GOOD MORNING ALL!

The link above leads to the latest update by the bear researchers, and it's a very well-written, well-thought-out defense of what they are trying to learn with little Hope, the bear cub. I am so happy to see they have finally gotten their heads together to realize what an opportunity they have to learn a bunch more about bears and their behavior by this event in the life of this little cub. I am proud of them, and of this written update.

It's still about 65 degrees outside, sky is overcast, with intermittent HEAVY rain showers so far this morning. I haven't looked at the radar yet, so have no idea what the day's outlook is. I do need some dry weather to get the front lawn mowed again, now that I can see I don't have many wild strawberries to pick. The raspberries, however, will be super prolific this year! I didn't cut down any canes around the perimeter of my front deck, and the blossoms are heavy, with a lot of bee activity to fertilize them all. I can't WAIT to taste those juicy pieces of free food!

Mandy and Joe and friends went to bed about 3:00 am again, so I don't expect to see them until it's time for them to leave for Chazy to pick up a U-Haul trailer to haul furniture back to their home. They will also have a Father's Day dinner with Mandy's father and grandmother. I will stay here and hope for some nice sunshine.

I managed to get my trailer washed, de-black-streaked, and waxed (with a wash-n-wax liquid) yesterday. It looks like new again, without all those nasty black streaks. (A time-consuming job for sure---up the ladder, spray, scrub, lather, down the ladder, rinse----repeat for hours! But you all know the procedure!) The water is beading up nicely on the aluminum, so I know the wax is there. If the sun comes out today, I will then wash the awning inside and out.

Tomorrow will be the first day of summer and the last Monday of school for me. I have already paid the first installment of dental insurance which I will keep. I should have enough health and denatl coverage to keep me going for a long time to come, I hope.

One last purchase I would love to make for myself is a Pressure Pro monitor for my trailer tires. After that, I wil no longer be able to afford anything other than food, I suspect, and gas to travel. It will provide me with less stress to know my tires are properly inflated at all times. My truck already has a tire pressure monitor built-in. I will need 4 tire receivers, just for the trailer.

Coffee is hot, so stop by and tell us about your day----no days are too mundane to write about. It's so much fun to know what others are doing...I really look forward to hearing from you all. We had 14 people post in the coffee room yesterday----so neat to read about all the stuff happpening out there!

Happy last day of spring 2010, and happy Father's Day to all you dads.
Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!

Good morning from cool California. We are grateful for this unusual weather. It could easily be in the 100s all ready, but staying in low 80s! Tomorrow I will have been home a week. Slowly catching up. My SIL and an auntie both with serious health problems have us all off balance here. On the other hand, it's Father's Day and I'm looking forward to spending the day with my Dad who is 83 this year. He did a MAJOR second grass cutting for me before I got home. It was a BIG job! Now I am working on 'detail' work. We like to keep the ground bare for both fire protection and avoiding rattlesnakes!

This week I went to Yosemite to see the falls. So spectacular with above normal snow pack and long cool spring. Have not been able to post pics due to @*&%^$# air card, but will keep trying!

My apologies for not posting to important happenings in your lives.....I can read on my iPhone, but posting has been (and will continue to be) difficult.

Looking forward to Summer Solstice tomorrow......

Diana, Yosemite is one place I really want to see someday! Can't wait to see your pics!

It is cloudy this morning and will stay in the upper 70's today so perfect for a boat ride! Can't wait!

My betta fish, Carmine, has been sick this week, so I bought some medicine for him and put him in a smaller aquarium to treat him. He seems a little better this morning. He is the first betta I have ever gotten attached to. He actually comes when I call his name. The gal at the pet store says he will probably die anyways but I figure I should at least try to save him.

Gotta go up to the store and get a card and a blueberry pie for my dad. He loves blueberries so I always get him a pie for his birthday, Father's Day and Christmas. He will be 84 in July and still going strong! (Maybe it is all those blueberries!).

Have a good day!

Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

You are a lot better with your iPhone keyboard that I Diana, I'm challenged to do a two line text message!
My plan for the day is trying to figure out something I want to eat, when I'm stressed I don't want food. I'm not sure why hot weather bothers me so much, I don't get worked up over really cold weather. I think when it is so hot and humid I feel like I can't get enough air. Oh well will have to 'buck up' as my Dad used to say when I whined. He was certainly an example of stepping up to problems. My Mother was seriously ill for many years when I was young and he had a dual role to play and I don't remember him ever complaining. After my Mom died, I was spoiled from all food and desserts our church and neighbors had brought in over the years. I knew a lot of widow women were giving him their phone numbers (some even enclosed them in their sympathy cards!!) so I just happen to mention at the beauty shop I went to regularly because my friend worked there, that my Dad sure liked chicken and dumplings and mentioned a few more of my favorite foods...then added...& I just didn't know how to make them. Well within a week I was eating good again, women showed up with pies, cakes & yes chicken and dumplings. But all good things come to an end and when he figured I was at the bottom of all the bounty and I was instructed to stop the food brigade!
Enjoy your day.

You were a stinker, for sure! Redetotry!
Happy Father's day to all the great dads out there!! I sure miss mine even though he passed 49 yrs ago, when I was but 11 yrs old. I have many fond memories of him like when he would whisper in my Mom's ear and I'd try listening in her other ear to hear what he was saying! Or just riding in the car with him when he went to check out the crops/neighboring crops.
I agree, Soos. Good write-up on Hope. They had to make some hard decisions on what they finally did: intervening vs mother nature.
Still rainy here, :( so nothing different to report on that front! I did mow my grass between showers yesterday as it was starting to go to seed.
Carol, hope you are still on the mend. Keeping the prayers going for you!
Soos, come wash/wax my RV. I have yet to do that and dread it. It will need it soon, tho.
Wishing everyone a great day!
