NEXT-TO-LAST FRIDAY PAYDAY FOR ME

GOOD MORNING ALL!!

MN had clusters of tornadoes last night----I sure do hope North Country Girl missed those. The Bear Center seems to be up and running this morning in Ely MN, so I am hoping the damaging storms were south of where Judy is as well.

It's going to be a warm----up to 86 F.-----day here today, and it's also pay day. (It's only 43 here right now, and very comfy in the trailer with my warm clothes on. This is my next-to-last paycheck, and it's downright scary. Have I done the right thing is what I am wondering. Time will tell if I can make it on what my retirement check and SS will add up to.

I will be reading an RCT exam to three kids in my class this morning, and hope to escape shortly after the afternoon exams begin. Mandy and Joe will return home today to make rom for some furniture they will be hauling to their new home on Sunday----donations from Mandy's father's nephew. I will mow one section of lawn I let grow to see if the strawberries that blossomed there would produce any ripe berries, but I think they froze in the bud.

Time to get dressed, make sure all bills to be paid are with me, and head out to open up the library for the last-minute studiers!

good morning ladies
suppose to be a day off for me today but was assigned to do a field trip.
That will be good for the paycheck. Kids Club to a local dinner theater to
see a play of Charlottes Web, but not a dinner thing, its in the day time.
Its worth a good 6 hours on my timesheet
Been stressing some major decision I need to make very soon, but not
ready to talk about it just yet.

Well, it's the LAST Friday for me! Woo-hoo!!!

Another year is almost under my belt, and if I'm lucky there'll be just 5 more. But for now, I'm just happy that this year's over. While I've had some sweet kids this year, as a whole, this class is immature, high-maintenance, and academically low -- all adding up to a very weary experience.

I'm done today at 1:00 and will head home to finish packing for my big trip. Yesterday when I went over to the storage lot to turn on the fridge in my trailer I was greeted with totally dead batteries. This is after having my used-to-be favorite fix-it shop check them less than a week ago (and using my battery disconnect switch). So I had to take them out (no easy feat for Group 27 batteries), and haul them to an auto shop that checked them for me. Turns out that one was totally toast and no good, and the other was discharged and would take 40 min. to charge. But since both of them were purchased together and not that long ago, I decided that the better part of discretion would be to replace both of them. While the one might have been good, I just didn't want to chance it. So, back to the trailer with 2 new batteries, get them installed, and the fridge finally fired up so I can load it this afternoon. One thing I did before disconnecting the old one was take pictures of the connections. And boy, was that a good idea, as I was on overload at that point and didn't remember exactly what to do. Because I have 2 in tandem it's not as simple as a regular car battery. So ... for those of you who have to disconnect stuff, remember that nice digital camera that's usually nearby -- it comes in handy!

So after that trauma I'm expecting the rest of my trip preparation to go smoothly & I'll head out tomorrow morning after a quick stop at my favorite tire place for a final check of air pressures.

I'm finished with regular morning work and now thinking I need to do something productive around here like decide what to fix for dinner but that seems like such a long time from now
Soos, do you keep track of your yearly expenditures? I do an Excel spreadsheet as to what we spend each month on utilities, gas, cash for misc. items like eating out and what the average insurance costs are per month. For me, seeing what we have to pay out each month and how much we spend for optional purchases really helped. You'll be ok, don't stress over tomorrow life is going to be great now that you don't have to stress over that difficult job.
Laura wish I was headed out with you and Jed sounds like a great trip have a great time!!
Ava we'll be here for you when you are ready to talk about what's going on.

Really quick-am paying for wifi and only have a few minutes left. We are on the Gaspe Peninsula in Quebec-trying to keep blog updated, but pictures take too long. Having fun. Will try and read more posts when we have unlimited connection. Don't know how long we will be in Canada. Hope all is well with everyone.
