Gonna be a long day (week) as we are still getting rained on. TV said it's our 3rd wettest May on record, 1" short of breaking the all time record. :o
I'm so ready for some warm sun, and to get my RV out of storage and use her!

Camping in New Hampshire on our way thru Maine and into Canada and the Maritimes. Think we're going to try and wing it, which I'm ok with here in the states, but know that camping in this part of Canada isn't the same. We're not even sure of our route. So, once we hit Canada, no more computer-very $$$$$. Hopefully, all will go well and I'll post when we return. I'll keep checking the posts til we get too close to the border. Happy trails to everyone-going to stoke and enjoy the fire, drink a little wine and eat whatever tGM is cooking. Adieu, carold ps knowing tGM, we could be in the states longer than expected. Guess that's why they call it "jello"

Ava, can't wait to find out where your secret getaway is! When are you going? There are a lot of neat little areas around Arizona to visit. I get the Arizona Highways magazine and read about lots of fun getaways around there.

Today was perfect outside! 75 degrees, light breeze, sunny, low humidity! Beautiful! Everyone came out of hiding from yesterday's crappy weather. Lots of boats on the lake again, tons of bikes out on the trails, etc. Went to my dads and chatted with some neighbors I haven't seen for quite awhile. My dad and I went to his parents cemetary, then went to visit his sister and her ailing husband for a bit, then went to visit my mom's grave. I didn't have any flowers to leave there so, since her grave is under a big beautiful pine tree, I lined her marker with pine cones. Very original but looked nice. I think she would have approved. I had a nature scene carved on her marker of a cabin on a lake in the woods surrounded by mountains with deer nearby. She loved being up north in the woods on Lake Superior in her favorite cabin. If my dad hadn't been with me, I would have brought a picnic lunch like I usually do, and sat in my beach chair under the pine tree and had a nice long conversation with her. But he is impatient and likes to make a quick 5 minute visit.

Two days left of my office temp job and then I start my new job! Nervous but excited! Then Friday, I meet with Laurie from here for a mini GTG! Finally! She only lives about 3 miles down the road and we have been trying to find time to meet for the past several months! She is one busy lady!

Hope you all had a great weekend!
PS> Soos, so glad to hear that Hope is recooping just fine! Glad you had a great camping weekend with Little Bear and your friends!

Your day trip is going to be fabulous and you are just going to tease us all :P by not telling us even a hint?
Ava, shame on you, to tease sooo many women, but its fun and gives us something realllly big to look
forward too. There are so many places and things to visit in Az., I've been trying to think of what and where.
Guess I will be searching the forum, for the answer.
I'm glad the campfire isn't to big, warmish these days. Company is always great though.

Stay safe

Payson??
Ava, not sure what could be scary about that location but they are famous for their rodeos :D I figure that this time of year you must be heading for someplace cooler so my thoughts are you're going northeast near the mountains.

Had a big line of thunderstorms heading this way this afternoon but they went just south of us (they seem to all be doing that lately). The humidity is back now tho. Finished all my work today at Cargill, so tomorrow I will just go in to organize and pack files for my boss and pack up my personal stuff. Then I will be ready to start my new job on Thursday! I have Friday off so I will have a day to recoop from my first day of lots of cutting! It might be a little quieter this week because of the holiday so that I won't be so bombarded and will have time to get organized and familiar with everything and everyone there for the first day. Then Saturday I will hit the ground runnin'!!

Wow...haven't been here in awhile... Everyone is so busy.....took the day to do some house/camper cleaning...why does it always look messier when you get back than when you left.... Well, anyway....spent the long weekend up home...my 1st trip since last fall....my Mom is about the same, well, maybe a little more "lost" than before....but is physically, well.....nice weather to visit with my sisters and my brother....we all took flowers to the cemetery on Sat. planted my Dad's favorite "Dahlias" on his and my brother's graves.....On Sunday, visited with my niece and her family...new baby Vincent, is doing very well for being born about 6 weeks early.....then did the evening care of Mom while the rest of the crew there finished their annually, "Float down the Alleghany River" in canoes, etc....which ends with a big cook out at my brother's cabin by the river....then we came back here yesterday....

Spinner had a grand time swimming in the creek behind my sister's house where we stayed.....so all in all, Ernie, Spinner, & I had a good weekend....

Okay, I put more wood on the fire and am heading off to bed....Night all...

Too wet and rainy for a campfire tonight here. But a virtual campfire is always lit! Yay!

Well, I survived my first day at my new job! Actually, other than very sore feet, it went really well! Everyone there seems very nice and friendly, including the customers. I did 14 haircuts and make $52 in tips! Enough for gas and some groceries! I have tomorrow off but work the whole weekend and have Monday off so can recoop after two busy days. I think this will work out really well! I love being busy again (and making money!).

I experienced a small tragedy this morning on the way to work. A squirrel was hit by a car in front of me and it was trying to drag itself off the road by it's front feet. I stopped my car, got out and ran over and picked him up. He layed in my hands wimpering. One nice lady stopped to see if I needed any help. I put him in a box I keep in my car for such situations, then drove him to the nearest animal hospital. I knew he was bad off, probably a broken back. When I got there and carefully took him out of the box, he had just died. I felt so bad but was also relieved that he wasn't suffering anymore. He was just a young squirrel, maybe a couple months old. I am only 2 for 6 this year for rescues. Saved 2 turtles, lost a turtle, a duck, a sparrow and now a squirrel. I will keep trying tho. Luckily, the girls at my new job are all animal lovers so they were very sympathetic to my squirrel rescue attempt.

So now I am going to soak my aching feet and get ready for bed! We're suppose to have thunderstorms rolling thru tonight. Hopefully nothing severe, but I love to watch and listen to them!

Had a break from the rain today so I got my lawn mowed and the shrubs trimmed. Also got in a nice walk with my dog, Choco.
At dark it started raining again..sigh
My allergies are better although still bothering. At least the cough is almost gone. This is only day 2 of the new meds so I guess I should give it another couple days.
Glad your new job is going like you hoped, Barbie! Sorry about the little squirrel, tho. You tried. :(
Just wondering if Ava has given in and told about her surprise weekend trip and I missed the post?

What a day! After my morning work, I got busy getting unhooked and everything stowed for a short trip to fill Myrtle's propane tank. Had a couple of interruptions, but wasn't in a hurry. Did the chlorine thing for my fresh water talk and lines so it could slosh around in my tank while I drove. I was finally all ready to go and...Myrtle wouldn't start! I called my road service. The gal was asking me questions to try to pinpoint the problem. While we were talking, I turned the key and she started :o Then, I called around to see who would check her out. Ended up going to the dealership where I bought my truck. We've had work done there on our RVs. They squeezed me in...thank God! Well, then my steps wouldn'tretract! Can you believe it? The reason Myrtle wouldn't start was because the security system thought I was trying to steal the MH. I knew it was that fob!!! The mechanic, Jack, took it out and spliced it back together. He checked the steps and found the problem. He said it would take an hour and I would have to schedule an appt. I drove with the steps down on the way so drove back with them down. I will make an appt later, before I go on a trip. There was a place up close by that had propane so did get that filled. Came back and got all hooked up again and finally had something to eat.

Barbie...It sounds like your first day went well :D. It's good that you're getting good tips so you can get caught up!

I am beat! Keep the fire stoked!!!

Funny you should ask...I was just about to post about it anyways!

Well, I am sure earning my paycheck! My feet hurt like hell and I pulled a muscle in my back yesterday which hurts whenever I take a deep breath or turn. My bad knee started hurting yesterday so I have been wearing my knee brace and it feels better today. (I think I'm getting old!) I worked over 9 hours straight yesterday without hardly a break, and 7 hours today with a 10 minute break! I have made $52.50 each day in tips (odd that it is the exact same amount all three days!) so that is pretty good! Did 21 haircuts today! Whew!! I did enough haircuts to make bonus today too! My scissors bit the dust today (the blades were getting dull and I ordered a new pair last week which I will pick up tomorrow) and wouldn't cut at all, so I took a pair of old ones I had in my car and used them. They weren't much better but got me thru the day at least! It is hard to get used to working hard when I have been sitting around doing barely nothing for the past 6 months! I have tomorrow off so I can recooperate some before the next 3 days! It is fun tho! I really enjoy meeting and talking to all my customers. I really missed that.

So now I am beat! And hungry but too tired to get up and make myself something to eat! Maybe I will call and order a pizza! I do have cookie dough, so those will get made later on! I think I burned off enough calories today and yesterday to get by with that! I will be going to bed early tonight!
