GOOD MORNING ALL!!!
A picture taken June 4, 2010 of 4-month-old Hope, the black bear cub, now on her own in the wilds of Ely, MN! Look at the size of those ears now! She will need them to stay safe.
For the latest updates on this new chapter in the lives of black bears, here is a link:

Scroll down past the now defunct live den cam to the updates below it. What a ride this has been for so many followers, educators, and concerned humans throughout the entire world! "Little Sassy Pants," as some on Facebook call her, seems to have been trained beautifully by her flighty, first-time mother, and seems to be faring quite nicely, so far, on her own with a little help to get strong enough to continue living wild and free in her woods. (You don't have t be a member of Facebook to be able to read all the comments on there if you click the Lily on Facebook link---you just can't write or respond to any messages.) I feel so good about the latest decision to allow her to try to make it free on her own.
The updates were so good this morning and last night that I care not about the cloudy, rainy, grey morning here! It is pouring out there, and should make those blueberries fat and juicy before we know it!
I hope the weather is being comfy for those of you on the roads and out camping this weekend. Molly and I will find something to do inside until it clears off a bit. Stop by and check in so we can share your world! Coffee is ready and STRONG!
Happy Saturday from Molly and me
