TROPICAL HEAT TUESDAY

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

TROPICAL HEAT TUESDAY

GOOD MORNING TO ALL!

The heat wave has hit the Adirondacks in a big way! It's already 76 here, and only 7:42 am. They are warning of dangerous air conditions today, due to Ozone pollution, so that, coupled with heat predicted to get into the 90s and triple digits by this afternoon, are going to keep me right here, plugged into my house. I was seriously contemplating driving to VT for the bluegrass festival, but after listening to the weather forecast for today and tomorrow, I am opting to lay low. Molly and I might actually try out my AC in this rig this afternoon-----I really dislike AC, and try to avoid it at all costs, BUT......if I find I can't breathe, and if we need a safe haven later on, on it will go! My generator won't run my AC if I am bondocking in the middle of an unshaded field (as would be at the music fest) so..... Also, if I am to be a Floridian for part of the year, I need to get used to some cooling, anyway, I suppose. We also have the pond to dip into, spring fed and icy cold in spots. I took a bath and washed my hair down there yesterday afternoon, and I came out feeling like a new person!

I managed to get the side lawn mowed last night just before dark, and will mow as much of the front lawn I can do before the heat and air conditions get hostile today. So far, the nice breeze of yesterday is absent, but I heard it will pick up later, A breeze always makes things feel so much better, if you are capable of sweating, anyway, as humans are. Dogs and bears need to get into some cool water or seek shady, cool dens in this kind of weather.

I need to get coffee hour over so I can mow, so this will be short and sweet today. Anybody outside in the east today, be careful out there, and make sure you take your inhalers and whatever you may need to help you breathe better.

Happy Tuesday to all!

Good Mornin all!

It is 8:34 and 74 degrees here in Tampa Bay. Still alittle gloomy out there but it may clear up a bit before the late afternoon storms build up. I have to post something over on the "recipe" board about grilling sausage biscuits....Just laying low for today and I only have to work W & Th of this week and then I am "off" until Aug. 4th or something like that..try not to think that far ahead...hope to get a dip in the pool if the sun comes out. We are having alittle prob with frogs and sleeping at night. We have a little manmade pond/fountain in our backyard and a few of the frogs are not abiding to the "quiet hours"...

Have a great day all!

The last of a huge bouquet of lilies Mandy brought me about 3 weeks ago, brightening up the trailer, where I am ensconced with my (blush  ) air conditioner on! The air pollution is what worries me, as my lungs are so damaged from living with smokers all my life, plus what smoking I did to wreck my own self, too. I will attempt to do a bit of mowing now, knowing I have a haven to return to to recover from no-breath!

It's not too bad here this morning, I did get started later than usual on my walk and finished it inside the house. The little dogs thought they should follow me and help out, they kept racing around and playing tag together, then bringing various toys to further enhance the experience!
Now they are sharing my breakfast they are going to have to settle a bit before they get theirs. My friend has gone back to Florida and they are going to really miss her, I think she has Skype now so they can talk
Soos and everyone else in the heat wave I hope it breaks very soon. I heard from a friend in Princeton, NJ and they said it is 91 at 10:30PM. He works in New York City and the train he takes
is electric with overhead wires, not diesel and in this heat the wires get pulled down because of expansion in extreme heat. I would be staying home the thought of being trapped on a train in that kind of heat would totally panic me!
Off to get the morning started, all my furry friends need grooming. Will have to decide which is in greatest need as I only do one a day.
Good grief Soos, don't hesitate to use your A/C in that heat, believe me when you move to FL you'll kiss that little wonder every day !! The flowers are beautiful wish we had the red color but ours are mostly yellow and orange.

Good morning
hope you ladies in the heat wave get some relieve with ac. I hate the heat too,
and I'm sort of used to it but I still hate it. I feel bad for those that are not
used to it, can imagine if it were to be on the flip side in the winter here and
could be 20, I would totally suffer.
Done with my morning coffee and today I'm a paid chauffeur, gotta run one
of the elderly ladies around for her weekly errands.
Enjoy your day

Good afternoon ladies. Going to be in the 90's today and of course humid. We had a "break" last week due to the rain and saw temps only in the "balmy" 80's. All that will change this week. We have our fair share of ozone alert days here in OK and it is best to stay indoors and definitely run the AC. It will help your breathing Soos. It's also good that you have the pond to cool off in. Molly will appreciate it. Try and stay cool and travel safely. Linda

WE sat in our coats for the 4th fireworks and by Thurs we are to reach near 100! THat is not enough time for a body to acclimatize. I may have to go get my MH and find an RV park so I can have some AC. The heatwave doesn't look to be letting up any time soon, either! The beaches will be slammed this week, but the tourists have stayed away so much that they shop keepers/stores are really hurting from lack of business. Hope this helps them.
Walked my dog earlier. Having someone came pressure wash my driveway/sidewalk later. Youngest GD is staying with me later while her Mom goes to her appt.
That's pretty much my day....
