GOOD MORNING ALL!
The link above leads to the latest update by the bear researchers, and it's a very well-written, well-thought-out defense of what they are trying to learn with little Hope, the bear cub. I am so happy to see they have finally gotten their heads together to realize what an opportunity they have to learn a bunch more about bears and their behavior by this event in the life of this little cub. I am proud of them, and of this written update.
It's still about 65 degrees outside, sky is overcast, with intermittent HEAVY rain showers so far this morning. I haven't looked at the radar yet, so have no idea what the day's outlook is. I do need some dry weather to get the front lawn mowed again, now that I can see I don't have many wild strawberries to pick. The raspberries, however, will be super prolific this year! I didn't cut down any canes around the perimeter of my front deck, and the blossoms are heavy, with a lot of bee activity to fertilize them all. I can't WAIT to taste those juicy pieces of free food!
Mandy and Joe and friends went to bed about 3:00 am again, so I don't expect to see them until it's time for them to leave for Chazy to pick up a U-Haul trailer to haul furniture back to their home. They will also have a Father's Day dinner with Mandy's father and grandmother. I will stay here and hope for some nice sunshine.
I managed to get my trailer washed, de-black-streaked, and waxed (with a wash-n-wax liquid) yesterday. It looks like new again, without all those nasty black streaks. (A time-consuming job for sure---up the ladder, spray, scrub, lather, down the ladder, rinse----repeat for hours! But you all know the procedure!) The water is beading up nicely on the aluminum, so I know the wax is there. If the sun comes out today, I will then wash the awning inside and out.
Tomorrow will be the first day of summer and the last Monday of school for me. I have already paid the first installment of dental insurance which I will keep. I should have enough health and denatl coverage to keep me going for a long time to come, I hope.
One last purchase I would love to make for myself is a Pressure Pro monitor for my trailer tires. After that, I wil no longer be able to afford anything other than food, I suspect, and gas to travel. It will provide me with less stress to know my tires are properly inflated at all times. My truck already has a tire pressure monitor built-in. I will need 4 tire receivers, just for the trailer.
Coffee is hot, so stop by and tell us about your day----no days are too mundane to write about. It's so much fun to know what others are doing...I really look forward to hearing from you all. We had 14 people post in the coffee room yesterday----so neat to read about all the stuff happpening out there!
Happy last day of spring 2010, and happy Father's Day to all you dads.
