If Soos does make it to the GTG ( I hope, I Hope) mitch has to be free to lie in front of the fire, so should Soos fall, she will not hurt herself again. I believe Mitch agreed to this. The rest of you will be able to tie yourselves up to whatever you can reach. Linda

If Vickie had her way, I'd be lying ON the fire, not in front of it!
Yes, I did agree to that (in front of, not ON).
(boy Linda, you got a stinkin' LONG memory!)
But it will be a perfect photo op anyway!

OKY DOKY NOW---

If I come to this in September, which I can do timewise, I would not haul my trailer all that way as I won't be leaving here for FL that early, and would only have to haul it all the way back here. So, my question is, can I reserve a waterfront site in your 'circle' and just use my truck camper cap and my tent? I am looking at sites # 16, 17, and 18?

Let me know if that will work, and if they will allow me to have one of those sites with just a camper top and tent. If so, I will reserve my space now! I can stay a night or two with my brother at his house in PA and then maybe wend my way down there? I need to check distances before I get too excited about doing this. How far is the GTG from the Philly area----anybody know?

Soos, I went to Mapquest.com driving directions and from Pilly to Little Rock is 1152 miles, 18 1/2 hours. The camp ground is about an hour before Little Rock I think.

I'm having so much fun reading this thread, ARE YOU SURE SOME MORE OF YOU OUT THERE DON'T WANT TO JOIN IN THIS GTG, IT PROMISES TO BE ONE OF THE BEST TIMES YOU EVER HAD. Of course, its sure to be fun just reading of the escapades too, but being there , is going to be great fun, not to be missed.

I have always enjoyed ALL of the GTG's I have been too. Really looking forward to this one too !!

Safe and Happy travels

Soos, I think you're good to go on your tent and truck. Here are the Arkansas State Parks Camping Rules and Regs:

http://www.adptfoi.com/Parks/Park%20Operations%20Manual/documents/PD3015CampingRulesandRegulations.pdf

From Philadelphia to Petit Jean State Park is 1,209 miles. From Philadelphia to The Blue Marlin is 926 Miles. From The Blue Marlin to Petit Jean State Park is ~350 miles. I'm just sayin'...

Depending on how things work out with my plans this fall, I will try to get there! I would just pitch a tent on one of your sites (as far away from Mitch as possible! She might light my tent on fire in the middle of the night! Or light a doggy doodoo bag in front of it!). Sounds like it is going to be quite the party!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Barbie, I'd offer my site , but you have just invited bad stuff. I do hope you can make it though, would love to meet you. I think we're all allowed a tent on site.

I haven't looked up the mileage for me, I enjoy, so much all of my trips, I never really do the mileage thing, mostly the sights along the way, is what I like to know about. But it probably is a wee trip :?:

Soos, I wouldn't think you'd have any problem with your truck topper and tent. I've see people camping with just a van, I assume they sleep in it, but spend all the time outside otherwise. The pics I have seen of your setup, doubt you would have a problem anywhere, I wouldn't think so anyway.

By the time Sept gets here, hopefully we will have a large crowd of us out there, The more the merrier !!!

Stay safe,

Oh, Soos, I hope you can make it. I think the sites you're looking at #16, 17 & 18 would all be good for you. Even #15 and #20 would give you lake views. There is a big grassy area between Mitch and I that goes down to the lake. My site is always open for people to gather, walk, sit, whatever!

Carol, from your house to Petit Jean State Park is 582 miles.
The Blue Marlin (little red dot, top center) would be over 100 miles off track each way - ouch!
