BEEYOOTIFUL SATURDAY!!

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

BEEYOOTIFUL SATURDAY!!

GOOD MORNING TO US ALL!!

What another gloriously beautiful morning it is, indeed! Perfectly clear skies, 56 degrees and rising, nice moderate breeze to keep bugs down and provide cooling----what more could a retired person hope for!

Molly and I decided to stay in the trailer last night rather than the tent outfit, however, as it got very cool when the sun went down----down to about 41 degrees.

My daughter checked in last night from PA, from where she will leave today rather early to head back here for the 4th celebratory weekend. Today my jobs are to clean the party barn, along with mowing the front lawn. The next several days are predicted to be with temperatures in the mid to upper 90s! My generator is not powerful enough to run my AC, if I should need it, in VT, although a fan might suffice. However........

I am thinking it would be a great time to go to Sliver Lake Beach campsite, rather than try to camp in an open field in VT for that Bluegrass festival. I'll have to think about this today as it warms up here. I have tons of bluegrass CDs I can play while being able to swim! For me, the camping is the thing----even more than the live music. And, if I can swim while camping right on the water, that's the best! I may have to call Richard, who thinks I am going to Brandon, for sure. It would be fun to see Cedar and Kathy and Richard, but, if I haul my trailer to Silver Lake, maybe they will stop by there? I know Richard loves it there. How nice to have choices! (And, I could save about 70.00 for the extra camping days and tuition tickets.) Frugality is me now!

Report on Hope the bear cub this morning is encouraging---she is coming less and less for supplemental food as the berries and wild foods ripen in Ely. She looks to be in great shape for a little one on her own. Her mom, Lily, seems to be through with her early estrus cycle, and no males have been spotted pursuing her any more. It would be fun if she would team up with Hope once again, so they could den together. Reports of yearling cubs denning with pregnant mothers are on record, so it's not unheard of. The saga of Hope continues!

Here's hoping you all have a wonderful Saturday doing something fun and outside, if the weather allows. I need to get started on the barn while the grass is drying out!

Happy travels!

Good Morning All from central Indiana. Here too the morning is beautiful. The last three days have been so nice - in the high 70s with low humidity but that ends today - predicted high 90 something for the next few days with lots of humid air......
In June it rained 26 of the 30 days - third wettest June on record!
Oldest son and his wife were here for a week - loved them being here but was glad to see them leave. The older I get the more set in my ways I get. Also with the World Cup on The Driver was glued to the TV and he likes it quiet when watching.
For any of you NASCAR fans - last night was a good night for Dale Jr - I know our son John was doing the Happy Dance with Dale Sr up there.
Today Argentina/Germany game starts soon - this afternoon is Spain/don't remember who and tonight the Cup race -
Broke my sewing machine last week and my quilt is not quite finished - fooey - don't know what it will cost to fix it but will be a lot I think - the needle shaft is bad...but will be cheaper than replacing it.
Enough rambling - updated my blog yesterday with pictures of our new screen porch.
Have a wonderful and safe and cool day...

good morning, more of the same hot weather here, still hoping for some monsoon
activity. My electricity cost me more than $5 yesterday, :o now I have just enough
to get me through to payday. Soos, frugal living is the name of the game for me too.
I literally count what I need to buy in terms of meals for me and the dogs, payday to
payday. Although I miss my freezer at the moment, I do eat lots of fresh fruit and
chilled things from the refrigerator. I don't buy anything I don't absolutely need. That
will change though in September :D
I've learned a few things this year (finally) about staying hydrated and this heat and
sweating, etc. I always thought drinking the water and gatorade was what I needed
to stay hydrated, well, with my legs cramping so badly at night I learned the gatorade
does not replace the SALT I loose while sweating and drinking lots of water only dilutes
the remaining salt in the tissues and then my feet would swell. Found out a glass of
salt water would fix that, who'd a thunk it? Can you imagine doing saltwater shooters?
A couple saltwater shooters, gatorade and water has fixed the problem of nightly leg
cramps. I'm a happy camper now :D
Coffee is good and a little toast for the tummy hits the spot. Enjoy your day.

Mornin Ladies, ahhh, that cup o' joe was extra good today, may have more. We got hooked on Cafe con leche! Nice pick me up in the mid afternoon when you just need alittle somethin, somethin...hahaha...

Warm, 82 already here in Tampa Bay area. Gonna putz around, may cut out a shirt pattern, do some sewing or just be really lazy and veg in the pool until the afternoon rain storms hit, today's is due to start at 2pm....

We were supposed to head out on the boat to meet up with friends at "Beer Can Island", and it is a really nice little spot (not a beer can in sight), but due to the weather, we are staying put. I bet Carol knows this place....

Chat later...

Well we have clouds and rain predicted for our weekend. We usually head to the east side for this weekend. But my niece is coming out to visit..she will get her sometime on Monday. Actually she is coming out as friend's of her's are getting married and she is caterer for the wedding. So I will have a personal chef for the week. She said she would cook for me in trade for room and board for the week. I was not going to turn that down. I thoroughly cleaned out the frig yesterday. DH is going to bring up the little dorm fridge we have from the basement. Then I just have clean and arrange the big freezer and see how empty I can make the upstairs freezer. We also have a beef order we are suppose to pick up. I still have to check with the neighbors in case we need more space.

Other then that we do not have much planned.
DS has baseball camp next week. Speaking of camps/summer programs. He started a weight training/conditioning camp offered through parks and rec, but it is at the high school, instructed by the high school coaches. The coaches all thought he was an incoming Freshman...he told them no, I am only in 7th grade. I guess that is what happens when you have a 5"8' 13 year old.

Other then that I hope to get some mods done to the trailer before our big trip to Montana. We decided not to fix the smaller cabinet doors on the one side. I am going to get some crown molding to put along the bottom, to give it a higher lip. Then make curtains to cover the hole. Most of the things we store up there are in little bins anyway. So they should stay in place while traveling. Then I want to get the bunk curtains made also. We had it to where it was one curtain for each side, I want to change it so each bunk has it own curtain vs the top/bottom sharing one. They will all be different as I am letting the kids go through the fabric stash and pick what they want.

You all have a great day and a fantastic weekend. For those that want rain...if I could I would so trade our rain for your sun.

It sounds as if some are having some fun things going on!

It's 1:30, and I had to force myself to come into the trailer and get something to eat and drink. Other than coffee, I eat nothing until I have to MAKE myself eat-----I never get hungry when I am doing physical work, and DANG! Days are shorter now that I am out of school, too! (I am now down 10 pounds since May.) I cannot believe it's already 1:30! I really need to force myself to drink more, as I also never get thirsty. Yesterday, when I got out from underneath my truck, after hooking up the tent sleeve, I was so dizzy I had to put my head down. Then I realized that all I had done all morning after my coffee was pee and pee! I made myself come in for some seltzer and some food, and all was good for the rest of the day. I forget what it was like to have that dizzy stuff, until I get a touch of it now and then. But it's always there, in the back of my mind----like, what on earth would I do out on the road if it came back like it was two years ago! Maybe part of my anxieties are related to that fear, in the back of my mind----being alone and being too dizzy to walk, let alone drive. Sigh-----guess I won't think of that!

Anyway, it's a beer break for me now, for my fluids, :) and then I am going to eat some cooked chicken mixed into some low-fat, high fiber cottage cheese----Fiber One brand cottage cheese...it's my top favorite now.

So far I have been cleaning the party barn screened-in porch, vacuuming, washing, repairing things that have been let go for way too long, like the door frames, the duct tape holding in the screen door panels, getting my two propane grills that are stored out there cleaned and ready for the Ruckus. I still have to wash the white naugahide sofa and vacuum the inside rugs, vacuum the stuffed furniture, and clean off all the countertops.

Mowing will have to happen later!

It's 83 in the shade now, and we have a wonderful breeze! A really perfect summer day, for sure!

Carol, love your screened in porch! That will be so nice for you to enjoy without the bugs! You have a great, scenic back yard too!

Soos, beer isn't good for hydrating yourself! You need good old fashioned H2O!! Is your dizziness from hunger, dehydration or something else? I get dizzy if I haven't eaten enough. Protein is good for that.
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)
