YAY I made it to Colorado

Postby MaryMac » Thu Jun 03, 2010 10:11 am

Good morning all. I made it to Lake City yesterday afternoon what an amazing drive!! I have not ever been this high in elevation before. Wowie....At one point yesterday I was at 13,300 feet..
My truck did great. Not a wole lot of pulling power but enough to get me up the mountains, just a little slow some times..
I took lots of pictures !!!!!
Will be posting to my blogspot soon.. I am sooo excited to be here. I am soo thankful I have all you great gals to visit with! :D
Will let you know when I get blog updated. Have a Blessed day

"hijack" Ali, heard on the news last night that the waterfront was shut down because of the rain. So far your carnival adventures have been soggy. Pray for sun!!

Mary, what campground did you stay at in Pagosa Springs? I've stayed at Lower Piedra Campground, Happy Camper Campground & Lake Capote Campground with the view of Chimney Rock. I love that area!

thanks for the blog link Mary, you know Colorado is my very favorite state,
of course I only lived there for about 50 years but the pics make me homesick
for the mountains. (I don't like the desert either, so your not alone there)
Wolf Creek Pass is one of the toughest so if you made it over that one with
no problems you shouldn't ever have to doubt your rig on others. I'll be checking
in on your blog from time to time hoping for a homestate fix. :D

I love Colorado. Didn't get to see enough of it when I lived there tho. What will you be doing there for the summer?

Ooooh!! Lake City!!! We went there last year, and the views are to die for! Just so you know, the cell phone reception where we were was terrible. We could only get internet if we went to the RV park information/sign in building. Kind of freeing really....after we got used to it ;)

Believe it or not, I even have a picture from Lake City of us at the campground facing the mountain on my new blog (you'll have to scroll down a bit to see it. We're on Adirondack chairs). It's one of my favorite pictures and the only camping pic I have on the blog so far. It won't be long before we start full timing and will be able to add more to the photo collection.

Hope you're loving Lake City as much as we did!

Hey MM, you're in my favorite state. Don't ya just love that windy road coming down Slumgullion Pass into LC? (or did you come in the other way, from Gunnison?) My brakes got hot coming down Slumgullion, and i was in my CAR~! I'd hate to try that in a MH,, but then there's always 1st gear! :)

Like the others,, am planning on enjoying your pics of CO... soon! ;)

Have fun for me too, and ill give you a sincere "wish I were there" for sure!
