On the road again.....

Good Sunday morning! I'm up early and all packed to hit the road later this morning. First I will drive my DD and DGD to the airport. Then, a lovely soy latte and some blue berry muffins to share from the local coffee shop before hitting the I-10 across west Texas. This will be a short day, only 3 or so hours. Depends on how long I stop in Fredricksburg. From today on I will leave at dark early each morning to avoid some of the heat. Hope you all have a lovely Sunday. Talk again from the road!

GOOD MORNING DIANA, AND ALL!!

It sure is a cold, rainy morning today, at just 47 degrees outside! I came inside here after I checked the bear updates, to make sure things are still good with little Hope, and, so far, all is well! Hope is growing by leaps and bounds, and her mom is off seeking a new mate, it appears!

Good to hear from you, Diana! What about some pics of your journey? Have a fun day on the roads.....good idea to leave early to avoid the heat. I am thinking if I ever drive through any deserts I will try to do it at night.

Laundry for me today, perhaps sort through of my 'stuff'----or perhaps NOT! I do need to vacuum, however. It's even cool inside here this morning---might build me a small fire in my woodstove to take the chill off. Yep, that sounds like a good plan.

Carolinagal----is it this week you will have the surgery? I see that you are preparing yourself some meals for recuperating. How about someone to stay with you for a while, and help you get around and take Maggie out? I will be thinking of you, and have my fingers crossed for good news about the analysis of your kidney growth. Next year, I would be able to head south and help you out!

I am hoping it's nicer elsewhere today, and that you all have something fun to do. Stop by to get warm and have a nice hot cup of Hazlenut coffee!

GOOD MORNING SISTAHS!!!!

Came in a little bit early this morn so that I could have the time to stop in and say "HI" to everyone. Don't have much time to read and catch up tho.

Carolinagal, if your going for surgery I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers!!! I miss out on so much cause I don't check in often enough. Hope everyone is doing well and have all their plans made for the summer. Ours is going pretty good so far but they are having a bit of trouble here with trying to keep housekeepers. We have lost 2 so far. One guy had to leave because of problems at home. And another guy only lasted 1 day. He came up in the evening, worked one day with Kelly and was gonna quit that night. He sat down with Kelly and the boss lady that eve and was gonna try it again the next day but he quit that morning first thing. Said the elevation was getting to him to much. He was diabetic and he had failed to mention that his right arm was partially paralyzed. Kelly said he had a real hard time making beds and folding towels. So for right now the boss lady is still doing housekeeping. Today is "her" day off and she is over the moon as she is 'going shopping' in St George. LOL

We got our truck. Need to get Kelly to take a pic of it so that I can post it. I haven't owned a pickup since ? '98' so it seems really strange to be driving one again. Really kind of miss the Blazer. Wouldn't have gotten rid of it at all if it hadn't been for needing a truck to pull an RV. And we're working on getting that too! Have really got our fingers crossed that when we leave here we will have a rolling 'home'! LOL

Ok, time to get punched in and to work. Hope everyone has a super fantastic day, please be safe in whatever you do today.

Morning all,, hi Diana! have a great trip. Can you believe that it was over a year ago that I came to Kerrville and met you three gals!?!?! Time does fly! Glad you are doing well and enjoying your life and you're trips are such fun. Stay outta the heat as much as you can. I live for the day when I can escape it!

Good Morning Ladies, wow we sure had storms last night here in IL... we just got wind and rain here in Normal but others were hit with tornados... have not seen what the damage is but they say most of one small town was damaged... I will have to see the local news... it is a cool 61 this morning so Gwen opened up and put fans in the windows to bring in the cool...

We will go shopping after church this morning... I have done more shopping since Gwen came than I do in a year... will settle down for a few weeks after she is gone on Tuesday... I will be sad to see her go... she washed my sky light on the outside and replaced my front door screen and put an aluminum guard on so Shadow does not break this new one... this screen is suppose to be pet proof so we are doubly protected!!!

Good to hear from you Echo... Soos you will have so much time to clean and sort things out after the school year is gone... drive safe those on the road...

Morning from Silver City. Its gotten hot here - expected to be in the 90's all week. Am waiting for Mtngirl Diana to get here for a short visit. When its this hot I'm pretty wiped out when I get off work (the bathrooms aren't cooled at all) and I pretty much stay in the AC in the RV till evening. At least the humidity is low here (that's why I come). Hope you all have a great Sunday.

Diana, have a safe trip and enjoy your little gtg with Karen
Have been up for hours, re-arranged tubs, shed and one of my storage
compartments, swapping stuff out for what should be where for what
ever reason. Long term stuff in the understorage, christmas stuff in
tubs in the shed. Pulled out an old suitcase that had memorabilia in
it from the kids days in elementary and other early years memorabilia,
well, somewhere along the line that suitcase had gotten wet, so brought
that in to go through it and toss the majority of it and will throw the
suitcase away. Decided when the ac kicked on at 7:30, it must be time
to go in. Found my bag of old curtains that I hung onto, and think I
have what I need to put curtains up on the two windows in the bedroom.
That would make me happy cause then I could take the sheets down
and it will look much nicer.
Ok, time for a cup of coffee and some toast.

It's afternoon. I really slept in and if Tina hadn't knocked on my door about 10 who knows if I would have ever gotten up. Peaches was glad for that knock! We hurried out and went for an over 2 hour walk - was nice and the dogs are getting along fine. When we got away from people and roads, I let Peaches off leash and Tina let Herschel off leash. Made them happy. Whenever we saw anyone or got close to roads, they got leashed again. Peaches is getting so good at coming immediately when I call for that.

Resting now for a bit. Then Sarah will be coming up. I boiled shrimp yesterday and we'll get together by Jean's site and visit. Peaches will stay home and sleep. She's exhausted

It is a beautiful cool day here, the winds came in from the north about six AM and blew away the heat an humidity. It is a very welcome break.
