It's nearly 60 outside already, but overcast and very humid----a perfect beginning to summer. Molly and I scouted out the best areas for picking blueberries last evening, for later when they get ripe. I hope there will still be some on the bushes when the Ruckus begins! They are ripening early this year, as are all fruits and berries.

I am going into school early again, as some kids will need to hang out in the library to study for this afternoon's exams----those who do not have cars, or are too young to drive, will have to come on this morning's buses and hang out all day. I can pay some online bills and explore the internet while I am there. Some of my kids will be taking an exam this afternoon, and I will be reading it to them.

I hope you all have a wonderful Summer Solstice. It seems as if it was just the Winter Solstice, and now here we are, midway in our yearly trip around the sun once again. Maybe the sun will come out, and I can mow when I get home.

Good-morning !!! What a cute picture of Hope to start the week off with. I am starting the week with a great deal of Hope here, that I will be more back to normal and can begin to move on after this adventure(which I don't want anymore of , in my lifetime). I prefer adventures on wheels. My sister is still here, I am doing fine, but she is not ready to leave me yet. She lives in Fl. and we don't really get to see each other enough. To be honest, I am not really wanting to be on my own just yet.

Had a great surprise yesterday, my husbands two sons came to visit. I haven't seen either in awhile and so it was really a nice surprise. Made my day!! Oldest lives in Tx., Liz and I, visited him and his family over a yr. ago. Younger lives a couple hrs. north of me. So a great ending to a not to nice week here.

I see some have had birthdays, Happy Birthday, to all of you. Hope you each had a terrific day. I have no idea what has been going on, or what troubles Mitch and Vicki, have been into and if not them Barbie, trying to get them into it I will wait a wee longer to see about all of that, as a good belly laugh in really not in order yet

I hope you all have a great week, something fun, that you can look forward to. I know lIz, will be starting out Tuesday, way late for her to leave for her summer adventures. I hope she has a great trip and finds loads of good things for our pictures, I just know she is going to take for all of us. (She better)

Glad to hear you had a good day yesterday Carol and that your sister is still with you, it is good to have another person to help you through the healing period.
Will probably miss yoga again today unless a pop up shower comes along and cools us off for a bit, still no end in site to this heat wave. Charley has come to tell me they are ready for breakfast so best get with it. Earlier his morning I asked Andy, one of the little dogs if he really wanted a walk and he gave a loud bark. I know they understand everything I say but sometimes it catches me by surprise. We have a fenced in yard but all three think they should have individual walks in the morning out front. I am so well trained.

Speaking of storms we had a big one this morning.... great now I do not have to water...
I have an appointment to have my breaks checked... they go out every year... it is an expensive deal... maybe I need to change cars... this one has 53,000 miles and has had 4 sets of breaks if today proves true that will be 5... this is a lemon for sure...

Had a nice day yesterday on our boat ride with my family. It was a beautiful day on the lake! Too bad I forgot my camera!

I got a phone call this morning that my cousin, Linda, passed away last night from her cancer. I think she is around 63 years old. I got a chance to go visit her about a month ago so I am grateful for that. She had been battling cancer for the past 3 years or so. Tomorrow is the 3 year anniversary of my mom's passing.

Not much planned for today. Just some cleaning, reading and relaxing before heading back to work for the week. Found some comfy shoes on-line last night for work, so I will see if I have enough money to order them today after paying a few bills. My poor feet sure need a break! If I can keep my tummy and my feet happy at work, I will enjoy my job much better!

happy summer all... (NOT!) spose to hit 100 today for the first time... again,, HAPPY SUMMER? I hate to always be griping about the heat.. and texas summers... but,,, when they hit you in the face...........

well, you get my drift. Happy summer to all of you who don't have to swelter and are fortunate to be where it's moderate.

What's the latest on Karen and her A/C problems? Hope that gets remedied SOON!

well, off to the nursing home for my daily visit. Have a good one,, all ye who are in the woods or out of doors!

Fifty-eight years ago ... my mother agreed that this was, indeed, the loooongest day of the year. She welcomed me, and then cried when she saw my little feet were horribly twisted. She spent the next however many years traipsing with me to the Orthopedic Hospital in Los Angeles, hoping against hope that my club feet could be fixed. A doctor did an experimental operation on me and I was the first child to walk normally with that affliction.

So each year as the earth reaches its summer solstice, I celebrate another trip around the sun. Happy solstice everyone. Enjoy this nice long day, as they will start becoming shorter and shorter until autumn, then winter come again.
