Bad News Today - Now It's Good News!!!!!!!

My 5-year old granddaughter recently had a mole removed and had the stitches taken out today. My son was advised that the results of the biopsy were sent to a doctor with Harvard Medical School. It is my son's understanding that this could be benign or melanona - 50-50 chance. Melanoma is rare in children so we are truly hoping this is benign. As a cancer survivor myself, I am very scared because this mole had all the bad signs.

Please keep MacKenzie in your thoughts and prayers. We now have a 2-3 week wait until the diagnosis is back. I'm going to suggest my son start tomorrow to get another opinion ASAP.

I'll be thinking of you all,... and hope that it turns out ok. I had a malignant mole or "thingy" off my nose last winter, and it's fine,.. just a hairline scar, with no future concerns. If you had a good surgeon I'm sure all will be fine. I agree with a second opinion, though. Always a good idea for things that can be serious. Keep us posted, please.
