Met up with Birdie today

What a fun day I had!
Birdie came into town and we actually had planned to have dinner together last
evening but with the A/C acting up I needed to be home and monitor the girls
for awhile so we planned on a Breakfast meet. Let me tell you, she is a wonderful
wonderful gal, and very informative. I took my 50' tape measure and we verified
a few measurements she had written on a note card. Verified the height of her
rig, including the ac. I climbed up on the roof and between the two of us we got
that done, and also measured the total length of her rig plus the toad. We also
went over a diagram I had from my bus driver training class that explained what
your side mirrors should be seeing when they are adjusted properly. Of course
her mirrors were all adjusted properly. Few other things like that we discussed,
and of course we just visited in general. Before I knew it, it was time for lunch.
Had a great time :D and I sure hope I didn't drive her nuts with my constant
chatter. Sorry there's no pictures, we just didn't think to take any.

Well, it ain't far and the pool's beautiful!!! Fish aren't biting, though. But the wine is free-flowing and the food is delicious.

Where are you? Are you thinking that all the pooches might be able to go swimming at will??????? :o  :o  :o

funny part of the story........
Birdie said the names of a few places she had picked out to stay and ask me what I
thought. She mentioned Santa Fe Park and I said, hey, I know that one, and its very
nice and clean that my friends Mickey and Ginny live there but of course they are gone
for the summer. So, the longer story shorter....I did have my camera and the only
picture I took was a picture of M & G's fifthwheel parked all by itself all alone and
emptiness all around. I sent the picture to Ginny and told her I found a bargain on
an abandoned fifth wheel and how much did you think I could get for it. She did think
that was funny and said that fifth wheel was "priceless" So yes, I did have a fun day
and got to play a joke on a friend. Of couse she thanked me for letting her know her
fifthwheel was just fine and wanted to know the story too of the whole coincidence.
:D otherwise, IT SURE IS HOT HERE.

Was a great morning visiting, talking, talking and more talking. Not sure who out-talked whom, but it was fun and of course informative. And yes it was really hot today, but not as hot as yesterday. Today up to 111 on my gizmo and yesterday 114 and was still 91 at 2:00 a.m. last night and it has already cooled down to 91 this night. May be getting ready for Monsoon season to start. That would be nice.

Sure was glad to have Ava climb on the roof to verify the measurement that I had. I haven't met a ladder yet, that I haven't fallen off! :ugeek: She must be part mountain goat - well I am sure as she is from Colorado so she has to be part mountain goat - she jumped right up that ladder, well actually climbed up the ladder. Inspected the roof while she was there - isn't that nice! Found out with the toad I am about 49' long. Wow! Ava needs to put together a little thingy so she can look at teaching women RVers about driving big rigs - that's when she is not driving the BIG SCHOOL BUS. Wouldn't that be a neat second job for her?

This is a great RV Park - the summer Passport America rates are about $13.50 a day and the heat is free. I will post on the campground thread.

Got to do this again when it is cooler.

Sounds like a great mini gtg! Helpful and fun; does it get any better?
I so envy all of you so skillful and brave soles driving those large, long rigs.

it was probably only 90 at that time of the morning, it was early and I didn't really
notice any heat up there, and I wasn't doing any pilates up there either so I was
ok.
