Thank you all for your warm replies and welcome. Now I'm asking myself why I didn't seek out women like you sooner. As you all know people look at us as a novelty, an oddity....it's getting better, I think there are more of us out there these days. I'm really looking forward to meeting up down the road sometime.

WL please tell Monty that Lily is all over that idea, she's always up for a romp. I just came back from the vet, Lily gulped down a whole 12oz bag of foil wrapped peppermint patties foil and all. Pretty sure she's going to be fine. Better than last Christmas when she ate a glass ornament.

Colliemom, I was a Girl Scout leader for ten years (based on the fact, I think, that nobody else wanted to do it). Looking back I must have been nuts, I still don't like GS cookies...sweet memories though.

Another welcome. Love your Lily- she looks so friendly. You sure learned how to post pix soon. I live on the central coast of CA but have not traveled much by myself. I travel with my friend, Bill, and my two doggies.
Enjoy your travels,

Welcome Karen and Lily! I am a new solo full timer, in the process of divorce. I quit a wonderful job at a children's eye clinic, where I ran the optical shop, to be a snowbird with my retired/disabled husband. After 2 winters away from the snow and cold, we decided to sell the house and go full time. We decided this winter that we could no longer live together, so we each have our own mh now. I got a work camping job at a lake in IA for the summer. So far, I love it! I also love the provided site and the space and quiet. I have bird feeders out and am enjoying bird watching again. I have my dog, Rags (a Coton de Tulear) with me and he loves going on rounds with me and helping me lock everything up at night. My ex has the other dog, Gizmo (Papichon). He is helping me with my job on weekends and has a site about a mile from mine so we dog sit for each other when needed. It works for now, but I will be looking for a helper for next summer. I'm hoping I can make it work camping. It's a nice change :D I hope to find a winter job in southern CA, near the Palm Springs area.

I have a 34' class A. It's a '98 Fleetwood Pace Arrow 34J. Her name is Myrtle. Had to get an older one so I could afford it. Hey, at least my house is paid for 8-) Your mh looks nice! I'm now shopping for a small pickup for work and play that is towable 4 down.

I am also very independent, but like having friends to do things with. I'm finding some of the couples have shunned me since the split so I'm glad I have some friends who are single and hope to make more! It is a couple's world, I've found. I hope we get to meet :D If your travels take you through IA this summer, let me know and we can have a GTG. I do hope to see OR and WA someday. I've never been there. I have met two of the girls on the forum, Liz and Barbie (BarbaraRose). Liz and I had lunch and kayaked together in FL. I went up to MN to meet Barbie and boondocked a few days/nights at her apt complex on Lake Minnetonka. We really hit it off and think I have friends for life! I think you will love having GTGs and getting to know us on the forum!
Linda, Rags, and Brutus full-timing it in our 2017 Winnebago Micro Mini, Thumbelina.

Hi, Karen;

I really enjoyed reading your post and seeing your pics. Welcome to the forum! There are definately a lot of like-minded gals here for you to form friendships with. I haven't been here that long myself, and am very much enjoying my time here, meeting everyone and hearing all the stories; and have benefited first hand from their support/prayers during difficult times.

My daughter and I are embarking on full timing come this summer when she gets out of school. We have quite a journey in front of us, and we love nature, too. Looking forward to sharing great sites, educational things to see, and lots of fun with her!

Look forward to hearing more about your adventures!
Kimberly, daughter Sarah & fur kids K9 Nadja, Dawson, and Gracie.

Hi Karen in Oregon from another Karen in Oregon (sort of). I live in Southern Oregon in the Ashland area. My friend CougarFan (Laura) lives near Salem so you are in between us. We just returned from a 2 week Car Road Trip of the Southwest. We had a great time. I am back home at my house until Wednesday then I have to leave to go to Eureka, CA as that is where I am working until the middle of August so my Motorhome is there and I just come home to visit my "stuff".

I am a Travel RN so I get to travel alot of the USA. I used to fly and take the corporate apartment but now I have a Motorhome payment...oh yes and a dog (foo foo dog) so instead of the apartment I get the stipend and it pays for my MH and space rent...AND I dont have to pack up my stuff every 3 months, and did I mention my OWN bed... and the best part of all is they still give me a paycheck for working HA HA

I am sure you will love this forum.....these gals are funny, witty, compassionate, and good spirited. I dont post much but I do read alot. I do alot of traveling thru their pictures. We have some excellent photographers on here.

Hope to meet you soon
Karen

Welcome Karen,

You're a riot. Love your description of your life with your husband. How interesting and unusual. I've always thought
the best way to partner is to have two people live in separate domiciles joined by a covered bridge. Two r.v. family,
you've given another option to separate but equal. Nice.

I'm glad you are aboard. Impressed that you figured out how to post a picture. I'm currently stuck even getting a new battery for my digital camera.

Wonderful picture of your baby coming out of the rig.
