Change in Summer Travel Plans

Postby Carolinagal » Sat May 29, 2010 8:02 pm

I've thought about how to tell my story here, and then I thought well my summer is going to be different, then I hoped, so there is the title. I'm terrible about making decisions, so hadn't really decided yet, what I was going to do :? but had several choices and was about ready to toss a coin. Then all these test the drs. have been doing, they found something !!!!! It seems I have quite a large tumor on my right kidney, with a cyst also. Tumor is suspected to be the big "C" . I am to have the kidney removed the 15th of June, so by the time I recoup, forget the summer travel. BUT I have my sight set on the Sept.GTG, so that will be my happy thoughts when things aren't to well here for me. Sorry to dump this on you all, but if you tell bad things that are happening to you, it helps. Especially when you live as isolated as I am here.

I hope you all post pics of all your doings, as I will be really looking forward to them. I love yours, you have posted of your first camping trip of the season Soos. What a lovely area.

Safe and Happy travels all, and don't forget to post the pics

Oh, Carol, so sorry about the needed surgery, but I hope that it is contained and the surgery takes care of it entirely.

Sending you healing thoughts and hoping to see you again soon.

I'm so sorry that you got this news, Carol. Our prayers will be that the Doctors will take perfect care of you and you will be completely healed. I only wish you lived closer, I'd help take care of you. Keep looking forward to the future and hopefully you'll be ready to hit the road, come Sept. We're all here for you and you'd better keep us up to date on your progress and every day things, too.

Carol, my thoughts and prayers are with you. Are you going to Chattanooga hospital? Wish I were close by to help out. Much love and hugs to you. I have faith that the "c" is contained and this will take care of everything.

Well it sounds as if they have a pretty good idea of what you are dealing with....and September will be so much cooler for traveling, right? Will you be able to stay with someone for awhile after they kick you out following surgery? We will all be thinking of you. It all sounds scary but I just give thanks that you have doctor/s that can find stuff when it needs to be found. I don't like thinking of the alternative. Make this side trip short and get back on the road again soon!

Wow, ladies, you've already boosted my moral!! I didn't expect any responses until maybe tomorrpw. Wow !!!
Drs. seem to think that if it is the C word that it probably is contained and not spread. Verdict, will come after surgery. But all of the other test, showed none anywhere but there.
I have had cancer years ago, thought I would move on to another disease, if something came along in my later years
Thank you all for being the lovely bunch that you are. I needed and you provided. Thank you!!
I will try to post more, as I am nervous over this and reading of all the doings on here is such a "Great Help". I have laughed a great deal, past couple of weeks, over happenings on here, just wasn't up to posting, but I will make more of an effort.

Thank you

Carol---so glad you let us know what's going on. And, as I read your message over again a few times, it is STILL possible that the growth is yet another cyst or a type of anomoly with a small c and not the big C. I am going to look on the positive side until they get the thing in their hands and throttle it! How nice that we have been blessed with two kidneys to allow for something to go wrong with one of them! Thank heavens for your great docs that they discovered this unwanted mass early enough to keep it from breeding. I do hope that you will be able to have someone stay with you after the surgery? It is nice to not be so alone when recuperating and fighting.

Thank you for trusting us and sharing your life with us. I will be sending all sorts of healing powers your way in the meantime. Are you in any pain at this time? Let's hope the next two weeks go by FAST for you, and as pain-free as possible.

Hugs from me and Molly
