Rainy Friday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Rainy Friday

Postby VickieP » Fri Jul 02, 2010 7:40 am

How's this for a first, me opening the kitchen!

Ronnie had a headache so he woke me up at 6:20, ready to get out of bed. Maybe the fact that he slept all day yesterday in his chair is the reason he couldn't sleep last night.

Another rainy day for us here in SW LA, same as the last few days and supposed to be the same all next week.

There's coffee, black or with French Vanilla, cereal ran out yesterday, so looks like they'll be pancakes and bacon ready in a little bit, pull up a chair and tell us about your day!

GOOD MORNING VICKIE AND ALL, FROM ME AND HOPE!

It's been a week today that I have been living my new decadent life-style----sleeping in past 4:30! This morning is a rare sunny one, with the temperature already up to 62 in the sun outside my trailer. It's still about 55 in here, however, so I need to open all windows and the door. It got down to 42 last night outside-----I bought me a new wireless thermometer that will record max and min temps, and show either inside or outside temperatures. So far, I love it, and the batteries, 2 AAAs and 3 AAs, are supposed to last for 24 months! I have one like this in the leanto which I have used year 'round for many years, and I have always loved seeing the maximum and minimum recorded temperatures.

With the sun shining here this morning, I hope to finish mowing, install my screen door guard and my door holder-opener, (need to go online to see a diagram of how to install this piston rod deal) and then head for the leanto to vacuum down there with my generator, make my bed for the summer, stuff the oakum back into the wind-blown cracks, perhaps try to get the mower down there at the cabin end of the pond started so I can mow the jungle down there. I also have to try to get the new pez plumbing I have had for about two years now installed in my old trailer, to make that more usable. It's such a hard job to bend into a pretzel to get to the spaces in there required to take out all the cracked and split copper, and then install the new stuff. And then, there is still the challenge of trying to get my satellite dish zeroed in so there would be satellite TV out there!

One porta potty will arrive a week from yesterday, with the possibility of another one for August.

Mandy will leave West VA tomorow and head back for the 4th----I sure do hope she is extra-careful out on the roads this weekend.

Coffee is hot, so stop in and let us share your day!

Happy travels!

good morning and yes it is a surprise VickieP, but thank you for being the early bird
and hope Ronnie feels better soon.
Suppose to be up on the roof about now for that job thing, but with the record breaking
heat (114) over the last couple days, theres been a shift in plans. Gonna do a move-out
clean out which will be in an air conditioned house and I have the whole weekend to get
it totally done. Don't know how bad it is, so don't know how long it will take me. Much
better money in my opinion than on a hot roof. :D Will go check it out after breakfast.
Suppose to be cooler today, only 110  then down to 104 over the weekend with a
chance of rain :D (hoping for a monsoon storm)
Been working on an itenirary for a "trip" :D in the early fall or late summer which will
include my surprise outing :D . Will announce it all when I get it finished. I just work
too hard and decided after school starts and I'm back in bigger paychecks I deserve
a long weekend somewhere! 5 years without a vacation is making me insane. You all
have inspired me to do "something" even if I don't have the ability to move my rig, I
can still make other arrangements.
Ok, ready for a refill on my coffee and a little toast for the tummy with an orange on
the side.
Enjoy your day and be safe.

Morning! Thanks for setting the table, Vickie. Hope Ronnie is feeling better.

Yesterday was cloudy/sprinkling and as this morning is yard debris pickup, I decided it was prudent to get my lawn mowed. It sprinkled harder as I mowed and was a light shower when I finished. Last evening it started as a steady rain and hasn't let up. I do believe it's suppose to clear out soon and be nice for the 4th, with temps soaring into the 90s on Mon and Tues! Last night when I let the dog out for the last time I could see my breath out there!

My DD called yesterday and invited me to ride along with her family next month, as they tow their motorcycles to CA to go riding with my DS around Napa where he lives. It's a 600 mi drive and my SIL says he can do it in 10 hrs. Almost all of it will be on intestate 5 and 80. Should be interesting!

Not much planned for today except read. Good day for it with the rain.

Safe travels, all that will be on the roads for the holiday!

Good Morning Ladies, it is going to be a beautiful day here in Normal... will be 80... ah looks like a great weekend ahead... we will have a picnic after church Sunday... love that with a lot of people...
My two daughters and granddaughter went to Springfield today... I thought I needed to stay here and do laundry, vacuum and make spaghetti for dinner with a salad and what ever else we can find... it sure makes a difference with three people here... I rather like it...
Wow that sounds like a mighty fast trip to Ca... almost like my son in law and grandson when they drove my motor home home from FL this spring they made it in 24 hours... I do not even want to know about it... lol
Thanks for the wake up call Vickie... always good to have coffee and chat with friends...
My first load of laundry is ready for the dryer...
Hope everyone has a super good day

Good Morning, now don't have a heart attack :o .... yes it is me Seeyagal :D . Well it's another day of rain  . I swear we have seen more rain than we ever have and waiting for a nice summer but just do not think we are going to get one. I'll grab a cup of coffee with ya'll and share some of my cinnamon bread with ya'll. Looks like a Costco day today to grab Dan's hotdogs and my Fiber One bars ( Oats & chocolate.....so yummy and good for ya!) Heading to LaConner on Monday for a week. Hope the weather will be nicer then so we can have fun with some friends up there.
Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away
