I remember those hot temps, Ava. I used to live in the Mojave Desert in CA. It has been cool and rainy here, but cleared up this evening. It did get up to 70 today, but supposed to be in the upper 80's by Sunday :o That will be a shock for us. Windy, of course!

My exciting news is that I don't have to go to court in SD, after all :D I called the courthouse today to confirm and the clerk said the judge changed his mind and doesn't have to see me. I'm glad I called! I bet I would have gone all the way up there to find out I didn't need to :x I will still need to go to change my DL and address at my mail forwarding service, etc., but at least I can wait 'til I get paid now.

I got my flowers planted in my little flower bed today :D It looks pretty good! I put 80 lbs. of potting soil in there first. Could have used more, but made it work. Glad I bought it because the soil was clay when I dug down in it. I still have some flowers I want to plant in a planter, but I need to get some more potting soil tomorrow. One of the rangers brought me some more mulch a couple of days ago, so I got that spread out yesterday. I could use some more to make it deeper and hopefully keep the weeds from popping through. I may put in a work order for some rock on my site so I don't keep getting puddles by Myrtle when it rains.

I think I told you about the coons taking my bird feeder night before last? Well, I found the feeder in the weeds (empty) and filled it back up. The Oriole feeder was empty, but they couldn't get it off the shepherd's hook. I had to straighten my shepherd's hook, as they bent it over. I didn't know you could bend those! I put a 5' piece of stove pipe around the pole and so far so good ;) There were muddy footprints on the stove pipe so I know they tried  Wish I would have seen that! Mom gave me an old feeder of hers so I hung it up on the shed. It's rigged so that if a squirrel tries to feed, this thing flips down and they will fall off. Hope the coons don't get it down or I will have to move it.

Well, better get to bed. Have to work in the morning! Keep the fire stoked :D

I've had a rough few days. For one I started the new BP meds just before flying to Illinois. While in Illinois they made me tired and caused my ankles to swell. Since returning home I have been listless. I figured jet lag and emotional stress. Yesterday I could hear my heart beating in my ears (ever had that?), and my BP was starting to rise. I promised my SIL that I'd watch the two GDs overnight so I had them and was worried. I sat the 10 yr old down and told her that if Grammy needs any medical help to call 911 and I left her a written note of what to say and then also left her a note to give the medics. You never know and I figure I'd better be prepared. Luckily I didn't need any medical help but did call the 'after hours' Dr this morning as my BP was 156/81!! I decided to quit the new meds and go back to the one that was working just fine before I switched. You might recall I switched BP meds cause the newest one was a beta blocker and my neurologist said it would help some with my newly diagnosed Essential Tremors.
The girls just left and I am going to hit the sofa for some R&R. So far my BP is staying down.

Glad to hear you decided to just sit back and relax for awhile, Lenora. You've had a lot on your plate and it can be hard to evaluate a new med while in the midst of all you've been thru. Sit back, enjoy the fire, and maybe one of the gals will play some soothing music. Hmmm, that sounds inviting-for me, I'll just add a glass of wine. carold

Am enjoying the campfire but the heat is not needed these past few days here in SW Ohio. I have been spending that last few days playing catch up on errand running. The house cleaning is still a lost cause. My next work project doesn't start up again until June 9th. This coming weekend is another Dog Show weekend for ms Izzy.ted Our kennel club is running the Fri and Sat shows so I will be helping out with some of the chores between ring times. I have warned Sarah that I am planning to head to Alabama after the holiday and silly woman has offered space in her driveway. I am excited. We will keep Carol on speed dial if we forget any of the rules for the card game. Well, if I plan on balancing my budget and figuring out how much gas cash I actually have I need to finish setting up my new Apple laptop. My old one kept running slower and slower.. :o and had started frequently freezing up when ever I went out on Safari or Foxfire, as in "program is not responding" ....and I would have to force quit and try to start over. I decided that I needed to make the jump while I could still retrieve my files :? My netbook is great for checking e-mail. the forum, blogs and FB but I need my Mac to post pictures and do boring but necessary thinks like track expenses. :) Off to play.........no wine tonight....have to be able to know what I'm deleting!

Most of the day here was warm and beautiful, but now it is rainy. At least we didn't get the heavy rains, hail, and wind that some towns got. I'm watching "Biggest Loser". I have been thin all my life, but I just love this show :o I have always loved "before and after" shows and photos, so guess it fits into that category. I love the potential that people have and to see that come out. AWESOME!!!

I'm so happy to find out that I don't have to foam clean on holiday weekends...YIPPEE!!! It will be our first really busy weekend of the season, especially if the weather is as nice as predicted. It would inconvenience people to close comfort stations or shelters for deep cleaning.

I'm anxious for the weekend! My DS and DD and DGK's will be coming :D My first overnighter since I got Myrtle :D My DS is bringing his dog Charlie. Charlie used to me my dog and has lived with DS for the past 2 yrs. Now DS is traveling a lot and wants Charlie to be in home more suited to him. He's a Border Collie/Lab mix so he has a lot of energy and he's very smart. My DN and her family will be adopting him :D They live on a farm so lots of room to run and kids to play with. He will be so happy  We are having a big family get together down at their farm on Sunday afternoon. It will be a better family reunion than our official family reunions.

I picked up a couple of pictures from Mom's to hang on my walls. One is an Indian watercolor that I bought in Scottsdale, AZ. The other is an inspirational print that my DD gave me. I hung them and it feels even more like home in here now ;) It's the most wall space I've had in an RV to even hang anything.

Well, it's still raining here so someone else needs to stoke the fire ;)

We also got narrowly missed by the severe storms here tonight. Hit Mpls and St Paul but missed us on the west side. Looked pretty ominous though looking towards downtown!

Killed a lot of time at the office today. Took a walk thru the woods there for about an hour. Very beautiful and peaceful. Hard to believe I work there in the middle of all that nature! Tomorrow I am having lunch with some of the girls I used to work with years ago when I worked there before.

I had three haircuts tonight at the shop. The last one was a guy who looked familiar to me but I didn't ask his name right away. We had a nice conversation, but I could tell he had been drinking some. It wasn't until he was paying, that I asked for his name, and discovered he is the ex-husband of my girlfriend, Cathy, in Florida! He has been a wiped out alcoholic his whole life (reason she left him). He has two daughters he barely ever visits or talks to. He has rarely ever seen his grandkids. When he does call his kids, he is usually smashed, which is very upsetting to them. It is too bad he never straightened out his life.

I have had the AC running constantly since it got fixed yesterday but the humidity has been so bad that the temp hasn't gone down much from 80 in here. Now it is cooler and less humid outside (a cold front moving thru) so I just shut off the AC and opened up the windows. There is a nice breeze coming in off the lake so hopefully, that will finally cool it off in here. Supposed to be around 80, sunny and much less humid all thru the weekend here, so that will be great! Right now, the dew point in St Paul is 66 and the dewpoints just a few miles west of me are at 38, so there is a big difference coming this way!

Finally talked to my boss at the salon today. She just said she is sad about losing me and will really miss me, but understands why I am leaving. She knows how tough it has been for me financially for the past 6 months. She is really struggling there too. I wouldn't be surprised if she ends up closing the shop soon.

Hope everyone had a good day and has fun plans for the weekend! I will have 4 days off and have no plans as of yet...wish I had enough money to go camping somewhere but by now all the campgrounds are booked up anyways. And I am not even sure where all my camping stuff is. Probably up in my dad's attic which is a big, black hole! Once something goes up there, it is never seen again! :o

it is indeed time to sit back and relax and enjoy the fire!! Had this thought yesterday maybe I'll make cinnamon rolls and did the stupidest thing post on FB should I make cinnamon rolls tomorrow??? I did make the rolls was getting ready to roll them out when I found out I didn't have as much brown sugar as I thought so we decided to run to town get some sugar brown and powdered and grab a sub just as we were leaving our dd and 4 of our gchildren came so grabbed hot dogs and buns along with the sugar and came back....just now took out the last of the cinnamon rolls ..........wonder how disappointed they would have been if I hadn't made the rolls???? Now I need to package them up or something...
wish we were getting the nice weather that you are....woke up to snow but it melted and by the time the day ended we had blue skies!
We have a orientation tomorrow they have one every year whether you are new or not so will take some of the rolls with us never hurts do brownie points does it?

Nice quiet evening for a campfire! Getting a bit humid out again tho :( Gotta keep those graham crackers wrapped up tight! Saw a recipe today for S'Mores that had sliced bananas in them! That sounded really yummy!

Went to my orientation today for my new job at Great Clips. Just filled out some paperwork, etc. I did find out that they are really fussy about apparel and footwear! I have lots of pants that aren't quite jeans and look nice that I have in many colors with matching tops. Those pants are a NO GO here. I think I will cut them off for shorts, since none of my current shorts fit me anymore. I have some dress pants I can wear there. Also, we are not allowed to wear any open-toed shoes, or athletic shoes. My manager said that basically anything with laces or straps are considered "athletic shoes". I told her that I have to wear shoes with laces or straps since I have extremely narrow feet and need to be able to adjust the shoes to fit. It seems odd to me that for a job where you are on your feet for 8 hours straight, that they would be so fussy about the style of shoes! I ended up stopping at Kohls. Most of what they have (and everyone else this time of year) is sandels and tennis shoes. I found a pair of loafers on sale but they are slightly small for me, but without being able to adjust them, it is the only way I can wear those kind of shoes and not walk right out of them! I bought them for now but will have to keep looking. I can't believe how expensive shoes are! All I own are tennis shoes, moccasins (with laces), and sandles (with buckles).

Anyways, I was fairly busy at the old salon tonight. My last night there! Several of my customers wanted my business card to come back to me, so I had to tell them I was leaving. It is a long haul from there to where I am going, so they weren't interested in going out that far. I have a few who have said they will go there tho! Nice to know people like what I do. Most men love the way I cut their hair. I have a special technique that works well for them.

Time for bed. I'll put in a few hours at the office job tomorrow and then on "vacation" until Tuesday! No big plans tho. Lots of housework to get caught up on. Will try to see if I can get together with Laurie from this forum. We just can't seem to get our schedules to cooperate (she is a very busy lady!).

Have a good night!

Very very tired tonight. Didn't get much sleep last night, up early and was on the go most of the day. We helped set up the ring tables this morning and then stopped to show. The heat almost did me in. It caught me by surprise because I hadn't felt too,too hot but by the time I made it back to the rig with Izzy I was beginning to get light headed with an upset stomach. I quickly turned the air conditioner on and sat down for awhile. My body doesn't like freezing temps of winter and apparently isn't tolerating heat like it used to either. Hydrtion, hydration..... Izzy didn't get the point today but a very good friend won with his four year old girl. Ed is pushing 80. I met him over 23 years ago at a Dayton Dog SHow. He was waiting to show with one of his dogs and I introduced myself and started asking questions about his English Cocker. Ben was showing a Golden in Juniors at the time and I had been researching dog breeds, had admired the ECS but had never met one in person. Ed ended up inviting the whole family up to Columbus, Oh and to meet all 5 of his dogs. So, Izzy didn't mind congratulating Ed. Need to take a shower and get to bed early tonight ...the alarm goesoff too early. There are no other English Cockers showing tomorrow. Ed's grandson is graduating from high school and they are going to the ceremony. I have a friend who will show her for me anyway.. Hay whe I tell people that she got Best in Breed do I really have to tell them there was no competition? :D ANy was my friend Jamie breeds and shows smooth and wire fox terriers and has show other dogs from freinds. She works as a groomer through the week but is hoping to expand her talents to handling other people's dogs. SHe is fun to watch. Dogs respond to her voice and touch very well. I think Izzy will like her and the benefit is that I will actually get to watch Izzy :)

The campfire is wonderful tonight and I have just about fallen asleep in the chair. Herschel doesn't know it but he is about to get a bth...well maybe tomorrow night. He wants to be extra handsome when he goes to meet the wild women of Huntsville....Not sayng that he won't jump in water if he finds some.

Tina, you need to be very careful with that heat. I hope you take it as easy as possible and keep hydrated.

Was kind of a crappy day outside today. Lots of bad storms just south of here but they missed us here, but I could hear the distant thunder from them. I think everyone stayed home today. No boats on the lake, no cars going by on the main road outside my apartment, no one outside in the courtyard. My phone didn't even ring all day!
I did 6 loads of laundry, then went thru all my clothes and got rid of tons of things I never wear, are outdated, don't fit or were worn out. The colored jeans I have that I can't wear at my new job, all got cut off into bermuda shorts and hemmed by hand (9 pairs!). Also cut off a dress I never wear and turned it into a cute summer top. So it was a pretty productive day today!
I think I will go out and sit on the porch with a book for awhile. It is nice and cool out there tonight. Not sure what I will do tomorrow. Depends on the weather. If it is nice, I will get some air in my bike tires and go for a ride. Also go with my dad to the cemetaries. If it isn't nice out, maybe I will go thru my millions of books I have collected over the years and see if I can part with any of them! That will be difficult! Then there are the storage rooms to sort thru! Gotta really downsize if I am going to be moving across the country in 3-4 months!

Great evening for a campfire! Ate all the chocolate for the S'Mores (sorry! ) but will have some for next time! I promise!
