Karen, could it be that the campground doesn't have a large enough service to cover when there are a lot of people hooked up? Just a thought. carold

If you didn't have any problems last year it's a possibility that the local electric company has a generator down for repair or maintenence, and the whole town is getting a lower voltage. Are you in the same park as last year? For some reason I'm thinking last year you were in one of the parks closer to downtown and this year in the KOA?

Hey Karen, I've been trying to reply since yesterday! grrr air card!

Anyway, for what's it's worth, when I was there, I did take my surge guard out of the line and it DID NOT make a bit of difference to the power supply. In the afternoons during HIGH demand I was barely getting 110, usually slightly less. (You might remember I mentioned that?) Late at night I would get 110 or slightly more.

For those that don't have a surge guard, those little volt meters that plug into your regular power outlet are the best, so easy to keep an eye on power supply. ($10 at Walmart or such).

Hope you get some resolution to this problem soon Karen!

diana, you mentioned a plug in volt meter at WalMart for around $10. I searched Walmart's website and got nothing. Could you show a picture or do they maybe have another name? .

Go to Home Depot, Lowes or Walmart (electrical dept) and ask for a "voltage meter". You plug it into an outlet in your rig and it shows you if the plug is wired correctly and how many volts you're getting inside your rig. I also bought an adapter that I plug the meter into and then plug into the 30amp plug in the campground. It then shows me if the electrical post in the CG is wired correctly and if it has too low power. I ALWAYS plug it into a CG BEFORE I ever plug my rig into the post. Be sure you turn the power off at the post, plug your meter in and THEN turn the power back on.

Kelpie, go up a little ways to Mitch's post that she bookmarked and it has a picture of everything you need to check for voltage and if the cg is wired correctly. The line voltage meter should be plugged into an outlet in your rv at all times where you can see it at a glance and monitor the voltage coming into the rv. Bless Mitch for keeping all of this stuff so we don't have to go looking for it!
