SUNNY SUNDAY COMING UP

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

SUNNY SUNDAY COMING UP

Postby Nasoosie » Sun May 23, 2010 6:22 am

HAPPY SUNDAY MORNING TO US ALL!

What a perfect camping night it was out here in Little Bear! Both Molly and I had a great sleep. I need to turn on my hot water heater and be sure that is working ok before I take off on Thursday for the KOA weekend over the mountain. I made sure water ran out of it just fine before I screwed the cal rod back in it, so there shouldn't be any problem. No leaks anywhere this morning that I am aware of, and if there were any, I would hear my house pump turning on and off to refill its pressure tank inside.

I have three class days of school this week, then our field day to the bowling alley, lunch and ice cream, and finally our 4-day weekend! Soon it will be June----my last month as a full-time teacher! What a strange mixture of fear, dread, ecstacy, joy, feeling of freedom is this retirement stuff. I got my certified mail receipt from the retirement association, so I should be getting my first check deposited the last day of July. I am having them withold the most I can opt for without adding any more to see if I can exist on whatever that will amount to. My checks won't level out until the final calculation which will be the larger of the average of my final 3 years of salaries, or the average of the final 5 years of salaries plus my incentive money. Also, as my checks are never consistent due to my booking extra hours or subbing for missing teachers, etc.-----my final calculation remains to be seen. A surprise, as it were, and I am hoping a surprise that will sustain me!

My job for today will be mowing again, and that will be it. Perhaps I will get a chance to clean out the leanto also, so I can spend some nights down there. Or maybe I will just loll in the sunshine that I am hoping will soon become a reality.

I am still revelling in the joy for my son and Melissa's new property purchase! My winter home base for Little Bear has materialized! They will wing their way to Coast Rica this morning at 10:00 am, and I probably won't be able to hear from them until their return next weekend. I hope they have a super time and take tons of pictures of the different plants and animals they will encounter.

Stop by and fill us in on your day while you sip on some hazlenut coffee.
Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!

good morning
Soos, your excitement generates through the land of cyberspace, I'm so happy for you.
Not much doing today in my world, did up my uniform shirts yesterday and ran out of
laundry soap so the rest will have to wait till next weekend. Have a few things on my
"honey do" list and of course the "honey" is me so maybe I'll get one or two done and
maybe I won't  I could surprise the girls and take them for a walk outside the fence,
in the desert :o as I have the key to the gate over at the neighbors where I take care
of their yard for the summer. Now that really sounds like a good idea the more I think
about it. Will have to do that while its still cool.
So, coffee is good and any treats will have to be virtual cause all I have is cinnamon
grahams. Enjoy your day and be safe.
I've been wondering how Echo and Kelly are doing up at the Kabab lodge.

Morning Soos and Ava, I've been camping without cell service for a couple days so am catching up with everybody here. Yay Soos! that's great news about new 'winter home'.

It's HOT and muggy in central TX. I tried the Gulf coast, but it was worse, duh. Another night I stayed in Goliad, that was actually pretty comfortable, a nice breeze came up in the evening. It's a fascinating area with tons of history, I will surely go back next winter.

My DD, DGD, and their lovely nanny of three years are going through transitions for next few weeks. DGD will go to school (!) in August and Nanny is going to new job with newborn at end of this week. DD and DGD are going to France to stay with friend for a couple months, but not until June 15. So, my part will be to help with childcare for the next two weeks. Not sure what that means, but will be fun to spend extra time with my DGD.

Then, it will be time for me to head home to CA. I'm so looking forward to camping in the mountains. Big snow this winter will keep the passes closed until late unless it turns really hot. So far, very cool spring, my Dad and Sis have their wood stoves working overtime this season.

Now to catch up on all the forum news, have a fun day!

Today is a bit more rainy then yesterday. It is baseball season..so like most weekends I will be heading out to the baseball field shortly.

At yesterdays game, we did manage to talk with the field manager. We have to touch base with him mid-week. We can bring the trailer out for the tournament. It is Friday- Sunday. It is a lighted ball field so they have night games for the boys..the boys love playing the night games. We are opted to bring the trailer out, as it is a one hour drive from our house to Sumas, WA.

I did learn yesterday..that this is the new field. I now joke about how DH got me lost in Suma's WA. It has one main street and a population of maybe 1000 people.
I went to the "old" ball field. Which has the same name as the new one. They are located just behind each other, but because of a creek or something..the entrance is 1/2 mile away. Dh was not sure of where I needed to go to get there. I ended up at the cemetery. I did finally find my way there..once DH ask someone for street names.

Not much else happening around here.

My DS that finally found a job, it was a temporary job, with the possibility of working into part-time after the 6 week period. Will they found out on Friday, that they will not be keeping any of the temp employees. The nice thing is he finally has some work experience...it is so hard for college graduates. Most places he has applied, like the college degree...but now they want the degree and work experience. If no one hires them...how do they get the chance to get the work experience.

Well I need to head out and get to the baseball field.

Not that I am great at keeping this updated...but I try..

It is going to be hot (90) and humid today so I have the place closed up with the air on. Hate that humidity! No wind today either. After yesterdays gale force winds, that is a relief tho. I can hear the birds chirping so they are probably relieved too!

Was up real late last night playing on the internet so I slept in late today. Had a dream about my mom and woke up with tears in my eyes. I sure miss her  It will be 3 years on June 22nd since she's been gone.

Gotta get caught up on bills and laundry today, and sort thru my clothes. Get rid of things that don't fit, I don't like or that don't go with anything. There is a Kohl's just down the street from my new job, so once I get a little extra money, I can check out their sales and replace a few things I need there.

Still have to upload those pics on here from my day at the Arboretum last week...keep forgetting!

Have a great day!

PS> Soos, I love the name "Little Bear" for your trailer!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)
