GOOD MORNING TO ALL!
The heat wave has hit the Adirondacks in a big way! It's already 76 here, and only 7:42 am. They are warning of dangerous air conditions today, due to Ozone pollution, so that, coupled with heat predicted to get into the 90s and triple digits by this afternoon, are going to keep me right here, plugged into my house. I was seriously contemplating driving to VT for the bluegrass festival, but after listening to the weather forecast for today and tomorrow, I am opting to lay low. Molly and I might actually try out my AC in this rig this afternoon-----I really dislike AC, and try to avoid it at all costs, BUT......if I find I can't breathe, and if we need a safe haven later on, on it will go! My generator won't run my AC if I am bondocking in the middle of an unshaded field (as would be at the music fest) so..... Also, if I am to be a Floridian for part of the year, I need to get used to some cooling, anyway, I suppose. We also have the pond to dip into, spring fed and icy cold in spots. I took a bath and washed my hair down there yesterday afternoon, and I came out feeling like a new person!
I managed to get the side lawn mowed last night just before dark, and will mow as much of the front lawn I can do before the heat and air conditions get hostile today. So far, the nice breeze of yesterday is absent, but I heard it will pick up later, A breeze always makes things feel so much better, if you are capable of sweating, anyway, as humans are. Dogs and bears need to get into some cool water or seek shady, cool dens in this kind of weather.
I need to get coffee hour over so I can mow, so this will be short and sweet today. Anybody outside in the east today, be careful out there, and make sure you take your inhalers and whatever you may need to help you breathe better.
Happy Tuesday to all!
