Laurie, I'm also pming this information to you - so you can find it either place.

You don't need to read all the pages - the very first post has the campground and dates - it's been updated to make it easier - but in the pm, I'm giving you that info again - just in case.

BarbaraRose wrote:Well, I called and checked, and the tent pads at the RV sites are 17' X 17', so plenty big. I found a great tent at Walmart that has an attached screen porch which I really like! It is 16 X 11, (8X11 tent / 8X11 porch) so that would fit fine, and it would also be plenty big and comfy for me if I needed to live in it for awhile in CA. I read the customer reviews on it and they are really good. It sounds like it is easy to set up and sturdy. I get claustrophobic, so the porch would be ideal for me. It also can be closed up for additional sleeping area. It is also affordable (in a couple weeks!).

I sure hope I can get there! It sounds like a ton of fun will be had!

Okay, now I'm corn-fused...are you maybe going to be at the AR GTG as a special trip to Arkansas, or will it be a stop on your way to California? Aren't you and BikerChick heading West together??? Either way - that's a nice looking tent. Did you see it in person? Well made (the tent, not you...although Sharon's boychick would probably need to know that type of information...)

I'd offer to let you stay on our pad, but George and Abby are mean.

BarbaraRose wrote:So how much room is there for a tent along with an RV? I am going to buy a new tent and am wondering what size I can fit on one of the sights. I want to get a fairly large tent (in case I need to live in it for awhile when I get to CA! ). I am looking at ones anywhere from 13' X 11' to 20' X 11' (three room).

Barbie, you will end up w/everyone at your site with the screened in porch=keep the bugs away. So fun!!

Yes, that is the tent I am looking to get! Isn't it adorable?? Unfortunately, it looks like it is all sold out everywhere at Walmart. So I will probably have to do a few more haircuts and come up with the extra $30 for the one on Amazon. But at least the shipping is free! And yes, you are all welcome to bring a chair and visit in my porch!

Well, as far as my plans...you know the saying..."jello". It all depends on if/when I get a job in CA, and if/or when Linda is done working and can go the GTG too, and how/when I can get the ferrets to Denver, etc, etc. I will try my best to fit it in, if at all possible!

It has been fun spending the day shopping on-line for camping stuff! Didn't buy anything, but saved all the things I want to get, to my "favorites" file.

And by the way, I AM well-made, just a little flabby around the middle!

I'm so frustrated!! My tent just went up from $150 to $180! I am struggling to come up with the money to order this tent and now I have to come up with another $30!! Someone sent in a raving review yesterday and then they raised the price. Maybe I should send in a really bad review and then they might lower the price again!  Ugh! I already bought an airbed and some camping gear (on sale at WMart) that I know I don't have at my dad's. I want to order that tent as soon as I can so it doesn't get sold out like it did at Walmart. Maybe I will do a search and see if I can find it anywhere else cheaper.

Barbie, you didn't find any tents in your Dad's attic?

I just have one little one and the last time I used it (after using a whole can of waterproofing spray and sealing all the seams with wax) I about drowned in it from a rain storm! Very cheap tent! I found the tent I want at a couple other sites on line quite a bit cheaper but once you add in the high shipping charge, it comes to more than the one on Amazon.com which doesn't charge shipping. Well, I will just have to do more haircuts!

Speaking of haircuts, we're still waiting for a picture of your new "do"...

PS: I just looked all over for your tent. No luck at all. Well, Sears for $279!!!!

Well, I bought a tent but not the one I really wanted. Just couldn't swing it financially right now. The one I got is nice too but doesn't have the porch. It was one third of the cost of the other one and has good reviews.

Barbie, that's a nice tent. And you can always get a separate screen room later. That price is great, and all the reviews I looked at were excellent. Hope you enjoy it - even if it wasn't your first choice :)

I also ordered an airbed that has a back rest on it so I can sit up and read at night and 2 sleeping bags that I can zip together (it's a queen sized bed). There is a pop-up screen room they are selling at my local grocery store that is 7.5 X 7.5 X 7 feet high. It just comes out of the little bag and pops into shape! (I assume it can be staked down so it doesn't blow away.) They are asking $70 for it but they have quite a few and they haven't sold many yet, so I am hoping they go on sale soon. If so, I might get one. I can't wait to try this stuff out when I go visit Linda in July. Then hopefully, I will do it again in Sept with you all in Arkansas!
