Esprit, my inflatable kayak

My friend Ev gave me some photos she took of me and my kayak the day we paddled the Silver River.

There's a half-mile trail to the canoe/kayak launch at Silver River State Park. I bought this little hand truck at Lowe's to transport my gear. Here it is all loaded in the parking lot. For more new pictures of launching the kayak...see my blog link below.

Love your blog! Great set up for toting your kayak and it looked easy enough to get it water worthy.
I'd love to learn to kayak but it would have to be on some pretty tame, lazy flowing water. I like being on the water, but not in it! ;) :o

Liz - Loved your selected scriptures on your blog especially the one with the sheep in Montana. Thanks for sharing. And, good luck with your kayak adventures.

Hey Liz, I think that's the picture I took? In the header of your blog? That's the reason I got yelled at.

Good to see your blog and to see more of your kayak.

Lenora, kayaking is actually very easy. That said, I wouldn't go out on real choppy waters or if it's too windy - but no telling that couldn't come up while out. What it does require, though, is more upper body strength than I have. I'm working on that.

Thanks for sharing more pics of your trip with us! It is so peaceful looking there, love the clear water. Do you leave your hand truck and gear at the landing while you're out? No worries about theft?

Yes, you took that picture....love it! I'll add your credit on the blog. That was a unique experience, and I'm not sorry we got yelled at....just glad we got some photos.

Vickie, we locked the hand truck to the railing with a bicycle lock.

Lenora....I only kayak on calm waters.....no whitewater.

Liz, looks like you have quite the system going for your kayaking adventures. Your friend also has a great idea for toting her kayak. Very clever. Thanks for posting pics, it was a very peaceful "afternoon". I know you are looking forward to getting back ON the water. :D Linda

Great pics, Liz! If I find I can't cary my lightweight canoe (18 or so pounds) with me when I take to the road, I will be looking at inflatables also. I already have a canoe hauler that folds up which I used to use for my big, heavy canoe.

Can't wait 'til you can once again take to the waters!

I don't need credit. Glad I got that picture and I don't care that I got yelled at either. Was more than worth it to get that picture. Love seeing it on the blog. Love the blog. Will bookmark it to follow you along.

George and I came as close to death as we've ever come before while kayaking.
Would I do it again - YOU BET! In a heartbeat. (George - no so much...)

Liz, I LOVE your blog!

Beth, why did you get yelled at for taking that photo? Because Liz was trying to mow down the sheep?

Barbie, there were shepherds on ATVs who were parting the sheep ahead of us so we could pass through. We were supposed to stay tight together in our caravan. When we paused to take pictures, it allowed the sheep time & space to get between the vehicles, and the shepherds had to start all over again to part them. So, they were not too happy with us "tooorists."

Those men were REALLY NOT HAPPY AT ALL. WE WERE !!!!! :D I've never seen so many sheep at one time. Glad to be in Liz's r.v., looking out at them ,don't think it would have been neat outside walking :P (what you might have stepped in, wouldn't have been nice either) Tried not to look happy when those guys, looked in at us, but that was a neat experience for all of us. I wasn't doing to well with LIz's camera, so she took it. Of course, we kind of stopped and that had one of those guys coming right up to the r.v. :P
Looking at that picture, I can visualize the landscape , brings back everything. Really neat way to start your Blog, Liz.

Happy memory !
