The soga continues

Hi Guys,

A fast update on my acquiring a rig.

As i feared, the place where I had the rig taken, Tom's and, the owner made a deal. The owner tells me the rig was only to be listed for consignment IF I didn't buy it. Meanwhile, Tom's went about fixing up stuff and listed it two places on the internet for sale. Also, Tom's had me change the date for the motor assessment until late in the week. Now I know why....they had the weekend to see what kind of a response they would get on line for the rig's sale. Long and short, the owner will still sell the rig to me for a couple of the fix-ups Tom's did but, Tom will no longer do my assessment and, the owner doesn't have time to take the rig. to the motor assessment place.

What can I do? What can I say? I'm not buying it without it being assessed. And, the logistics are now filled with bad vibs, on my end, for want of a better word. The owner is being very nice but still, why did he confuse the issue with the consignment deal and, without his help to get it to an assessment place, we are stalled. I am stalled.

Next case. I saw my "perfect rig", having the rear bedroom and all, in a toterhome in Mt. Way over what I can easily afford but, it is so "perfect", of such quality, I think I'm going to see if I can buy it. I spoke with the owner's tongiht,
they will take it to anyplace I want in the nearby city (there aren't many in that next of the woods...lol) which, in this case is Helena. I'm going to call the bank tomorrow and see what might be possible. I've got great credit but, I don't know that I can get a home equity loan in place fast enough. I'm not even sure I qualify for whatever specs they have for lending money these days. Are they even lending?

The rig is so cool. Custom all the way, granite counters, deep sink, 1996 GMC Top Kick 3``6 Cat, Allison 4 with 123
thousand miles. Just nicely broken in. It's all hardwood floor, lots of details. Would have to switch out the seats
in the cab from one seat to two, add a door in the bedroom, a balcony out back, that's about it. Then, of course,
the vegy. aspect.

So, there we have it. I'm so sick of the whole thing. If this doesn't work out I think I'll take a breather for a while.
Putting all these steps in place, it's like construction. Exhausting. Cumbersome. Just the getting the airline stuff in place, my girlfriend who was going to come with me to drive the other rig. back, getting farm coverage, on and on.....

hang in there, it just wasn't the rig for you, see, you have already found another one,
and there really are many more out there. I even saw some nice repo's go through the
auction on CrankyApe.com and they supply tons of pictures including pictures of any
damage any rig might have. I also saw some go through there that I thought were
overpriced for what they were. Anyway, it was fun just to look.

I too agree. Hang in there. The search for the "perfect" rig is not easy. I can attest to that too cause I am still looking myself. I find something I like but it's either too old, too many miles or too far over my budget. I saw the perfect one today at the park where I work. A full sized Chevy van with a high top, awnng on the side etc. Not for sale though, but just like I want. Didn't get a chance to talk with the owners to find out about it, how they got it etc. Hopefully they will be there tomorrow yet.
But I think that I would steer clear of the one at Tom's. Sounds like the owner may be nice, but I wonder if he's hiding something. Unless you have to have a rig tomorrow, I would pass and keep looking rather than take it unseen. And you already found another one you like, so number one may not be for you. They say there is always a reason when something happens or doesn't work out. Keep checking on Camping World's site too cause they are constantly changing. The season is still young yet too, so people lwill be tradng up or down.
