So glad, I just got to catching this thread up today. Way back, when Barbie locked her kitty out and she was peeing on her porch, several pages of laughs there. Something told me not to look in here before this. You guys are really goofy, and I loved it. You're going to be at the Ark GTG too?, guess I better bring extra underwear !!! :D 3 of you, we're sure to get thrown out

To clean grills, try Easy 0ff and put in plastic bag for several hrs. usually just wipes right off. I lay mine out on back deck in bag in the sun. Works great.

Sharon, we need pics of the new hairdo. If the BF likes it, must look great. So show us, PLEASE

To hot for a fire, so glad its down to coals, glad to note no one put more wood on it. Company and chatter, sure was great though :D

The sky at sunset, July 1, 2010.

Happy end of the first day of July 2010 to us all. Happy Canada Day to all the Canadians, too!

Now time for a pistachio muffin and some hot milk!! Plenty to go around, so let's sing around the fire a while!

Gorgeous sunset, Soos.

hahaha Mitch. Doesn't take much to get me to sing- but you'd pay me not to :)

Now, I'm going over to the singles forum to borrow a recipe - that I'm definitely going to try - as I'll be drinking these around some campfires. Soos likes jello shots - that's not for me - but these pudding shooters - that's my kind of drink. Will be in our recipe room shortly.

I worked my butt off today!!! Everyone had to get their haircut today before the long weekend. Lots of people heading up north to cabins for the weekend. I did 29 haircuts today! Most I've ever done in one day! Whew! I also worked 9 hours straight, but got $77 in tips. I work another 9 hours tomorrow. Gotta get to bed soon so I am not too tired tomorow since it will probably be another busy day.

Can't wait to try those pudding shots! Will probably just have a whole bowl full!

I agree, Barbie - what's with 2 oz shooter - give me the big bowl. Or a lot of 2 oz shooters.

now if ya just take the whole bowl we can't call them shooters anymore, we'll have
to call them "bombs" A big chocolate bomb would do me quite nicely.

It was a hot one today and even hotter for tomorrow. Low 90's for tomorrow, more humid and windy. Then cooler and thunderstorms for Sunday and Monday :(

Worked 9 hours yesterday and 9 hours today. I am beat!! I think tomorrow will be a lot quieter especially in the afternoon. Hopefully I will be able to get off at 3. They must really like and trust my haircutting abilities. I originally was told that any "redoes" that come back in will be recut by a manager or assistant manager only. They have been giving the redoes to me the past two days. So far, I haven't had any of my customers come back for a redo. I rarely ever did before, at the other shop either. I am very picky and meticulous with my haircuts tho. My customers like that.

I sure like having the receptionists there! They do just about everything for us but rub our feet! They not only have my station swept up and a clean cape on my chair when I finish checking out a customer, but they bring me combs, neck strips, or anything I need ASAP! They really work their tails off. I wonder how much they are paid? Must be pretty good tho, because they all work equally as hard. Most of them are high school girls. I try to thank them as much as possible and tell them how much I appreciate what they do. They probably don't hear that very often.

Hope you all have a good night and a safe, fun weekend!

Good for you to remember to thank the young gals, Barbie. That goes a long way in building their confidence and self esteem!

Wow, another really busy day today! I think we've given everyone in the Twin Cities a haircut in the past three days! Luckily, I was able to get out of there just after 3pm today during a lul! I took a 2 hour nap when I got home.

It is really hot and humid and windy today! They are still saying chance of storms the next couple days, so we'll see.

I signed up to go to a singles deal for tonight at a bar on the lake (the one that me and Linda went to) but I am so tired now. Maybe I will just go for an hour or so since I already committed to being there.

Hope you all have a great, dry and safe 4th of July where ever you may be!

I actually got to sit at a real campfire tonight! So nice! Love the smell of burning wood! Wish I had some marshmallows!

Spent the afternoon at my sister-in-law's brother's house on the lake. It was cloudy today which was a godsend since it was hot and extremely humid with very little breeze. We had a nice spread of food.

Tonight, I went out on the docks at my apartment to watch the fireworks. From there I can see about 8 displays going on across the lake from various communities. Also, one of the homes across the street had their annual fireworks display. They were really great too and went on for almost an hour! Not sure how they get by with that since most fireworks are illegal here without a special permit. They must somehow be able to get one. I thought only the cities could get those. There were a lot of people down on the docks and along the shore watching this year. The firepit was fully stocked with wood, with a nice fire going to keep the bugs at bay.

Gotta get to bed now. Gotta get up early for work tomorrow! It will probably be quiet tomorrow but you never know...I have yet to see a quiet day there!

It's morning, but the fire is still smoldering while I drink my coffee. It occurs to me that you are going to miss your wonderful waterfront view from your neat apartment, Barbie! I love that lake view!

Work sounds like a whirlwind, each and every day----good that you are making some money and earning an even better reputation as a hairdresser, however.

I'll throw some more wood on here, and leave some iced coffee for those who might stop by today. I need to mow while the heat is just right for it-----about 80 now.

This is a great place to live in the summer but really sucks in the winters! I know why there are a lot of snowbirds that leave here for the winter.

So much for a slow day at work today! I actually got to work an hour early by mistake. I thought I started at 9 but wasn't really scheduled until 10, so I went shopping for an hour. By the time I got back, the place was a mob scene! We were understaffed so it got really crazy busy! My manager was working today. She is getting on my nerves. She always seems mad and never smiles. Whenever she says something to me, it is in a bossy tone of voice. I am paranoid around her. I feel like she is just waiting for me to do something wrong and then pounce on me. Today, one of the girls got real sick and was in the break room throwing up and very upset (emotionally and physically). I went back to see what was wrong and if she was going to be OK. My manager called me back on the floor and told me to get back to work. I told her I was just concerned about Niki and wanted to make sure she was OK. She said not to worry about her. I was not happy about that. You can run a busy shop and still have a little compassion and decency! I just keep reminding myself about the money I am making and the fact that I will be leaving for California in a few months!

I bought a tarp for under my tent, and a can of waterproofing spray, and a couple of folding chairs on sale, so I should have everything I need now. I am going to try to set my new tent up on Wednesday (my day off) at my brother's house if the weather is decent.

Gotta call my pet sitter tonight and make arrangements for next week. I may decide to leave my ferrets with her when I move since that would be more convenient than bringing them out to Denver, but need to see if she is interested. She is very good with ferrets and owns several of her own.

Have a good night!
