Calling All Bird Smarties

..

Is this bird an Indigo Bunting? The picture in my Birds of Tennessee book doesn't show black down the back.
(that's the best picture I could get through 2 windows and a screen!)

looks like an Eastern Bluebird to me, but I can't tell from the picture if it
has any brown on its underside. Maybe Birdie will pop in here and let us know
what it is. Sure is pretty.
edit....
I just looked it up, the beak is wrong for a bluebird but the beak is correct
for an indigo bunting, I'd say its an indigo bunting.

Looks just like the Indigo Bunting in one of my books.

Good job - and don't you love taking pics through windows and screens?

I think it is and Indigo Bunting too, we've had them at our feeder all week. Hope they stay around. They are pretty shy and fly away at the slightest movement or noise.

if you hear the "sweet, sweet, sweet, sweet" call,... it's the bunting.

Yes, I agree with the others that it is an Indigo Bunting.

How lucky you were to get a shot of him even if thru screen. Have you seen more than one?

We have a lot here this year. Just a few last year. The color doesn't seem as brilliant as the first time I saw them...maybe it's the 2 layers of glass and a screen!
