PICS OF MY CAMPING WEEKEND

Postby Nasoosie » Fri May 28, 2010 1:25 pm

I took 3 pictures of my campsite. Later I’ll go for another walk with my camera in tow and take some more shots.

Image
One side view of my site.

Another shot more from the front. Notice all the space I have on the end of the row as I am, and all those beautiful white pine trees!

And the last pic from across the access road looking at my site.

It’s a perfect day here today….temperature 75, sunny, no wind!

I hope all the rest of you will have as nice a day!

Looks like a great site, Soos, no wonder it's your favorite! Is this the same one you posted pics from last year?

How's the new truck tow?

Looks like Molly is enjoying herself too, I see her little shade bed by the trailer!

I sure wish I was doing that this weekend! Love the trees! What are you going to do all weekend? I saw your bike in one of the photos. Do you socialize with other campers at all, or just do your own thing with Molly?
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Nice campsite, Soos. We tried to get a spot, but to no avail, so went on to Burlington to visit a good friend over the holiday. Sorry we missed you. carold

I have a ton of friends who live on this side of the mountain, as I lived over here for a number of years, so I visit with them and they will come and sit around my fire for a couple of nights as well. I brought my guitar, but haven't strummed it once yet!

As for the other campers, when I ride my bike around, I am a social butterfly----I stop to look at rigs, dogs, kids, do some just idle chatting, you name it! The poor campers probably say, "Here she comes again----QUICK, HIDE!" :) After an entire winter alone in my house, I LOVE the hubub of this place on Memorial Day! If it were as hot as it was last week, I would go swimming at the local beach, but it is jacket weather for now. Other than that, Molly and I walk, meet other 4-footers and 2-footers, drive around town to see who I might know, whatever. Other years I packed my canoe, but this year I was too tired after a day at school with my group that I was just thankful to get hitched and set up here! It's so much fun for me to see rigs and the myriads of tents people set up. (Even more fun to watch the newbies, like me, try to park and set up!)

Okay Soos...I am not stalking you...but I googled "Adirondacks/KOA" and I'm quite sure that I viewed the one where you are staying because it showed pictures of a pig roast on Memorial Day! They have a picture posted of a Lean to 1. I have never seen one of those at a campground! Do people sleep in them or are they a site shelter for tenters? Personally I think I would prefer a tent for sleeping! ;) And it's been a very long time since I've slept in a tent!
My mind works like lightning...one brilliant flash and it's gone.

Wish you could be here with me, dpf! They have several leanto sites here, all of which are neat, and lots of room. You can camp in them on matress pads and sleeping bags, as well as set up shelters outside for dining area, cooking, games, etc.

They also have a lot of Kamping Kabins and luxurious Kamping Kottages----the Kottages are furnished but for bedding....and they are pricey!

When I travel to FL by myself, I always try to stay in a Kamping Kabin along the way----so much nicer than a motel room, and about half the price. There are also tons of tent sites here, one of which has the neatest view in the campground! I'll get a picture of that one later, if no one is in it.

What a nice campground. Sure sounds like they have it all, no wonder you keep going back. I don't think the other campers will run away when they see you, just the opposite, they will remember you and how much fun they also had over the weekend. (I know you were joking, but still...) Looking forward to more pictures. Linda
