Agenda and any other mischief,(trips) I can get into. After saying all of this, I guess my offer to take the pix at that GTG for Sharons, is it Zumba , BECAUSE I have a booboo, IS NOT GOING TO WORK NOW IS IT? :D whatever kind of exercise it is, I should join in. Not sure about shaking the biggest part of me.

Have a GReat day everyone, hard to stay cool, these days, but if you're on the road, Please stay safe, keep that engine cool!!!
Soos, days don't go by fast, because you're retired, they just go by fast, the older we get. I enjoy mine more since I retired, and they're going by faster then ever ;) .
Ava, hope the A/C keeps on going , Lenora, hope you got more sleep for the rest of your day. Linda, hope things get back to normal and you can get back to your job. Some one else has probably posted since I started this :) , Mornings almost gone, Take care all!!

Carol, happy dance going on here also. Great news. Going to be really hot again today. High 90's with heat index to about 115. UGH, this should continue until next week some time. Anyone want some heat, we'll give it away free. :D

Take care and stay cool. Linda

Wow..I need a extra day or to to get ready for this trip.

I keep calling the RV park at Silverwood hoping for a cancellation on a back to back site..so we would not have to move. We have booked at a CG about 7 miles away.
But no luck. I will remember next time..if we plan this again..to make those reservations 4-6 months in advance. But for us it is so hard to plan that far ahead. It will be a few years before we go back. We will have to see. Who knows we might like it so much, that we might make it a yearly trip, as it is not that far away.

I am still working on trailer things. Trying to make things better. I am making crazy fleece blankets for the kids that are made to fit the bunk, along with sheets adjusted to fit the bunks. I think that will make things easier, as their sleeping bags tend to slide off the bunks.

Then getting the menu completed and planned, still have to do the shopping.

I am working on getting more organized...I am putting together inventory lists...by need. Like have a list for what needs to be packed. Normally I pack it up for the season. but since we have only had a couple of trips so far. I have forgotten things so I need to check and make sure I packed in there what we need. Especially the medicine cabinet..we hope we never need those things...but it is better then trying to find them or paying way more at a little corner store.

I am also thinking and considering getting a handicap pass. The DR has asked before if we wanted one. What I have come to realize is that while most times it is not necessary there are a few times that it would be nice to have. The more research I have done on State Parks, most of which we can not stay at, as we need electrical for DH Bi-pap and to make sure Kodie's medication stays at refrigerator temperature..that many do offer hookup sites, but only with valid handicap card. Then part of me wonders...is it wrong to get it for those few times?? I think in part because I have seen and heard the rude comments by people who see someone in a handicap stop when the handicap is not visible. Not sure I am in kind of mood to deal with people like that. KWIM....

Well the sun is coming back out YEAH!!! I was worried that it had left again.

I better get back to work..6 more days and we will be outta here for 11 days....we are going to Winthrop, WA then to Silverwood Theme Park then from there onto Glacier National Park..for a few days. Then head back home.

Kris, Handicaps do NOT have to be visible to be real. You are very deserving of that pass - and you should get it. I'm like you, I don't believe in using things unnecessarily - but you NEED electric - you NEED some of the things that can be provided. So get one.

My two cents.

To give you a clue - I have a friend who had polio (one of the last cases in our country) and she refused to become on the dole of the state. She's always worked - in her wheelchair - and been an advocate that handicapped people don't need to be getting things they can do for themselves. She considers herself normal. (More so than I consider myself :) ) That does not mean she doesn't have a handicap sticker. She simply needs it - she can only get out of her car in certain ways, she needs a handicapped room in a motel, etc.

Get the sticker!
