Poor baby. I think she'll look cute with that haircut!

That's wonderful news Janice!! Love the idea of the haircut, but you're going to have to put red and blue streaks in it with jello to make her a punker! I think I suggested that to Sparkle at one time, but don't think she liked the idea so much.

Oh, I'm so glad to see Kiwi home and hear the attitude is back. What wonderful news.

And, yes, I knew Kiwi is a dog - so tell me why my fingers typed cat? I sure don't know - but is something I would expect from me.

I think whether I'm a bad doggie mommie is still up for discussion. She started chewing at her hind end (not something she usually does) so I plopped her in the sink and gave her a bath (back from the neck only!). She was pretty unhappy with me, but I thought maybe she had soiled fur from being in the kennel that was irritating her skin. Her belly is matted, and I was also afraid that she'd catch a stitch in one of the tangles.

She's snuggled now in a towel on her bed ... snoozing away (She's kinda conked out from the painkillers ...). So perhaps a few minutes of post-op infuriation will be worth it in exchange for relief of other ails. Who knows.

Thanks everyone for your support. I know her hair will come back in VERY quickly (it grows about a quarter of a inch a month).

Her eye looks so swollen but I am sure it feels a lot better than it did. Love the idea of the "sweeping bang" style, very popular with the girls right now!
Good moms make mistakes but are right there to fix it and make it all better. Bad moms just don't care. So you are a great mom!

Here's hoping you heal fast, Kiwi, and I know how much better you are feeling! You have a great mom who gave you the relief from pain and a chance at a happier life!

Good morning everyone! My days right now are measured by how well Kiwi is doing in recovering from her surgery. So far, life is good. I've been spoiling her with chicken to make sure she ate (and I hid meds in there as well).

This morning? She discovered a pill in her chik'n and now is turning up her nose at it altogether!!

I guess the next stop is lobster and filet mignon.

The swelling has gone done considerably and the incision is healing nicely. What a DIVA (her, not me).

(NO, I mean it. Really. I'm the drama queen. SHE'S the diva.)

They're like children - know exactly how to take advantage of us. I think she'll look cute with her "punker" hair style. Glad she has her "attitude" back.

Yup, she's got your number, Janice!! Chewy gets a pill twice a day for allergies and thank goodness she's such a little oink she doesn't care what's in the treat as long as she gets some cheese or chicken! LOL! And Barbie is right about the difference between a good mom and a bad mom..and you're a great mom!

I posted this on Facebook today:

Cognitive dissonance. My little (now) one-eyed Kiwi dog is indeed feeling better ... she just kicked the snot out of her bigger housemate. I'm glad she is well enough to be mean again. If that makes any sense.

My FB friend Jodi replied:
"She's channeling her inner pirate."

Great minds think alike.
