WET THURSDAY

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

WET THURSDAY

GOOD MORNING ALL FROM LITTLE HOPE!

She was caught on camera yesterday about a mile and a half from her 'feeding station bear-formula' tree, turning over and ripping apart logs to find wild and savory ant larvae and pupae----a skill she has learned all on her own. This picture shows her back in the safety of her feeding tree, just kicking back and playing with her feet, watching Sue, her researcher who is trying to get a teensy little tracking collar on her. She continues to teach us all every day what abandoned baby bears can do do their own. As Tmetravlr has in his signature quote, "Life is tough, and even toughter if you're stupid" or something like that! This little cub is far from stupid, and is proving it with each day of her life.

It's not as cold outside today, but just as wet and dark. It rained again most of the night. Blueberries will be plumping up!

My son called last night, so I missed the chatroom. They have locked in a 5.0% interest rate with a bank for a fixed, 30-year mortgage for their property. I am so excited for them! The closing won't be until sometime in the middle of July...a long drawn-out process as usual. They should be new home owners by the time they get up here in early August for a wedding they are both in. Another reason to celebrate during the Ruckus in the Mountains for 2010!

I have another mouse in my live-trap this morning---NOT the raggedy eared one again! Off I go for coffee and to get dressed. Stop by and share your day with us all! Later.......
Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!

Well, it is WAY past morning, but since no one else has written, I will.

Now I have another new background photo of Hope for my laptop! She's so cute!

It is cold, wet, windy and yucky out here today. Only in the low 60's. May have to use the fireplace tonight! Just got home from another tough day at work. 20 haircuts, but made $60 in tips so not too bad! My manager sure has her mood swings! Today she had a really grouchy look to her and she always makes me nervous thinking she is about to criticize something I am doing. Yesterday she was all happy and wanted to do a makeover on me (I told her I am not quite ready to cut my hair off yet, still thinking...). The gal who went into labor yesterday, they were able to stop her contractions and sent her home. Hopefully, she can hang in there for the next 6 weeks before she has her baby. She placed her first baby in an open adoption. Unlike mine, she sees her son all the time and has a very close relationship with the adoptive parents. I am glad that most adoptive parents are more open minded and less fearful than Naomi's parents are. She is keeping this baby even tho she isn't married to the father, but they are still a couple.

I have been looking at tents. I like the bigger ones with two or more rooms or a screened porch, but don't want to get too big to fit on a campsite, either. I will have to go over to my dad's house and see what we can find in his attic. I know I bought a lot of camping stuff about 15 years ago but am not sure how much we will find and in what condition. I am planning to go down to visit Linda in July for a few days. And maybe I can go to the AR GTG too if it fits into my plans in September.

Gotta go make cookies now. Maybe I will even share some with you gals at the campfire tonight! Will have to discuss that with the ferrets...
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)
