I highly recommend stopping there.
Herschel and I have stayed there several times on the way to or from daughter in Charlotte. The dogs love the fenced pond for swimming. The trails are nice, several miles, but not very long if you are a real hiker. The owners are the nicest people. He is a master chef of delicious meals (many of their weekend are themed with a specially prepared or catered offerings or sometime a planned potluck) She has dog training experience and is also an artist. If you want to escape for the day to Asheville, Brigette will dog sit the critters to be sure that they get out to the dog yard to play or what ever is safe for them. Their cabins and their rentable rvs are all set up for adults with dogs. About their second or third year they finally just came out and said...really don't bring your kids this place is for adults and their dogs. The kids couldn't take the dogs into the off leash area unless the were over 16 and they have no "playground" ...for kids. For dogs on the other hand they have regulation agility equipment plus play equipment for dogs in another field. They have a fenced fishing pond (no dogs allowed) and a rally set up. All the people I have met there have been very nice but then I have never gone on one of their busy weekends or specialty events.
They are a Passport America park through the week I think (two days max and paid in cash) They also accept Escapee discount and a few others but those are not as big as the Passport America. I have thought that a gtg could be fun there and Asheville, the Biltmore, etc could entertain. Their bathrooms are all private with toilet, sink and shower. And they have dog bathing facilities set up for both big and small dogs. They also have some outside grooming tables set up to assist with doggy beauty!
Check out their web page. I do think that there are a couple of breeds that they are not allowed to rent to unfortunately because of their liability insurance.....
