..

Late yesterday evening, Miss Vickie had written you (Soos) a lovely and heartfelt (almost poetic, really) congratulations on your retirement, how much you had meant to all your kids over the years, how you deserved to do anything and everything you ever wanted and now have the time to do it, and to enjoy your new life to the fullest. It was really quite a post. She even found a delicious looking Retirement Cake!

Well, duh on me - I recalled you had posted something about your "second-to-last" Monday and I thought your last (partial week) was the one coming up. So, I emailed Doofus and said, "Aren't ya jumpin' the gun?" Well, that Goofy Doofus, WITHOUT checking the facts, went and deleted her post. Poof. Gone. Couldn't get it back. I told her to repost it and she said it had come from her heart and she couldn't reproduce it.

I just wanted you to know that it was there, it was beautiful, and then it was gone.

Even though Vickie's a Doofus, ya gotta love 'er...

Sorry, Soos. My bad.

PS: At least I found the cake she baked for you...

Mitch, you didn't have to tell on us! We're both Dufuses (Doofuses)! But yes, Soos, I did and DO want to congratulate you on your retirement, even tho I can't remember all the things I said in my first post. Enjoy all that your new life has to offer you!

Awwww.......it's the thought that counts, you two! I know what it's like to create your guts out on a post and then POOF----gone it is, never to be seen again!

That cake not only looks good to eat, but I love its clock, as well! I am going to follow that schedule for at least the first week, and then I need to get on the stick around here!

Although, I got a lot done today----dump run early on, and, while I was there, got a free, neat, heavy-duty oak (I believe) little rocking chair someone was about to toss away---It fits in my truck camper top just perfectly!! It looks as if it was made for a little girl, about 8 years old, but it fits big me to a T! I can't believe what good shape it's in---all joints tight as can be, rockers in tip-top shape-----I LOVE it! It's been painted somewhere along the line, with little flower decals on it, so I think I'll strip that old paint off and see what its wood looks like. I will also recover the seat. It is very comfy, and will make a perfect seat to sit in the back of the truck and listen to music, watch the beavers, or whatever comes my way! Then I vacuumed the entire house, including the porch. Made a huge vat of chicken soup with rice, which is REALLY good, if I do say so myself. Tried to clear out a nasty thing on this computer that makes search engines, not just Google, I discovered today, get redirected to ad sites. I have sent a lot of info to Microsoft, as there is an update that has never been successfully installed on here, and it keeps coming up for installation. I hope to get an email from them soon. I did a laundry, including some blankets and towels. Molly and I went for a walk between rain showers-----she ate a big supper tonight, and her digestive system is nearly back to normal, thank heavens.

The kids may or may not be back in time for me to have some jello shots with them tonight, so I will just have some right now, all by myself!

Thanks so much for the cake and cyber-space wishes----perhaps I'll catch them on the wind tonight!
Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!

Soos!

Doesn't sound like your slowing down to me! But the rocker sounds like a great "find". Sounds like one we passed around in my family and I think that one was maple.

Know what you mean about the computer gremlins. I think I've figured out that there are built-in things in the initial programming of a new computer. Each company gets a turn with their pop-ups and misdirections for around 3 months. One finally goes away only to be replaced with another. Virus protection plans keep telling me I need to renew when I don't even have their plan to begin with! It's a conspiracy to get us to buy new computers every few years. Screw up the old one enough and we cave in. The older the computer, the more they take over.

Yup! I'm paranoid! Remember HAL?

Enjoy your freedom and enjoy your projects.
