WARMER BUT WET FRIDAY

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

WARMER BUT WET FRIDAY

GOOD MORNING TO US ALL!

It's about 43 degrees out this morning, after an all-night rain. I can even hear peepers from the pond again this morning----it's been so cold here lately that I am sure they thought winter had not yet gone! My lilac bush is looking very, very sad. The blueberries health remains to be seen as the month marches on.

Today is a jeans days, so I don't need to try to figure out what to wear, and I love it!

Our assembly yesterday was related to drug use rather than bullying----the bullying assembly will be next week. We had a sort of rock concert early in the morning yesterday...a REALLY LOUD rock concert....so loud I had to stuff my ears with kleenex and hold them shut! The principal finally had to cut the music short to get to the main reason for the whole thing. (Their sound equipment was designed for a large, open field, not our auditorium with such good acoustics) They also had a VCR tape about a high school couple who had an argument with their parents, went to a rock concert with pot and booze, and had a fatal accident on the way home. The senior prom is this weekend, so it was a timely message. Kids sometimes do not pay attention to such messages, however, as they still tend to think they are immortal and invincible. I always hold my breath until prom weekend is over, and then senior skip day.

Coffee is ready now, and I am going to take a nice hot bath before heading out. When I get home, I will need to prepare my trailer and truck for a haul to the dealer tomorrow, to leave it there for this upcoming week while they put my new tires on. I am also thinking I might have them de-winterize it this year as I had a small plumbing leak under my bathroom sink I want them to check out. I can pick it up on next Friday, as we have that day off because of an unused snow day. It will be my first hitch and haul with this new truck! I sure hope those rotten tires will take me back there!

Happy Friday, All!
Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!

good morning ladies, well I'm ready for work and have a little time to
spare so thought I'd jump on here and say good morning :D although I
could be doing the dishes but what would be the fun in that?
Soos, I sure hope your spring shows up soon or maybe you had spring
already and you missed it, now your having indian winter and heading
right into summer
Friend of mine is leaving today for their workamp gig up at Lake George,
and the Schoon river, hope I spelled that right. Retired bus driver and he'll
be driving the shuttle I guess for the river rafter folks. So if anyone gets
up that way this summer, be sure and give a hollar out to Jerry, do it in
his right ear, thats where the hearing aid is  he's 85 and finally retired.
God bless him.
Ok, guess I will get the trash out before I go to work and catch up on a few
posts. Enjoy your day and be safe.

Hey! that's only about an hour south of me! Beautiful area! Put an "r" in Schroon and you will have it right. (Pronounced "skroon" ) The old movie "Marjorie Morningstar" with Natalie Wood was shot in Schroon Lake. just a little trivia for this a.m.

Have a great day everyone!

Good Morning,

We are mostly packed for the weekend. Granted I can not find some of the sleeping bags. I recall that we might have actually gotten rid of some at the end of the last summer, as they were pretty worn. I replaced the boys as they camp with scouts during the winter. I found Kodie's. I can not find the other extras. Oh well, at least we are in cabins and I will just bring sheet and fleece blankets. Then try and figure out where they might be next week. We have a closet that is nothing but camping gear and it is not in there. Happens...I make places for things to be put away...and they do not seem to actually end up there.

The weather is suppose to be nice this weekend. Which will mean lots of playing on the beach time. I do have some craft projects just in case.

Soos the high school here did a drunk driving demo. It was one of the senior projects. They had wrecked car out in front of the school for a couple of weeks. Then they reenacted a accident. The kids were dressed as in going to the prom. According to DD they did a fantastic job. They had the honors drama class, doing the acting and such. DD said many of the students started crying..as it was so realistic looking. Hopefully it got the message across as we had no accidents this year after Prom. Graduation is still a couple of weeks away. They also had a family come and speak, their son died in a car accident a couple of years ago..after Prom.

Hope you all have a great weekend.

We had a quiet night for the most part. Had a few T-storms but no sirens going off. Major clean up going on after two EF-2 (111 to 135 MPH winds) and 1 EF-0 (65 to 85 MPH winds) tornadoes on Wednesday night. Mostly beautiful, large trees and roofs were damaged. Had a couple of roofs just slide off the buildings. Our power lines are underground, but those that still have theirs above ground had numerous poles ripped out due to the winds and thus had power shut off in major grid sections. We kept losing power throughout the day yesterday. I'm happy with that "inconvenience". According to the weather report, the storms should be declining, but the rain will last through Sunday. Maybe the sun will come out on Monday. (I hear a song coming on.  )

To everyone traveling and camping this weekend, take care and be safe and most important have fun. (Big D,(Mitch) try and have fun with you know who. :D ;) Linda

I'M HIRED!!!!!

Yay!! I got the job at Great Clips!!! SO happy! I did a clipper cut on a male customer (who got a free haircut!) and both the manager and GM said I did "awesome"! They offered me the job right afterward. I will go in for orientation (filling out forms, etc) on the 27th and then start on June 3rd. The other thing I found out that I am very happy about is that they have a receptionist. Most Great Clips don't hire receptionists, so when someone walks in, one of the stylists has to interrupt her haircut to go check them in, or answer the phone, or help someone with products, etc. I always hated that. It seems so rude to the customer I am working on, especially if I have to do that two or three times during the same cut. So I am very happy that I won't have to do that anymore!

The other good thing today is, I met with a friend of Steve's who is setting up a website for Steve for his company and needs someone to go thru and test it checking for problems (bugs) in the system and report them to this guy, so they can be fixed before the website is actually up and running. Steve is going to pay me very well for that. It will be part time for a couple of weeks but will be a nice chunk of cash$$$!!

I really should go buy a lotto ticket today!

...and the sun is shining and it is about 70 degrees! Perfect day! (I envision Snoopy doing his "happy dance"! Usually I relate more to Charlie Brown!)

Hope everyone else is having a great day too!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Yeah!!!! Barbie Congratulations. Isn't it strange how suddenly life can take a change and life is sunnier. I think bikerchic was your inspiration to take off to new adventures.
