Re: Liz - I have a pulse

Postby Liz » Fri May 21, 2010 11:48 am

You thought I was going to say I STILL have a pulse, didn't you? But the 80% clogged artery was preventing blood flow to my left arm and no pulse could be felt in that arm. The stent placement was a success and I now have a strong pulse. PTL Only complication was bleeding at the femoral artery entry point so dr. had to "plug" it.

The stress test the other day found no other clogged arteries.

Now I get so sit in my recliner all day while my dd waits on my every whim. Can shower & remove pressure bandage tomorrow, drive to church on Sunday, and kayak next weekend if I want to.

Thank you all for your good thoughts & prayers. The procedure itself was a piece of cake....pound cake.

Wonderful, great, whooppeee ! ! ! Take it easy and enjoy a day of leisure. You can practice rowing next week. The PTL may slow you down a day or two. Don't want to mess up the plug job. Another name for Freedom - stenting.

YAY, Liz! I was so happy to see your post on here just now! I've been thinking about you and wondering how things were going. I am curious as to what kind of 'plug' they use to stem the blood flow from your femoral artery? Some sort of Fun Tak?? :)

Anyway, stay rested in your recliner and enjoy the attention of your daughter! MIne just left after an all-day visit that was wonderful, so I delayed getting my trailer until tomorrow. I get to spend so little time with her that it was worth staying right here.

Sigh----I am feeling relief now for your finished procedure! And I am certain you are, too!
