Lenora, I've been away from the campfire for a while. I'm sending hugs and condolences. Really made me stop and think because my sister's birthday is the 11th of May also. I hope that the time you have spent with family has helped you to grieve and process this whole ordeal. Just another reminder that life is a fleeting fragile thing and we should take each and every day and make the most of it. It can be gone in a flash. May you find peace Lenora.

Thank you for thinking of me. I did post earlier in Good Morning.
I just checked the flight I am listed on and it is full and I fly stand by so tomorrow will be a long day trying to find a flight home on Alaska Air. My DD works for them and I can fly free but its space a available.

What a gorgeous day today! Just perfect! I had to work all day but went to play golf afterward on my league. It was so nice out, no bugs, light breeze, 75 degrees, and if you don't count the first and last holes, I played really well! I even got a par on one hole! For me that is really good! I got 4 bogies, 2 double bogies, and the two other holes I don't want to talk about! Not bad for my first time out this year! Altho, last year, my first three times out, I played great and then it all went to h**l after that! So we'll see...

Will have to leave the sliders open to the porch tonight to get the nice breeze off the lake! Love that smell! Also love the smell of a good bonfire! Perfect night for that!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Lenora,

I was so shocked to hear about your sister  My sympathies go out to you and your family. I know you will feel the loss deeply, but in time, the memories will bring you peace. I will keep you and yours in my prayers. There isnt much a person can say at a time like this. "Blesse are those who mourn in sorrow, for they shall be consoled". "Blessed are those who weep and moourn, for someday they shall laugh". Take care.

I got the last seat on the last flight direct to Portland, OR from Ohare. I was very fortunate to get it, too.
I arrived home around 8 last night, exhausted, only to find my DD and 2 GDs had stopped by and left me groceries, flowers and homemade cards. The 8 yr old even taped a dollar in the one she made me. :P I also found that my 10 yr old neighbor girl mowed my lawn for me. It looked like a bad haircut but I am so touched by her love it doesn't matter in the least. I am so blessed.

Oh, (((((Lenora)))))!! I'm so, so, sorry to hear about your sudden loss of you sister....I, too, haven't been to the "campfire" in awhile and am dealing with my own "family crisis", so I apologize for not sending my heart-felt sympathy to you and yours sooner. Yep, feeling guilty cause you were so supportive to me, along with many others here, last fall when I lost my brother....I hope and pray that, with God's help, all of you are starting to heal and that your memories will sustain you during the process.....I have found that the love and caring thoughts of all here help greatly.......Thinking of you....

Lenora. ..So glad you made it home safely! I love what your family and neighbor girl did for you! How sweet!!!

I got my laundry done today, but still need to get it put away and my sheets on the bed. Mom and I went flower shopping and to the Half Price Book Store for a bird book. They moved onto a new location...previously Shoe Carnival. Now I have to find where my favorite shoe store went! I picked up some more of my things from Mom's garage, now that I've got my stuff organized. She fed me a quick dinner and I dashed home to feed Rags and take him out, then off again for a much needed massage. Now, I better get that laundry out away and sheets on the bed so I can hit the hay. Back to work tomorrow.

Keep the fire stoked!

Lenora
So glad that you are at home! Wish your trip 'home' had been for other reasons.......It is a tough time one that is on going! My sister died in 73 at age 13 it was hard.....and there are times even now when I can think of Mary Ann and tears will come...but you will be comforted and remember the fun times...my thoughts go out to you
